Q:   Is North Eastern Regional Institute of Management Tier 1 or Tier 2?

A:

NERIM is generally classified as a Tier 2 institution. While it has established a good reputation in the northeastern Indian region for its management and professional courses, it does not carry the same national ranking or recognition as Tier 1 institutions like IIMs or top national universities. NERIM is quite practical and offers good placement opportunities, which are attractive for students in the region. But for those who wish to be highly recognised Tier 1, it is not the best option.

Q:   What is the MAT cutoff for North Eastern Regional Institute of Management 2023?

A:

Composite Score of 400 and above is considered a good MAT score. Most of the MBA colleges accepting MAT select students having MAT score in the range of 80 percentile to 99 percentile. A MAT percentile above 93 is considered ideal for admission into NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal and others.

MAT cut offs are fixed by participating institutes individually and vary from each other. The MAT cut off percentiles for MBA/PGDM admission at top colleges are usually between 80-95 percentile. The cut offs are used to shortlist candidates for the selection round which included Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Many good private B-Schools have MAT cut offs in the range of 70-80 percentile. MAT 2024 cut off for the participating colleges will be in the same range.

Review of North Eastern Regional Institute of Management.
Placements: The NERIM institute is not so good at placements. About 50% to 60% of students get placements every year. In this institute, the highest package offered is 8 LPA to 9 LPA and the average package is 2.5 LPA to 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Extramatk Education, Flipkart, etc. All students get an internship from our MSW course every year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at NERIM Institute is beautiful, but the campus isn't huge. In our department, classrooms and projectors are available. A hostel is available at our institute. The food quality in the hostel is not so good. In our campus canteen, sports and games facilities are available.
Faculty: There are 8 faculty members in our MSW course. They are very good. All are highly qualified. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is relevant. It doesn't make students industry-ready. The semester exam at this college is not so hard. It's fine for all students. The pass percentage is 80% to 90%.
Other: I want to be a social worker, and I would like to do a job in an NGO, so I chose this course. Every year, our college holds an annual week, a campus event.

The review of Nerim, Guwahati.
Placements: Provide number of opportunities with collaboration of local NGOs. And now I am also working in NGO. From Nerim, we got opportunity and our previous batches also engage with some other government sectors. And for other departments as MBA, MCA BCA LL.M. they also got chances to get placed in various organizations.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in Nerim, we have 3 numbers of lab which is all connected with broadband connection and also in the campus we have Wi-Fi availability. Classroom are very nice and all are air-conditioning, as well as library also and Nerim have plenty of books journals etc. Within the library section.
Faculty: In Nerim we get MBA, MCA BBA BCA LL.B. LL.M. MSW M.Com courses are available and the faculty is also very dedicated according to their syllabus and also they are very gentle in handling issues with the studies. High-tech facilities are available in the time of giving lectures.

Best institute in Guwahati.
Placements: To be frank, if your aim is PSU and government jobs, then go with this institute and if your plan is to work in the private sector, in my personal opinion, go for TISS, Madras and Delhi University. There is no value if you are doing MSW at an institute that is not famous for MSW. At the end of the day, all we get settled on is a good job but you will have to adjust to your dreams and be ambitious. So, choose wisely. In NERIM, you get an internship at a local NGO or company, and you can easily get an internship in the government sector, where the government itself provides a stipend.
Infrastructure: In 2007, NERIM infrastructure is renewed but the parking still have issues. College management need to fix this. Classes have AC, projectors and furnished benches. library facility is good; books are arranged in shell. The librarian will arrange the books you need if they are not available in library. There is lot of PG at locality run by aunts, and the food quality is so good non-veg is given twice a week, from night 7:30 to morning 5:30, you can not leave; it is strict rule. For indoor sports and outdoor sports, there are good facilities.
Faculty: I must say the college has good faculty members. Do not worry about the language; they taught us in Assamese, which is very convenient for us. Teachers are very helpful together; we attended many social welfare activities. The course of MSW is good, but it combines one stream. Big firms like TISS have divided it into lines for women, children, society, and social work, which is easy to learn, but we have combined the syllabus. Exams are given at the end and middle of the semester, and both are important for passing. All subjects passed by students are very few; there is always 1-2 KT for every student.
Other: I am always passionate about social activities I feel comfort while doing social activities for needy people. Our teenage group has been doing social activities for many years. We rescue street dogs so it was my ultimate first choice.

Q:   Which is the best course at North Eastern Regional Institute of Management?

A:

There are many courses available to pursue at North Eastern Regional Institute of Management like BBA, BCA, MBA, M.Com, B.Com, M.Sc etc. All these courses are good in their respective fields, but if we talk about the best course, it will  be MBA. This is because of many reasons, the course curriculum of MBA is best among all other courses, and is most industrial oriented. This helps the students to improve their skills and get the best practical knowledge of the subject. Another reason is, MBA has the most number of specializations available to pursue like finance, HR, marketing etc. Working professionals can also pursue MBA from this Institute by part time MBA program. The placement packages offered to MBA students are the highest among all other courses. So many other factors, other than these are also there which justify MBA as the best course of this Institute. Although you should always choose the course you are pursing according to your interest and relevance only.

Application Process: The admission procedure commonly entails the completion of an application form, the submission of supporting materials (e.g. University transcripts), and residence in an interview depending on the course applied for especially postgraduate ones.

Entrance Exam: In as much as some candidates may find it advantageous to sit for exams such as CAT or MAT which are at the national level, NERIM may also want some candidates to take its own entrance exam thereby cutting out some of the college candidates with extremely low test scores on the nation’s standardized exams?
