Q:   What are the admission criteria for BTech and MTech in PSGCT?

A: 

For admission to BTech at PSGCT, candidates must have passed in Class 12 from a recognized board with a minimum 45% aggregate. Admissions in the college are offered on the basis of a valid TNEA or (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) score followed by counselling.

For MTech, selections are done on the basis of TANCET or GATE but the first preference is given to GATE score. The candidate must have a degree of BTech/BE in a relevant specialization from a recognized board for admission in a MTech programme.

Q:   What all specialisations are offered under the ME/ M.Tech course at the PSGCT?

A: 

ME/ M.Tech programme at PSGCT is offered across various specialisations, namely Applied Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, among others. For all specialisations available under PSG College of Technology MTech programme. MTech admission at PSG College of Technology is subject to a valid score in one among GATE/TANCET exam. Additionally, students must be eligible for the course. To be eligible, they must have completed a relevant UG degree or equivalent with 50% aggregate

Q:   Can I join PSG College without entrance exam?

A: 

At PSG College of Technology, applications for MCA must be submitted via TANCET. The online TANCET application process includes several steps such as registration, payment of the application fee, filling in personal and academic details, etc. For the 2022 session, General category aspirants had to pay INR 800 as an application fee while the reserved category candidates had to pay INR 400 as the application fee. Those with a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate can apply for the programme based on a valid score in the TANCET exam. Followed by the entrance test, DTE conducts a centralised counselling process for MCA admission. Followed by it, a merit list is released by the conducting body to announce the names of the candidates shortlisted for the courses. Candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.

Q:   Do I need to take an entrance exam for BSc admission at PSGCT?

A: 

Yes, in order to get into the Integrated MSc courses at PSGCT, a student is required to take an entrance examination conducted by the PSGCT. The applicants are shortlisted for the entrance exam based on marks obtained in Class 12. Shortlisted students ar then called for an entrance test at the College campus. The duration of the examination is one hour. It connsists of Multiple Choice Questions from Mathematics at the Higher Secondary Level.

A: 

Applicants are admitted to the BE/ BTech programme through TNEA scores, while ME/ M.Tech admission is done on the basis of GATE or TANCET exam scores followed by TANCA Counselling.
