The institute has not released any official data specific to NIST MBA placements. As per the official NIST brochure 2024, the average package offered across various courses (including MBA) offered at NIST is INR 5.1 LPA. The average package at NSIT in 2023 was INR 5.65 LPA. NIST accepts MBA admissions through OJEE counselling. But OJEE is not the only entrance exam accepted for MBA admissions at the institute. 75% of the total MBA seats are filled through the OJEE counselling. 15% of the total seats are filled through other accepted exams, namely CAT, MAT and XAT. NIST Berhampur offers merit-based admission to a few of its UG & PG courses, namely BSc, BCA and MSc. Candidates are offered admission to these courses based on their merit scores obtained in the last qualifying exams of Class 12/ graduation.

At the time of admission to the BSc programme of NIST Berhampur, selected candidates have to pay an admission seat confirmation fee and a refundable caution deposit.
