Is B.E./B.Tech at SNGIST - Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Science and Technology worth the investment?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of what to expect:

Placement Report: While some students reported receiving placements, others expressed disappointment with the placement record. About 30% of students get placed, and the highest package offered was around INR4 LPA.

Faculty and Teaching: Majority of the students praised the faculty members for being experienced, knowledgeable, and supportive. Lectures are said to be interactive, and students receive regular assignments and projects.

Infrastructure and Facilities: The campus is described as having good infrastructure, with modern laboratories, libraries, and hostels. However, some students felt that sports facilities and cultural events could be improved.

Course Curriculum: Students generally found the curriculum to be well-planned, with a mix of theory and practical sessions. Some suggested that more emphasis should be placed on practical sessions.

Student Life: While some students enjoyed the campus life, others felt that there wasn't much to do apart from studies. Cultural events and festivals were sparse, and some students even mentioned that the management struggled to organize events due to financial constraints.

Overall Value: Based on these factors, it seems that B.E./B.Tech at SNGIST may offer decent education and infrastructure, but the placement record leaves room for improvement. Students seeking a strong industry network and consistent placements might want to explore alternative options.

Here are some key takeaways to consider:

    * Placement record is inconsistent, with about 30% of students getting placed
    * Faculty is generally experienced and supportive
    * Infrastructure is modern, but sports facilities and cultural events need improvement
    * Course curriculum is well-planned, with a mix of theory and practice
    * Student life is limited, with sparse cultural events and festivals

I was absolutely satisfied because the college provided everything what we need.
Placements: Civil engineering is a very important branch of engineering. By joining civil engineering, our skills and ideas are improved. There is no stress in doing this job. In our college, almost 90% of students are placed because civil engineering has a wide range of scope.
Infrastructure: I am so proud to be a part of SNGIST because there was a good infrastructure like a laboratory, classrooms, etc. There was high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity on campus. The library was calm and quiet. The classrooms were very lively. The canteen was very hygienic. Our college conducted a lot of programme related to sports every year. Our college provided sick rooms that availed basic treatment.
Faculty: In our college, each teacher was highly professional and they were very helpful. They teach very simple methods to study. They were very friendly and very helpful. Teachers were ready to solve our doubts all the time. They provided combined classes and special classes to improve our confidence to write the exam and how to face the exam. They gave motivation classes to students. They used to conduct internal exams, model exams, module-wise tests, class tests, etc. So the semester exams were very simple to attend.
Other: Lots of events were conducted every year like tech fest, arts and sports day, teacher's day, Holi, Onam, Christmas celebration, etc. They provided scholarships to brilliant students. They were conducting extracurricular activities like quiz competitions, NSS, etc.

I am absolutely happy because good faculty, good placements, good infrastructures, and facilities.
Placements: Civil engineering is an excellent course. In this course, we have wide range of opportunities. In civil engineering, we have an advantage that is, its a long time scope. We have less work stress. In our college, about 90% of students are placed. So I recommend you all to join our college because I am damn sure you will get a wonderful experience and college vibe.

A good option for good academic life but placement opportunities offered are very less.
Placements: From my batch almost 20% of students were placed. Only few top companies visited the campus such as UST Global, Sutherland. Most of the roles offered were from IT sector itself. The highest package offered was around 4 LPA and the lowest package offered was around 1.5 LPA. No internships are provided from the college.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided are good. Infrastructure is also quite appreciable with all basic facilities provided. Classrooms, labs, library and all are well-equipped. Quality of hostel food is also not bad. Sports & games, cultural activities are less conducted.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well-experienced and highly qualified. All staffs have a good knowledge regarding their respective subjects. All classes are taken based on the syllabus given from the university. 2 internal exams are conducted and also modules tests after each modules. Exams are of moderate difficult. Pass % is always above 80%. .
Other: I chose B.Tech because I wanted to take CS as my main stream. Best things about the course is that we can learn about the latest technologies of the world. Things I wish that would be better is that - more cultural & sports events can be added along with academics so that the stress levels of students can be reduced. For our batch we had 2 Techfests - one in 1st year & one in 4th year. Also 2 Arts Day- one in 2nd year & one in 4th year.

It provides good faculty members, but the management is not good.
Placements: The placements provided by the institution were average as the department was not giving enough consideration to student placements. The placements cell does not provide any valid or relevant placements to the students. Students were not getting any practical applications about the job aspect of the course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good. It provides good library, classrooms, and laboratory. The canteen was average. It does not provide enough sports periods and motivations for the students. There were different infrastructures for different branches and different semester students.
Faculty: Most of the teachers were experienced and with good quality of teaching they were helpful for studies, and material providing they provide good quality of teaching. The exams were great to attend because of the way they were prepared and can help to get ready for this university examinations.
Other: B.Tech course was good, and a growing field it will help students in their future and by studying at best and hard work they can strive in this field. The campus of SNGIST college was overall good and enjoyable the surroundings were also clean and healthy. There were many events like tech fests, art fest, cultural, etc. Those were available at the college at different times of the courses. They also provide extracurricular activities like sports and arts to the students interested.

I am satisfied with this college in all aspects.
Placements: The placements drives haven't been up to par since the covid but the management, as well as our respective departments, try their best to get students placed. It was not just in the IT department. Many recruitment companies like JCB, Byjus and Confident Group, Infosys, Wipro, etc., used to take placements drives before covid. Getting internships in different companies for civil engineering has not been difficult as compared to other branches so almost all the students in our class got placed in different companies.
Infrastructure: The method of teaching the course, and the knowledge of lecturers were very good. I am a day scholar, so I do not know about hostel facilities, but there has not been any complaints regarding stay or food. The department and faculty members were helpful and they try their best. The hostel provides free Wi-Fi, and the food in the canteen and mess was average.
Faculty: Lecturers were qualified and had the necessary teaching as well as required technical skills. They were also very helpful during internal assessments and final exams. If students give 100% of our work they also try their best to be of help. The communication between the lecturers were easy as well, and the staff was friendly.
Other: I opted for this course because I love designing buildings, and civil engineering was one of the core branches of engineering, and there were many job opportunities. So in terms of improving our course, I feel like that should have been more practical sessions rather than theoretical. There will be a technical fest and arts fest and cultural fest happening every year. Extracurricular activities had been up to par, and management also enrolled for different types of scholarships that students were eligible for.

A journey through social connection .
Placements: Typically, the university provides placement reports detailing the percentage of student scores ranging from 70% to 100%. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and TCS are often major recruiters for computer science and engineering courses. More than 30% of students get placed.
Infrastructure: The university provides campus-wide Wi-Fi access so that students can connect anywhere they want. Hostel and canteen quality is good, but food recommendations are average. Labs are in good working condition but sometimes the connection to Wi-Fi is poor and you lose internet.
Faculty: Many students find their staff approachable and the staff are willing to assist outside of the class. The minimum quantity of professors often holds an advanced degree and the staff provides good interaction. Since I don't know about other departments staff, CSE staff are very nice.
Other: Since I am computer science and engineering student, nowadays technology is high, which is why I chose this course. Campus provide good surrounding, fests, etc.
