Great learning happens under great professors at SMIT.
Placements: Most of the students who passed out with me now have stable jobs. My package was the highest , more than 35 Lacs per annum while doing a Ph.D. in Physics in the United States of America. Many companies came to campus and recruited students from a variety of backgrounds.
Infrastructure: The campus has Wi-Fi almost everywhere. Moreover, there are great sports facilities and even one swimming pool. The labs are well-equipped with state of the art facilities. There is a medical center on campus and nurses and doctors are always available.
Faculty: My professors were amazing. They had great knowledge of their subjects and also an enthusiasm to help the students learn. They guided me and provided active support even beyond the classroom. The curriculum was on par with the best in country and challenged students to learn and get better.

Satisfactory experience, good faculty, canteen food bad waste of money.
Placements: The highest package offered is Rs 30 Lacs per annum, the average is Rs 10 lacks per annum and the lowest is Rs 3 Lacs per annum. The placement needs to be improved. Major companies recruiting are Accenture, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: Okay, batch. There is a lot of competition, not much support from friends. The canteen food is okay. On an average, a student has to spend 500 per week for food supplies even though money for mess is paid, upgradments need to be made.
Faculty: Exams are quite difficult but we learn from the mistakes and study more to score well. The paper can be made a little bit easier but it's okay it will help us in the future. During the interview, we don't feel underconfident because we have scored good marks on a tough paper.
Other: I love Physics so I chose this course.

Good college with a great faculty.
Placements: In my course there some companies which came for campus interviews like TCS, Uniqlo. Their packages were decent. But since it is a B.Tech college so there are a huge number of companies which select B.Tech candidates. The average salary offered is 3 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The college has the best infrastructure a student can desire. The entire college has high-speed Wi-Fi which is free for the students. There is a huge library which is well-equipped with books journals and magazines for the students. There is a sports complex called Marena which houses a swimming pool a squash court and an indoor basketball court. The college has a huge ground where football can be played there are floodlights to support an evening match. There is a Health care unit with a 24hr doctor service in case of any mishap. The mess food has a good quality.
Faculty: My two years at SMIT has immensely benefited me. The teachers are extremely helpful and treat us like their own children. They are very well qualified and have a great grasp on their subject. Classes are held everyday without any gap and the teachers are very dedicated to their job. The syllabus is huge and covers almost every topic in a standard M.Sc. syllabus. A well oriented syllabus like this helps you prepare for entrance exams like GATE NET so its a great help to the students. Overall the college helps a student to gain knowledge which will make him ready for the job market.
Other: I chose this college because my elder sister studied here and I loved the environment. The best thing about my course was that I had really great teachers who guided me well. The main fest of the college is Kaalrav in which colleges from Siliguri and Sikkim come to participate. Campus life is very lively. The college is amidst mountains and this gives an aesthetic value to it.
