The college doesn't provide a good way for internships and also, the branches like chemical and metallurgy have a very low placement ratio.

The final thing is if students work hard at this college, then they will be successful.
Placements: Approximately 50%-60% are placed in a year from my mechanical engineering batch. I am a student of NIT Srinagar mechanical engineering batch. A lot of students opt for off-campus placements and also for their own startups. The top recruiting companies for the mechanical engineering course are HCL, Wipro, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the mechanical engineering course is so good because in my college mechanical engineering is the only course that is accredited. We have been provided a library with Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms, and digital board rooms. Our hostel room is quite well consisting of 5 students in a room, 4 almirah's and 1 fan. The food in our mess is good.
Faculty: Here the faculty members teaching us are so good in behavior and also helpful to us. Exams are so difficult as compared to other colleges. The pass percentage for a subject is 40% but the difficulty of the exams makes us ready for higher difficulties.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028

Really pleased with the environment in and around the college.
Placements: In the year 2023, there were around 720 offers, and the highest package was in CS, being 36.5 LPA. The average package overall was 13 LPA. In the electrical department, the average package was around 8 LPA. The overall placement was decent. Tech Mahindra, JSW Group, and Capgemini were popular recruiters.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are decent. There are good benches and tables. Blackboards are used for the 1st year, and then there are smart boards as well. Labs have different equipment for many experiments, such as in the Physics and Chemistry labs. There is also an English language lab for improving English. There is also a good canteen, a dispensary, and an ambulance. Sports like cricket, basketball, football, and table tennis are available.
Faculty: Teachers are properly qualified, and they are Ph.D. holders. The course in the first year contains EVS and English, which prepares students for the real world. There are two main exams: mid-semester and end-semester. The difficulty is moderate, and most students clear the exam.

NIT Srinagar review in general.
Placements: Placement rate is not good, many seniors having good CGPA do not get placement. The highest package is about 20 LPA and the lowest is 6 LPA. The average package is about 12 LPA. Sorry, but top companies don't come here. The percentage of students who got placement is also low.
Infrastructure: In general, teachers are good, but due to lack of facilities and advanced labs, they can't give their best. The library is good enough for studying but is very small. Hostels are not good; in one room, there are 5 boys, and there is total chaos and confusion the whole day. Sports, canteen, and medical care are good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but due to lack of facilities and advanced labs, they can't give their 100%. Classes are small, and the course curriculum is not relevant. It does not make us ready for industrial work. Furthermore, exams are too easy.
Other: I think ECE has vast and great scope in the future, which is why I chose ECE as my engineering course. There are many great things related to this course, e.g., it gives us skills about semiconductors, which is the future in general. Labs in this college are not good, so they do not make us skillful.

My experience has been good and positive, with a balance of academic and extracurricular activities.
Placements: NIT Srinagar has a decent placement, with companies like Wipro, Infosys, and Reliance visiting the campus regularly. The placement cell provides training for aptitude tests and interviews. Students must have more than 7.5 CGPA to be part of the placement interviews. The highest and average packages offered to students are 36.5 LPA and 13.8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The campus is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by mountains, which enhances the overall experience. Classrooms and hostel rooms are equipped with basic facilities, and the library offers a good collection of books and research material. The labs are functional and fulfill the needs of students. But there is still scope for modifying some areas.
Faculty: The faculty is experienced and supportive, often guiding students beyond academics. Most of the professors are approachable, and there is a positive learning environment. The curriculum is designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Semester exams are of medium level, and most students (70 to 80 percent) are able to pass the exams.
Other: I chose this college because of the beautiful environment, and I chose electrical engineering because I have an interest in circuits and their applications. Events and fests like annual cultural and technical events like Techvaganza provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and develop leadership skills.

I am satisfied with my branch as placements are good compared to the academic loads here.
Placements: 76% of students from my department have gotten placement offers this year. The highest package offered this year is 13.90 LPA. The average package is 8.06 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are JSW, VEDANTA, RELIANCE, etc. Most of the students find internships by interacting with their seniors or applying through websites.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our department is not much good as NIT is a government. College labs are also average, and Wi-Fi does not work sometimes; otherwise, it's good. Coming to hostel food, the quality is good but far poorer than Mumbai's hand-made food, which is obvious. Medical facilities are very bad here, as they give PCM in every case.
Faculty: The teachers here are highly qualified, as they are Ph.D. holders from IIT or NIT and they are knowledgeable in their respective subjects. The teaching quality is awesome, but it can be difficult for some of the students as the mode of teaching is English. It makes the students theoretically strong, but the student can become industry-ready through internships and projects only. The semester exams are easy to moderate, but only 75% of students are able to pass, as 25% of the students neglect their studies and classes frequently.
Other: Honesty speaking, I chose this course as I was getting this course only in NIT according to my JEE Main rank. The best thing about my course is that we get much free time after college, which can be used to develop other skills.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028
2.6

For civil engineering, this college is not preferable because placements are not good for it.
Placements: In B.Tech Civil Engineering, only 60% of students get placement. The highest package is 19 LPA and the lowest is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, etc. About 70 to 75% of students get internships offered by companies. Top roles offered are structural engineering and more.
Infrastructure: The hostel rooms are below average; a single room is occupied by 5 students. Labs are good but not well-equipped; we can say they are decent. The library is very small; it can't hold more than 100 students at a time and also books are very limited. Overall, it's bad for those who are thinking that they will get space or books rather than engineering. In the hostel, the food quality is decent. The facilities like water, Wi-Fi, etc., are very bad. Medical facilities are excellent. Sports are decent here, and the college is providing very few funds for sports events.
Faculty: Teachers are good, and they are well-qualified as well as knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Exams are medium level in mid-sem, but pretty hard in end-sem, and the pass percentage is 40%.
