Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.A. (Hons) courses at DU SOL?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. (Hons) students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. (Hons) Courses at DU SOL

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, it appears that School of Open Learning (SOL) does not have a dedicated placement cell for its students. Instead, students are encouraged to find employment opportunities on their own. While some students mentioned receiving internship opportunities, these were limited and not part of a structured placement program.

Here's a summary of the key points:

    * No dedicated placement cell: Students reported that there was no dedicated placement cell at DU SOL to assist them in finding employment opportunities.
    * Limited internship opportunities: Some students received internship opportunities, but these were not part of a structured placement program.
    * Self-initiative required: Students needed to take initiative to find employment opportunities themselves.

Overall, it seems that the placement cell at DU SOL is ineffective in terms of providing assistance to students in securing job opportunities. However, individual efforts may lead to success, as noted by some students.

If I talk about placements, then SOL is a institution which offers distance education due to which they don't offer campus placements.

Low fees, the worst crowd, and an average college.
Placements: The college provides average placements. Most students stay unplaced on campus, and the majority opt for higher education or take lower-level jobs. Some of the students also go for government. Jobs or do their own startup. About 10 percent of students are placed in college.
Infrastructure: The worst infrastructure in Delhi if compared to other colleges. No Wi-Fi or computer labs are available on campus. The crowd is also very immature and incapable of getting placed. Only students join college for a degree without gaining any skills. Mess is not available.
Faculty: Faculty, if I see, is really qualified. They don't have the knowledge to teach us, nor are they willing to teach us really hard. The course curriculum is decent compared to other private colleges. Fees are also affordable. Semester exams are really easy.

I’m fully satisfied with my college and course .
Placements: I think there is no placement in the DU, it is only when you are preparing for any exam or you are doing any job because there is no regular classes. There is no placement opportunity according to me because I am a 2 year student and I did not hear about any placement opportunity.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in du school of open learning and it also has a big infrastructure because classes were arranged only 2-3 times a month so we had to go to other colleges but not DU.
Faculty: Faculty of sol school of open learning was quite little good because the teacher who teaches in the class was well qualified and Ph.D holder so the faculty was good and exam was conducted in a very strict way like a board exam.
Other: Good of prepratation student .

School of Open Learning Review .
Placements: No Placements are provided in School of Open Learning. No the highest or the lowest and the average packages are provided in School of Open Learning. No recruiting companies are there usually. No students got an internship from any course and in no companies. No top roles offered.
Infrastructure: In my batch no classes are provided to students. But now Sol has started conducting classes on weekends for junior students so I have no idea about Wi-Fi availability, classrooms or library. Hostel is not for students in school of learning. No sports games available.
Faculty: Teachers are averagely qualified. Teaching Quality is also average. Curriculum course is almost same as Delhi University regular college curriculum. It may or may not make you industry read based over additional courses you do and your experience level. College exams are bit tricky and difficult. Pass percentage is 40 percent.
Other: I chose this course because my aim has always been civil services so this course proved to be as I had to attend coaching regularly. I wish we should have been provided with few classes in a week for better clarity. There were not events, fest, scholarships, activities etc. , .

This course is perfect for study purposes.
Placements: Placements are average. Few students got placed in this course. Our college provides call center jobs.
Infrastructure: Our college does not provide hostel facilities. The examination hall is crowded. Classrooms are well-maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are very good. They always give less information to students. Semester exams are good. Before 3 months, they released a date sheet. Students also get hall tickets before 1 day of the exam.
Other: We have to study ourselves to score good marks during exams.

Value for money! Definitely go for this college.
Placements: Placement rate is really low according to the number of students are there. Most of the students get job as a customer service representative in various companies in Gurugram and the placement SOL provides is in HSBC financial service as calling executive.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okayish. There is sometimes water to drink and sometimes you have to atand there thirty. There is no proper place to stand in line in shade. We have to stand and sweat but canteen is really good. There are allot of options you can opt for.
Faculty: Curriculum is good. You get to learn a lot by the course. Semesters are pretty easy. You can pass the exam just by studying a night before the exam. Course is easy yet knowledgeable. It does makes the student industry ready. You can get into content writing and all after studying B.A. eng hons.
