Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.A. courses at Shyam Lal College (Evening)?

    A:

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Courses at Shyam Lal College (Evening)

Unfortunately, based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, the placement cell at Shyam Lal College (Evening) seems to be ineffective for B.A. courses.

    * No placements: As mentioned by several students, the college does not provide placements, and only a small number of students may receive internships occasionally.
    * Low salary packages: When internships are available, the salary packages offered are reportedly low.
    * Limited internship opportunities: Only around 1-2% of students may secure internships, indicating limited opportunities.
    * Focus on exposing students to companies instead of providing guaranteed placements: Although the placement cell claims to provide exposure and training to students for upcoming internships, it seems that their primary focus lies in exposing students to companies rather than guaranteeing placements.

It's essential to note that these findings are based solely on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, and may not reflect the overall effectiveness of the placement cell or the college itself. However, it appears that the placement cell may require improvement to better serve the needs of B.A. students.

Absolutely dissatisfied with college faculty and location.
Placements: I am still studying, and my graduation will be completed in 2027, but I know for a fact that my seniors didn't get placed by the college. Not many companies come to this college for placement because of the college's reputation. The college doesn't provide internships; students have to use their own efforts.
Infrastructure: As a student of B.A. Programme (Political Science + Computer Application), not many facilities are available, but their functionality is in question because Wi-Fi is as slow as it can get. There are three computer labs, but only one is functional, and computers in it are also quite slow. There is no hostel. There is a cafeteria, though, but prices are high; it should cost less. Sports facilities are not up to par, like in football, we do not get a proper ground, no proper equipment, and there is no gym for players as well.
Faculty: Only a few teachers are helpful and friendly; the rest of the teachers are not much. Teaching quality is good for Political Science, Economics, History, and English. Examination difficulties are medium, depending on the subject you have opted for, and you have to pass in more than 7 subjects out of 14 in a year to pass and not get a year back.
Other: This course was my 3rd option. I was trying for JNU and BHU, not DU, but my bad was that I didn't make the cut-off. It was the last option, so I had to choose it. The course which I chose is also good; it will help in preparing for government exams and landing a job in the IT sector if skills are good. There is nothing to improve if the teacher is good, but one thing, if I can improve, is I will add a more practical way of teaching, more like visiting sites and companies, inspiring students to get more insights, and also removing language papers to optional and not in general electives area. There are organizations of events and fests by college societies, and scholarships are provided to EWS students and PWD students.

Shyam Lal College - A college which is value for money .
Placements: Around 45 percent is placed from the college as on campus review. The average package is around 6 lacs per year and the minimum package is 1.6 lacs. Some MNC companies, like IBM, Astral, and many more, also take part. Many roles, like manager and executive, are provided by companies to desirable candidates .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good but hostel facilities are not available. For food, a canteen is available, which provides hygienic and tasty food at a reasonable price. The college also provides all AC rooms with a well-developed library. The college is well known for its sports ability.
Faculty: Faculty: Look into the qualifications and experience of the faculty members in the Economics department. Good faculty can significantly enhance your learning experience. Infrastructure: Check the college's infrastructure, including libraries, computer labs, and other facilities that are important for studying economics. Curriculum: Review the course structure, subjects covered, and any unique features of the B.A. Economics Honours programme at Shyam Lal College. Placements and Alumni Network: Research the placement opportunities available to Economics graduates from the college and the strength of its alumni network.
Other: In my college life, along with studying, I and my friends enjoyed a lot of other things. We traveled to lots of places, had new experiences, and learned many new things. Our college canteen was a remarkable place in my college life, as whenever we got time, we used to hang out in the canteen. Annual festivals and sports days are celebrated once a year. Scholarships are also available for those in need, like the NSP, which provides 1 lacs in financial aid per year.

Now faculty members are good enough. Infrastructure of the college is fine
Placements: Not enough but I think approximately 30% students are placed. Average income is about 3lpa. College doesn't provide any internship program but University of Delhi provides so about 50% students go for internship program from my course. And, since I am doing bachelor's in maths so job roles are financing etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure are good enough and toilets are cleaned always and there are lifts also for students, staff, and faculty members. Classroom is so so and library is good there are study room and computer labs are also available. There is no hostel but canteen is available. Kabbadi , volleyball, cricket, football and hockey these sports are in options.
Faculty: All members are qualified enough. Prof Sompal has completed his doctoral from IIT Roorkee and Prof Dharmendra has done his doctoral from IIT Bombay. And Dr Bharti ma'am is HoD of mathematics department. Difficulty level of semester examinations are moderate. There is mathematical society called Eureka. We learn from there also.

    Shyam Lal college reviews.
Placements: 75 percent students were placed in our course this year, last year the rate was 70 percent. The highest package offered was about 12 LPA and the average package was about 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Juspay and many others. Almost 25 percent students got internships. Only sales job is offered.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in the college. The infrastructure is not well. Wi-Fi is available in the college and the classrooms are of an old style. The library is fully air-conditioned and very good. Food in the canteen is worse, price is okay but the taste of the food is very weird.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified from prestigious colleges of DU. They are very skilled. They explain every topic with good explanations in this course which is quite good. The exams are easy and not that hard. The semester exams are easy, you can score well with one day’s preparation.
Other: Our college organizes annual cultural fest every year named as Vengena. This year, we invited Ajay Hooda for the concert night which was awesome. The campus crowd is cheap just because this college is located in the east.

Overall it is a good college.
Placements: Several companies such as Google, Apple, Tata, Wipro, and Infosys are top recruiters. The average package is around 4 lakhs per annum. Placements are favorable when students work hard and possess ample knowledge. The roles offered to students may not be exceptionally high-level but serve as a good starting point.
Infrastructure: The campus is beautiful, especially in the evening as it's an evening college. The infrastructure is impressive, boasting a good Wi-Fi connection. The classrooms are spacious and well-maintained. While there isn't a hostel facility, the college canteen offers excellent food.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and supportive and possess highly qualified doctorate degrees. The teaching quality is decent. College semester exams are moderate to difficult. Teachers only teach when students attend the class. Teachers are friendly towards students.
Other: There are various societies within the college.
