The campus placement starts tentatively from Februray for graduation project-final semester interenship. However, fulltime placement process start from tentatively from Februray. The points below discuss the typical steps that takes placed for  placement process:

The highest package for the 2022 placement season offered to NID Gandhinagar graduate was INR 46 LPA. Transportation & Automobile Design (M.Des.) student received the same package. The average salary of all M.Des. graduates for the 2022 placement year was INR 21.30 LPA.

The minimum cutoff for M.Des at NID Gandhinagar in 2023 varies across categories. The following are the exact cutoff scores:

The National Institute of Design (NID) will conduct the DAT Prelims exam on January 5, 2024.

The candidate needs to report for the exam at 8 am. Gates closing time is 9.30 am. 

The B.Des exam will be held from 10 am - 1 pm; meanwhile, the M.Des exam will be held from 10 am - 12.30 am.

The DAT Prelims for the B.Des programme will be conducted in a paper-and-pencil/pen mode. The question paper may  incude both textual and visual questions. Other details like duration of the exam, marking scheme, etc. will be published in the DAT Prelims admit card.

The DAT Prelims exam for the M.Des programme will be conducted offline and include a mix of objective and subjective questions. The paper will have a total of 100 questions.

NID Gandhinagar offers 7 specializations in M.Des. These are the most popular branches at NID Gandhinagar including Industrial Design, Communication Design, Textile Design, and Apparel Design. The fee range of these courses is INR 10 Lakhs - 11.4 Lakhs. To get enroll in these courses one must clear the NID Entrance Exam. The institute offers admission to 146 students. 

Candidates need to complete a MDes degree from an accredited institution or recognised university of India to apply for NID Gandhinagar PhD course. Aspirants who have passed MPhil Design from a recognised institution or university of India are also eligible to apply for PhD programme. 

Candidates with Master of Architecture/ Fine Art/ Applied Art or BDes from NID with three-year professional or teaching experience can also apply.

NID application form 2024 is now closed; the online application opened on September 8, 2023. The application form was open online at admissions.nid.edu. The NID application form is for admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses offered by participating colleges. The candidate had the option to fill out the application form with both regular and late fees. Without late fees, the application form was accepted up to December 5, 2023. Meanwhile, with late fees, the application form was open up to December 7, 2023. 

National Institute of Design (NID) Gandhinagar was established in 2004. It offers programme in various specializations. The mode of application is online only and for admission process applicants must appear Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and mains.
