NIST accepts MBA admissions through OJEE counselling. But OJEE is not the only entrance exam accepted for MBA admissions at the institute. 75% of the total MBA seats are filled through the OJEE counselling. 15% of the total seats are filled through other accepted exams, namely CAT, MAT and XAT. Hence, candidates without an OJEE score can still get admission to the institute's MBA programme, provided they have a valid exam score of any other accepted entrance exam.

NIST MBA admission is entrance-based. Admission is provided to the applicants who have a valid score in one of the accepted entrance exams. These exams include OJEE, MAT, CAT and XAT. Aspirants must apply and appear for one of these exams. Additionally, they submit the NIST application form for MBA admission. 70% of the total seats are filled through OJEE counselling. 15% of the total seats are filled through other accepted exams. Shortlisted candidates must report at the NIST campus for document verification. After document verification, candidates must confirm their admission by submitting the specifed MBA fees.

The institute has not released any official data specific to NIST MBA placements. As per the official NIST brochure 2024, the average package offered across various courses (including MBA) offered at NIST is INR 5.1 LPA. The average package at NSIT in 2023 was INR 5.65 LPA. In 2022, the average package across all courses stood at INR 5 LPA.

Yes, MBA students at NIST are eligible to apply for various scholarships. Some of these scholarships are listed below:

• Sibling Scholarship: A one-time scholarship of INR 10,000, provided to the sibling of a student
• Merit Scholarship: A scholarship of INR 3,000 per semester, provided to students who have secured greater than 9.0 CGPA without any back papers (valid for one academic year)
• Teaching Assistantship Scholarship: A scholarship of INR 1,000 per month, provided to selected students who assist teachers in their academic work. Students from second, third and fourth years from a department where 80% of seats are filled are eligible for the scholarship
• Research Assistantship Scholarship: A stipend of INR 2,000 per month for 2 months, provided to students who assist teachers in their research work

The total NIST MBA fee includes various components, such as tuition fees, admission seat confirmation fees, hostel fees, security deposit, etc. The total tuition fee for the two-year programme is INR 2.8 lakh. The hostel fee at NIST ranges between INR 35,000 and INR 53,000 per year. Additionally, a refundable deposit of INR 5,00 must be paid at admission. It must be noted that the fee amount is based on the annual fee mentioned on the official website of the institute/sanctioning body. It is still subject to change and hence, is indicative. 

NIST Berhampur offers merit-based admission to a few of its UG & PG courses, namely BSc, BCA and MSc. Candidates are offered admission to these courses based on their merit scores obtained in the last qualifying exams of Class 12/ graduation.

Each year, NIST admits over 100 students to its BSc courses. The admission is provided based on the applicants' merit in Class 12. The institute may also follow the state/central seat reservation policies for seat allotment. Total BSc seats at NIST are distributed among the seven BSc specialisations offered at the institute. These specialisations include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc. Interested candidates must visit the institiute's official website to apply or enquire about the programme.

At the time of admission to the BSc programme of NIST Berhampur, selected candidates have to pay an admission seat confirmation fee and a refundable caution deposit. The admission seat confirmation fee at NIST is INR 15,000. The fee amount is later adjusted toward the first instalment of the total BSc fee, which ranges between INR 1.3 Lacs and INR 1.5 lakh. Additionally, students must submit a caution deposit of INR 5,000 which will be refunded to them after the completion of the programme.
