Yes, the candidates belonging to the underpriviliged section and seeking admission to NIT Uttarakhand M.Tech course are offered relaxation in the eligibility criteria. For general category students, the minimum eligibility criteria is set at 60% or 6.5 CGPA in a bachelor's degree. While for students belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category, the institute offers a 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria. Thus, candidates who belong to the aforementioned categories are eligible if they have secured a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in a bachelor's degree.

In order to get admission to NIT Uttarakhand M.Tech course, students are required to take GATE. After GATE exam, they must appear for the CCMT counselling.
