Excellent infrastructure, well experienced faculty & one of the best learning environment in India.
Placements: SMIT had a dedicated TNP cell that works tirelessly in terms of arranging the hiring programmes and giving pre-placement training to students as well. From my course, 65 per cent of students were placed. The annual package varied from 6-8 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies were Cognizant, EY, Intellipat, Talview, Dell, Next and many more. Microsoft has been consistently offering top roles with excellent packages of around 20-25 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college is well known for its peaceful and learning-friendly environment on the banks of river teesta with less crowd as well as pollution. The classrooms are well-equipped with smart televisions, Every student gets 90GB of Wi-Fi package per month. The labs like Computer Applications Lab, Advanced Programming Lab, Super Computing Lab, and Central Computing Facility, are well-equipped will all the modern hardware required for quality education. The hostel rooms are well maintained and cleaned regularly. There are a total of 4 messes. 2-2 each in senior girls and boys' hostels. They provide 4 times of healthy and nutritious foods.
Faculty: Undoubtedly, SMIT provides one of the best education in India. Aligning with the latest trends in terms of Techno, the curriculum is updated frequently. The faculty members are more like parents providing all sorts of assistance in terms of Academics and well as non-academic matters. Along with the course curriculum, every department organizes numerous workshops, industrial visits and seminars to make the student's industry ready. The exams are divided into internal and external exams where the internal exams comprise quizzes, sessional exams, assignments and attendance.

SMIT is the place where students are carved out into complete professionals.
Placements: Around 80% of the students from our batch of MCA course got placed in the industry through campus recruitment drives. The placement percentage was even higher for the B.Tech course. The list of companies that regularly visit the campus to conduct recruitment includes names like TCS, HCL, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Mindtree, NIIT Technologies, ANZ, and Wells Fargo to name a few. The salary package offered depends on companies like TCS, HCL and similar companies which would offer a salary package ranging between 3 LPA to 4 LPA. Wells Fargo and ANZ offered a salary package between 6 LPA to 8 LPA. These figures are all for the freshers graduating from college. The industry liaison of training and placement cell was the best and still, it is excellent. It used to ease out the task of a search for an internship for the students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and other facilities like classrooms and labs were the best in class with all that was needed when compared with the best colleges. The machines and tools in the labs were updated as per the AICTE recommendations. The hostels are significantly better than most private colleges. The trademark Manipal design two-seater rooms with two bed, two almirahs, two study table and chairs, two book racks with attached washrooms was the best thing. Availability of the housekeeping staff, 24 hours of electricity, and water supply were some significant comforts that made hostel life easy and comfortably managing the studies. The discipline within the campus including hostels was slightly on the higher side then what it is generally in any engineering college and that became an advantage for us in the long run.
Faculty: The course curriculum was regularly updated. We need not necessarily study the topics which our seniors did. It used to get updated as per the recommendation of AICTE as well as industry demand. The faculty members of our college were not only qualified but had sufficient sponsored projects wherein they would encourage the students to participate and learn.
Other: I chose this course because I had done BCA and so doing MCA was the most obvious choice. I wanted to make a career in this field as there is a good future in the IT industry. One of my seniors from the BCA course BIT Mesta also recommended this college. I wish the college had later entry in the second year of MCA for those who had done BCA at the undergraduate level as it wasn't available during those days. However, I have known that nowadays the college offers lateral entry in the second year.

Really good infrastructure and facilities
Placements: The placement over here is really good I had around 20 seniors out of which 17 of them got placed. Many well-known companies like Tech Mahindra, TCS and Wipro are the mass recruiters and the college itself recruits its students for different posts. The highest salary which was provided was around 50 thousand. Mostly, the roles of system analyst and programmer are provided. 50% of students got the internship from the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is really good. The campus has a Wi-Fi network. Classrooms are digitally equipped with a projector and some modern technologies. There is a sports complex which has various facilities like swimming pool, gym, badminton court, etc. The lab has all technology which is used in modern times. Our library compromise of all the books which are required and a digital library. A reading hall is also provided so that students can go and study there. Mess, hostel and dispensary facilities are also been provided. Hostel rooms are airy and 2 students have been allocated in one room.
Faculty: The faculty team in this college are experienced and give their best to make us learn about the real-life aspects. All the faculty members are really helpful. The faculty members use real-life examples to make us understand the subject. The ratio of faculty and student is per 5 students for 1 teacher.
