It is a very good college in Odisha.
Placements: The placement opportunities for all branches are good, especially for computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, and also for electronics and communication engineering. They provide very good job opportunities in on-campus drives.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. The campus has separate buildings for all the branches and separate buildings for the research and development team made by the college. Especially for sports, we have a big indoor stadium, and a gym is also available.
Faculty: The faculty members are very good and always ready to guide and help students. They also guide students for further studies and also how to get good placements from college. They train us for placements. The course followed is also very good.

It is an above average college and have to work hard for placements and good opportunities.
Placements: The placements were good but during our batch, covid affected the placement scenario. Thus in our time, it was not upto expectation. The general placement scenario is good. Mostly the IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, etc., recruited many students in which the salary package offered is between 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Other companies including Knowledge Lens, Mindfire Solutions, MAQ Software, etc., offer good pay packages. During our time, core companies too visited but offered less salary packages. Many companies or start-ups also visited to offer internship opportunities. The placement scenario is good and mostly depends on students as in all private institutes. One should focus on their skill set growth, which will ultimately lead a student to grab a better opportunity.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was good with classrooms and labs. Wi-Fi was not available on campus. Though it exists, it didn't get connected even once and did not work at all. The labs and classroom were neat and clean. Separate tools were provided in labs for sitting. But one thing was that in the Chemistry lab in our first year, we have to stand for entire lab which was 150 minutes long and was very hectic. No seating arrangement was provided. Overall, it was good. The hostel facility was good. The rooms were good. The mess food was good but not upto expectation as in most colleges. One has to adjust with it. Medical facilities were available. One can even play games like cricket and many more.
Faculty: In our college, faculty members were nice but not all. Mostly, they used to give notes which were quite helpful during internal exams and semester. Some were very strict and mostly in lab sessions. Most were qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was nice and they explained concepts very nicely. The course curriculum was nice and one can get into best of industries like VLSI, Embedded, etc., if they work hard. One should focus on the coding part for IT industries. The semester exams were mostly moderate and one can pass with good score if they focus in classrooms and read notes provided by faculty members. There is nothing like pass percentage but there is grading and SGPA, and CGPA system. From CGPA percentage can be calculated as per university standards. One should bring grades like O, E, A, etc., which will lead to a good CGPA. Other thing is that college is strict in attendance perspective. One should maintain attendance of 75% else, they don't allow you to sit for semester exams.
Other: I chose this course as I was interested in it. The best thing is that one can get many opportunities for GATE, ESE and several other exams. Even you can join VLSI industries which are growing at a rapid pace. The course was good and I don't think anything needs to be modified. Our college organises fests every year which are Sankalp and Waves. One can participate in several extracurricular activities and can organise many events by joining several clubs like NIST musical society (NMS), NDC, REC, NRC, etc. The campus surrounding is nice and there is greenery everywhere. It is peaceful sitting inside the campus.

Best college for middle class.
Placements: At NIST University, Berhampur, placement statistics for recent years show a solid record across various courses, particularly in the engineering fields. For the B.Tech program, around 60-95% of students have been placed, depending on the branch and year. The average salary package typically ranges between 4 LPA to 6 LPA, with the highest package reaching 23 LPA in some cases, primarily in core and IT sectors. Top recruiting companies include major names such as Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, and Tata Steel. Internships are also offered, with companies like Infosys and Cognizant providing roles, especially in pre-final years. Common roles offered to graduates include software developer, system engineer, data analyst, and roles in core engineering sectors like electrical, mechanical, and electronics engineering.
Infrastructure: Campus-wide Wi-Fi access is available in classrooms, labs, hostels, and common areas. Modern, well-equipped labs for VLSI, Data Science, IoT, and more support academic and research work. Smart classrooms with projectors are present, and a vast library has a rich collection of books, journals, and digital resources. Separate, well-maintained hostels for boys and girls ensure good hygiene and Wi-Fi. Decent quality food is provided with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. An on-campus medical center offers first aid, with access to a nearby hospital for emergencies. There are outdoor and indoor sports facilities, including playgrounds for cricket, football, and table tennis, as well as a gym and swimming pool.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable, mostly from reputed Indian colleges like IITs and NITs. The teaching quality is average but largely depends on the students' brain and understanding. The course is not very relevant; simply completing the course and depending on the college cannot make a person industry-ready. The semesters are not particularly difficult; those who understand the material can easily score good marks with practice. The pass percentage is 36%.
Other: This course makes a person industry-ready and offers a greater role in the future. The timing of the college should be changed. NIST organizes two to three fests per year, namely Sankalp, Weaves, and Foundation Day.

It has good infrastructure and good quality staff members. It is the best college in south Odisha.

Top recruiting companies like Wipro, Infosys, IBM, etc., visit our campus for placements. About 60% of the students from our course got an internship.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, it is one of the best colleges in Odisha standards. It has upgraded its classrooms to facilitate teaching through modern tools and techniques. It has Wi-Fi enabled LCD projectors, tutorial rooms, a library, a state-of-the-art seminar room and a fully equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of over 350 students. The college takes pride in being a differently-able friendly campus with new ramps, lifts and special washrooms in the building. The college has various facilities to address the reading, hearing and understanding requirements of various students. A library is an empowering unit with a resource centre for the visually challenged and possessing an array of audio-visual aids to assist in the process of self-actualisation. The college is endowed with renovated hostels, medical support systems with a physiotherapy centre, modern gymnasium, swimming pool, a huge parking facility for both students and faculty and an air-conditioned sports complex.
Faculty: Faculty members teaching quality is good. Teachers in our college are helpful. They always motivate students for their careers. The difficulty level of the semester exam is quite moderate. Teachers are well-educated. They are PhD holders.
Other: The best thing about our course is that it integrates practical things with theoretical things. Our college organises the tech fest.

There is a good environment to explore your college life along with many of the activities.
Placements: About 70% of the students who are willing to get placed on campus manage to get a placement in companies like Wipro and Infosys. The highest salary package offered was 20 LPA, and the average salary package offered ranges between 4 LPA-5 LPA. Some companies that visit our college are TCS, Wipro and Infosys.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in NIST is pretty well, and everything you need is available here. The hostels have 24x7 Wi-Fi access with air-conditioned rooms. Labs are modernised with advanced equipment needed. There is a central library which is quite huge with a studying area for students. The library has a sitting capacity of around 400 students. There are various clubs in which any student can join from the 2nd year. The food served in the canteen and mess is up to the mark. There are 2 ambulances 24x7 on the campus, along with doctors.
Faculty: The teachers here are highly qualified from top institutes of the country, and their teaching quality is very nice. The curriculum is pretty well, but there are some drawbacks which can be compensated by designing it industry-friendly. The exams here are quite tough, and in order to pass, you have to study a lot. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I had an interest in electricity and electronics from my school days, so this course suited me the most. I think this course can be designed more oriented to the industry needs. Sankalp is held every year, which is a techno fest. Waves is held for sports, and there are many clubs in our college where interested students can join. Many scholarships are available for students in need.
