The college provides good facilities and satisfactory infrastructure.

Placements: Placements were pretty good. Almost 20% of the students were placed from core branches, while most of the students from other branches were placed in IT companies. The highest salary package offered was about 25 LPA, and the average salary package offered was about 5 LPA. Many companies visited the campus. For our branch, companies like Schlumberger, Shell, etc., visited and hired many students.

If you are sure about the career you want to opt, UPES is the place you need to be.

Placements: I will start with the internship first. The placement coordinator of the aerospace department arranges an internship for every student irrespective of the pointers they score. Mainly, the students go at different BRDs of the Indian Air Force and if you want to apply on a personal level that is fine too. So overall, the internships and industrial visits are handled by department very well. Talking about Placements I will be honest there is no 100% placement here as aerospace engineering is a sop...

UPES - A place to built yourself.

Placements: UPES provides a splendid opportunity. There are a lots of companies that comes for mechanical branch like, Maruti, TATA, M&M, etc. Companies used to come with different kind of profiles and projects. College also provide 'mock' group discussion and interview for the students.

Great college for Petroleum Engineering

Placements: Being a final year student of petroleum engineering with specialisation in upstream, companies are coming for placements so you get chance to get placed. Till now, in this placement season 5-6 companies have come some of them are IT companies working for Oil and Gas industry. For batch of 2016, placements were bit down due to falling oil prices. The highest package offered was by Weatherford Drilling International which was between 18-24 lpa for the job profile of Rig Engineer in Gulf countries....

University : It is Asia's first Energy sector university offering 32 programs like B.Tech, M.Tech, & M.B.A in core sectors like power, oil and gas, aerospace. Campus : It is WiFi enabled campus with high infrastructure facilities, good sport facilities, Griha 4 star rated campus. Placement : UPES offers good placement opportunities for students, but mostly focuses on IT/ ITES companies, but should focus on core sector companies

The college is located far off the city which gives a perfect picturesque for learning. The campus is very much happening and the crowd is excellent. Faculties are always available for the students so that they can get the maximum advantage. Hostels and facilities are good and the placements are good, owing to the fact that it is the only university that specializes students in a particular domain.

The college is well equipped with a number of modern labs especially for automotive and petroleum branches , however, it is limited in space . The classrooms have projectors and are state-of-the-art. The library is small and only limited online access is available there. There is only one playground, however the hostels are excellent even in the terms of mess food , but their fee is quite high (approx Rs.90,000 per annum). The placement in the college is great. It will give you enough opportunit...

The campus is awesome, but the main problem is the placements, as there are many students and the college does not have tie ups with core companies, that are specific to the Oil and Gas Sector. The faculty is fine, but for some specific subjects, the guest lectures are there and they are mostly held just before a month of the exams. So, there is no proper knowledge gained in such a small period.

Also, that time oil prices were about 60-70$ so oil market was fine. But things started changing oil placements dropped each year. Me as a student in my school days excelled in the academics and thus wanted to join an engineering school of reputation and name. I joined UPES, Dehradun and did my engineering in petroleum branch where I learnt about the processes through which we get petrol, diesel and other subsidiary products. The drilling processes and other processes too were taught during my course. UPES gave good opportunities to enhance our skills and learn by performing practicals. The college is situated uphill from D...

On completion of my graduation I decided to do further studies in engineering and thus I went for the master’s program in engineering. Now the biggest decision was to be made of in which college I should go for my further studies. After hours of surfing on the internet I came to the decision of joining UPES, Dehradun and opted for it, got my admission and started my journey towards a bright future. Frankly speaking the college shares beautiful landscapes and surroundings but it is in the outskir...

The campus is good and it is a very good college for petroleum based streams but I will not recommend it for other branches as they might not be eligible for gate because of their unique branch and stream names. The companies for oil and gas sector do come for placements and the average package of an oil and gas or upstream branches is about 6 lacks but for other branches the average package goes to about 3 lacks. The college however gives you immense exposure and enable to speak in every form a...

Campus is good, faculty members are good. Over all university is good. Location is awesome especially in monsoon and winters. You can see clouds all over the campus. University is growing fast and number of students are also increasing in every department. This creates a problem in campus space and availability of classroom.

UPES is among one of the best industrially reputed private colleges in India. The infrastructure including classrooms and labs are up to date. There are a lot of guidance of highly qualified faculty members. Although we have got a bit of placement issues mostly cause of falling oil prices, but still have one of the best private college placement records.

Placement facilities are good but as everywhere it depends upon the students capabilities of turning an opportunity to a job. UPES is not only one of the beautiful campuses in India, it's also a brilliant university providing opportunities for students who can work hard. The placements are good (In my batch 75% of the people got placed in companies like Reliance, Tata Consulting Engineers etc.) The best branches are of course, the oil and gas ones (Upstream, Gas and Chemical). The placements for CS Courses was also satisfactorily good. They have the best faculty. The fees is really prohibitive and when you add the host...

This college offers specialized degree in a very specialized fields. I would suggest you to go for only petroleum engineering here because they have faculties recruited from the core fields especially downstream. Do not join if you are not interested in this field because after a while you would get tired and would be frustrated.

Masters is business management in standalone departments like energy trading, oil and gas management, port and shipping management, logistics and supply chain management.

The college is really good and the college is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Great place but the faculty and the grading system is not very good. Although the placement is at par with most of the IITs core programs. So, overall a nice college, good for one who wants to go for courses in petroleum related branches. Talking about the chemical engineering department, a few faculties including Dr. S K Gupta and Dr. Gopal Krishnan are really great but do contain some of the worst faculties too.
