This college has research oriented curriculum.

Placements: Students are yet to pass out so no one is placed as of now. The top recruiting companies like Adani, Jindal and Aarti chemicals visit our college for the placements. Even Honeywell and Technip also came. I would like to rate it 4 stars, because the number of core companies is less than the number of software companies. In this batch, all students get internships. This college has MOU with Aditya Birla and they selected 2 students. So, everything is good.

Knowledgeable teachers, good methodology of teaching, average placements in 2016.

Placements: None of the students got placed through the campus. Only 1 company came for the placements. (Technip FMC). 90% of students bagged internship from the college in the 2nd year, since last year of the course was dedicated to industry internship which was compulsory for all the students.

Huge fee pay but no placements.

Placements: The course offers one year of campus academic education and one year of internship in industries. We were about 18 students out of which 17 got their internships in companies like aditya birla, siminfo systems, BPCL etc. None of the students were placed. None of the companies visited campus for M.Tech students.

Review of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies.

Placements: As this is a government administered college, they offer great placement opportunities. Placements for M.Tech students are extremely good for branches like energy systems, petroleum exploration, chemical engineering, etc. For the other specialisations, placements are just decent with the average package offered is around 5-6 LPA.

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is the best institution.

Placements: As robotics is still an emerging field in India, it would be very tough for the students to get placed. However, our professors and management are very helpful. They go through each and every possible way for the students to succeed in their career. The management is very keen about bringing some good companies for placements. We also have student exchange programmes with many international universities for higher education purposes.

Absolutely satisfied with the placements and teaching. The college is worth the money.

Placements: I don't know about the placements of other branches, but our HSE department offers 100% placements. Students get placed in good companies with high salary packages. If you aspire to take HSE, UPES is the best college in India. Faculty members take utmost care of the students regarding internships, projects and placements.

Good infrastructure, good faculty members and sound placements.

Placements: Our seniors are all placed with good packages, and especially this branch is very known in the university. Many companies came for recruitment. The companies recruit students as the safety officer in their organisations. Almost 99% of students got placements, and the packages offered are also very good.

Overall, I am happy to be a part of this particular college.

Placements: I am so thankful to this university only because of placements. I got so much of knowledge and even the best placement. The placement system is nice in the college completely try to make every student get the placement, and at the end, they almost did that. I had completed my summer internship programme in AMTL which is provided by the university only. Even I also got the placement in energy efficiency services limited (EESL) government, and the sector in my hometown location Lucknow.

The image is now to just make money, that's it.

Placements: The placements are good. Good companies visit the campus, but the placement office people are not that much cooperative. The package that company offers is less compared to IITs and NITs. The placement cell people are partial for some branches as in some branch people have got double placement as well, but in other branches, opportunity is not given.

Don't waste your time and money by taking energy systems as master in UPES (its a trap).

Placements: Honestly speaking, the role of the college is to prepare students for the industry. But, the colleges today in our country is far away from this ideology. And same has happened with my batch. We are not academically strong, and in addition to that, industrial needs are different. Our college manages to get some startups and small scale companies for placement of energy system. So far, 3-4 companies have interviewed us including Infosys ( for the role of software engineer which is not acceptable ...

Review Of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

Placements: There had been very few placements for the last years. But internship opportunities in foreign university is very good. One of my senior got a job in General motors. Six of my classmates got internship opportunities in France. Some of the student going to France got PhD offers.

The main attraction towards any high fee private universities are the campus placements. University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is well known for its placements. And it was this feature that attracted me to join this university as most of the students did. Unfortunately it was my worst decision of all. Most of the people might think that you cannot blame the university for the placements. I agree to disagree. When the students are being attracted highlighting and indirectly assuring the plac...

It was an amazing experience studying in upes. It has great infrastructure and the atmosphere there is also very peaceful. The facilities are very good. Hostel was pretty decent. The faculty are experienced and do take effort to help students. For students who love culture and a different situation this college is the best. The crowd there is a little mixed up but you will find people from every state and many countries.

After hours of surfing on the internet I came to the decision of joining UPES, Dehradun and opted for it, got my admission and started my journey towards a bright future. Good college to study the core sector courses especially M.tech, HSE and bachelor degree in petroleum engineering with so many streams. Environment and infrastructure is much better. Masters is business management in standalone departments like energy trading, oil and gas management, port and shipping management, logistics and supply chain management.
