B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2023
4.2
4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
My NIT Calicut experience.
Placements: In our batch, more than 80% of students got placed in good companies. The highest salary package offered in our batch is 42 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 16 LPA. About 10% of students got internships in companies like Google, Samsung, and Sandisk. Top roles offered are programme develops and digital and analog designers.
Infrastructure: The campus has good facilities like digital classrooms, highly equipped air conditioning labs, Wi-Fi, and a library. Hostel rooms contain a cot, reading table, internet, and LAN cable. The campus has all kinds of sports facilities and a gym. It provides free medical services to all students.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good. It mostly covers the basics we need in future endeavours. Teachers are friendly and helpful in every step of the way. In each semester, there are three exams. They are a little bit difficult. The pass percentage is above 80%.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2027
4.6

NIT Calicut: Everything you need to know in a nutshell.
Placements: In civil engineering, approximately 90 percentage of students got placed into various companies. We have a fully fledged placement option in our campus. Many MNCs come and contact us. Our placement drive is one of the biggest in our state itself. Companies like Amazon, Google, and other MNCs contact us. Internship also has high value in our college.
Infrastructure: Our campus is fully occupied with Wi-Fi. Every class has a router. Even the public spaces have internet access. And our infrastructure is also good. And for hostel? Every room has a Wi-Fi router, which is very good in the modern way of learning. The food is also very good in our campus. Also, we have good food in hostel also.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful. They aren't just faculty. They play a major role in moulding us. They help us go through mental, physical, or academic distress. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it enables us to face real-life problems when we encounter them. The exams are not that tough, but in a moderate way. We should work a little hard to ace in it.
Other: I chose this course because I knew it a long ago. I was solely preparing for this one thing, and it paid off. I wish to improve my concentration in the course a little bit more. Campus surrounding and campus crowd is too good. It gives us a positive ambience. We have many clubs and activities of every sort. Also, we have every kind of sports here, and our administration really supports that.

B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2026
2.8

The campus is dull when there is no fest. Everything is in the hands of faculty on campus.
Placements: Around 97% of students who applied for placements got it. Students need to keep their GPA above 7. Learning coding will be helpful. Students speaking skills matter a lot. The average salary package is decent, not like 1 crore per annum or 2 crore per annum. Doing an internship doesn't matter much during placements.
Infrastructure: Food and hostel are good, but the buildings are old as it is an old establishment in our college. Campus is good, but I find it outdated. Facilities seem very old compared to the fancy private institutions.
Faculty: We just go for attendance. Teachers tend to teach, but we don't understand anything. Some professors are really great. Assignments are very important and they affect your marks. Constant learning is required. Midsem exams are tough.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - Batch of 2027

Overall you get to explore the outer world.
Placements: NIT Calicut's architecture department has an average salary of 3-5 lakhs per year. Out of 60 students, 5-6 get placed. Each student must complete an internship, usually in the fourth year. One company that offers jobs is LNT.
Infrastructure: NIT Calicut provides Wi-Fi throughout campus and in the hostels. Labs and computer labs are accessible to students. Food is provided by a mess, and students from other regions may need time to adjust to the food. There are different messes that offer different types of food, so students can choose the mess they like. The college has sports teams, and competitions are held within the college and among NITs. A health clinic is available 24/7 for students.
Faculty: The faculty here are very well experienced and are always available to help students on campus. The course curriculum is updated for each batch to ensure that students have the best opportunities. The semester exams are a bit difficult, but that is to be expected from a university that is ranked #3 in architecture by NIRF.
Other: I really enjoyed my time at NITC. The campus is beautiful, and there are lots of opportunities to explore and make new connections.

M.Tech. in Manufacturing Technology - Batch of 2021

College has good placements and also good campus environment.
Placements: The highest average package offered is 20 to 25 Lacs per annum, and the lowest average package is around 15 Lacs per annum. The percentage of students placed in our course is around 80%. The top recruiting companies are the food industries and TATA, Mahindra, etc. And top roles are given.
Infrastructure: The college has the best facilities for students, like good classrooms, and separate workshops for different courses, and the library is useful to students. The labs have modern technology, and multiple sports grounds are available. The hostels are awesome, and the infrastructure is good with proper buildings, washrooms, parking areas, etc.
Faculty: The college has the best staff, and the teachers are highly qualified and have great knowledge of their subjects. The teaching quality is good, with concept-based and practical knowledge. The course curriculum is relevant. The difficulty of the semester exams is tough, and the pass percentage is above 80%.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty and good infrastructure.
Placements: Many people got placements and to get placement you need at least a 7 CGPA. Everywhere it's the same thing and it's pretty hard for an average student to get placements usually in higher packages but can try hard and get it.
Infrastructure: Everything is good. Sports and medical facilities are good. Mess and canteens are not so good but we can manage and coming to mess food, the taste is not constant some days it good and rest its uneatable but it's fine because we have so many messes and canteens.
Faculty: Semester exams are so hard. So we prepare deeply to score good or average marks and that's pretty hard to score in semester exams. Also, the internals are pretty hard and moderate sometimes but we need to cope with the syllabus which they have been teaching.
Other: Fests like Ragam N Tathva are good and we too have clubs. They gonna keep many Fests in college so that we can have fun and enjoy ourselves.
