{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum Structure for B.E./B.Tech at Regional Institute of Science and Technology

Here's how the course curriculum is structured for B.E./B.Tech at Regional Institute of Science and Technology:

* Relevant Syllabus: According to most students, the curriculum is relevant to the field of study.
+ "The course curriculum was relevant." (Student)
+ "The syllabus is relevant." (Student)

Q:   Is B.E. / B.Tech at Regional Institute of Science and Technology worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is B.E. / B.Tech at Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) worth the investment?

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's a summary:

* Placements: Unfortunately, none of the civil engineering students have been placed despite efforts to secure internships. Other departments, such as computer and mechanical, have better placement records.
* Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful, but some are not updated on recent technologies, affecting their knowledgeability.
* Infrastructure: Classrooms, laboratories, and hostel facilities are good, although the library needs improvement. Food quality varies.
* Curriculum: Relevant, but not entirely industry-ready.
* Internships: While not paid, students have secured internships in government organizations and private companies.
* Overall experience: Despite challenges, students appreciate the peaceful hostel environment, organized events, and availability of scholarships.

Considering these points, investing in a B.E./B.Tech at RIST may not yield significant benefits for civil engineering students due to poor placement rates. However, the institution's faculty, infrastructure, and overall atmosphere might still offer a decent learning experience. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before making a decision.

Here are some specific takeaways for different aspects of RIST:

* Academics: Focus on improving the curriculum to make students more industry-ready.
* Placement cell: Strengthen relationships with local companies and explore alternative internship options.
* Infrastructure: Upgrade laboratory equipment and invest in modern amenities.
* Faculty development: Ensure teachers stay updated on recent technologies to enhance their teaching effectiveness.
* Student life: Continue organizing events and festivals to foster a positive atmosphere.
* Scholarship opportunities: Expand and promote scholarship programs to support deserving students.
* Industry connections: Foster stronger ties with local industries to facilitate internships and potential employment.

I will not advice anyone to join this institute because it is not that appropriate for anyone.
Placements: In civil engineering department no one got placement. Companies are not invited for the placement of civil department. Students got internships in various government organisation as well as in private companies. No companies were invited by college for placement in civil department.
Infrastructure: Hostel is very good. The environment is peaceful and all the essential services are provided inside the campus. Wi-Fi facility, parking place for vehicles are available. Quality of food is also good. Emergency medical facilities are available as well as indoor and outdoor games facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful but sometimes very rude too. Most of them are qualified but they are not aware of recent technologies and that's why they are not knowledgeable. Curriculum is relevant but its not making the students industry ready. Semester exam is a little difficult.
Other: I chose this course because I love civil engineering and construction related activities. The system of our college should be more focused on practical knowledge rather than theory. Various events are getting organised in the campus including college fest and other curricular activities like music events, games etc. Scholarships are available for deserving students.

Overall, our college is good.
Placements: Our college provides average placements for our course. A few students got placed in our college. A few companies visit our college to recruit students. Our college provides good placement opportunities for computer and mechanical branches. If we have any issues with placements, they will resolve them perfectly.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides all facilities. We have labs, but they have limited equipment. The library has many books related to courses and reference books. The canteen facility is good. The hostel facilities are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified and helpful. They give their best so that we can understand every point. They guide us to prepare for the GATE exam. Semester exams are difficult. If we go through what is taught in class, we can score passing marks easily. Semester exam questions are taken by NEHU.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it, and I want to become an engineer.

I am satisfied with exam results, good faculty members, and infrastructure.
Placements: No one got any placement in the civil department. Students from other departments got placed in some regional institutes and some well-known companies. Students of our department got chances for internships in various government institutes and private companies. Paid internships were not available.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well-maintained. Laboratories are very good. Library is also very good and students keep using it for studying. Wi-Fi facility is not available on campus. Hostel rooms are good but the taste of food is very poor. The hostel has facility of modern gym and playgrounds for various games and sports. Facilities for indoor games are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful regarding the project works and practicals. Apart from that, most of the teachers are qualified up to master's degree. Teaching quality is a bit good. The final-year project provided by the college is good and will help the students to get jobs in the future. Subjects are relevant and the syllabus has also improved over the last few years. Semester exams are not so difficult. The passing percentage is above 90%.
Other: I took civil engineering because I wanted to know more about the construction and infrastructure industry. This course helps us to gain a lot of knowledge about the real estate system and gives deep knowledge regarding the construction industry. A lot of events happen on our campus, and connectivity from the main city is very good.

The college has very good infrastructure and teachers, and campus life was the best.
Placements: In our department, 35 students got placed, which was the highest as compared to the previous years. The highest salary package offered was probably 4 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 2.6 LPA. Almost 100% of the students got internships at good companies.
Infrastructure: We had Wi-Fi connectivity in classrooms as well as at hostels. There were two libraries and multiple computer labs, and there was also an activity room. Hostels were very good as compared to others, and choices of single, double, triple and four-seater were also available. Rooms also had attached bathrooms as an option.
Faculty: Teachers were the best part of our college. They were well-knowledgeable and helpful, and teaching quality was top-notch. The course curriculum was relevant, and students could easily avail good jobs at good companies after passing out from the college.

An honest review of my college.
Placements: Around 10-20% students were placed from my batch. Companies that came for placement were Maveric Technologies and Virtusa Polaris. Other than that pool campus was held in other colleges in which our college authority notified us about those opportunities. Top roles offered were of developer only. The highest package offered was 3.6 LPA by Infosys followed by 3.36 LPA by Cognizant.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was really good. We have two auditoriums. One has capacity of 500 people and the other one has capacity of around 2000-3000 people. The Wi-Fi is not available for students in the campus but in the lab all the computers are well maintained with proper internet facility. The facilities in the hostel were average. The food was average but the sanitation was good. Every morning the cleaners make sure the bathrooms are clean.
Faculty: The teachers are very nice, helpful and some teachers are exceptionally good in teaching. The teachers are quite knowledgeable as par my knowledge. They never refuse to clear our doubts. They even help the students for preparation of competitive exams. The course lacks the latest industry oriented training.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in programming. The best thing about this course was the teachers of this department. The things I wish should improve for this course are the latest industry oriented training standard. The college fest known as ' Esplendidez ' is very joyful.

Well the college was amazing and I enjoyed my time there.
Placements: For our batch the department couldn't find the recruiters but I believe for the previous years there were lots of recruitment. So I can't judge them on the basis of one year. Moreover I don't have much idea about the packages offered to them.
Infrastructure: There are various facilities available such as canteen, Wi-Fi on campus, 24x7 electricity etc. The libraries contain good collection of books which was helpful. Doctor available on campus. Sports and games facilities are also present. The hostel food is average though.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, approachable and well qualified. Teaching quality was good enough. One or two of the teachers were extremely good. The course teaching during the four years were relevant and helpful. As per my point of view the college tried to help all the students in best possible manner.
Other: The reason for my choice for this course is simply because I love this course. And as for improvement there is always room for improvement no matter how bad or good.
