SMEAT Syllabus 2025 - Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology postulates the syllabus for the SMEAT entrance exam.

Q: What is the SMEAT exam pattern?
The SMEAT exam is conducted in two parts - Test 1 and Test 2. The duration of each test is 90 minutes and carries 50 marks.
Both the parts are mandatory.
Test 1 (T1) is a General Test of Ability, while Test 2 (T2) is a Test of Creative Competencies.

The Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology, which conducts the SMEAT exam, offers the following courses:
- Undergraduate Programmes: 3-year skill-based vocational programme (BVoc), 4-year professional programme (BDes, BFA)
- Postgraduate Programmes: 1-year Diploma programme (PGD), 2-year professional programme (MDes, MFA, MPlan), 2-year Arts programme (MA) and 2-year Arts programme: Professional Practices (MA)
The admission to these programs will be on the basis of SMEAT 2024 merit rank.
Q: When will SMEAT 2025 exam be conducted?
The Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design, & Technology will conduct the SMEAT 2025 exam around the 1st week of April 2025.
The SMEAT entrance exam is conducted in multiple rounds (THREE or more). The candidate has the option to apply in any of the admission rounds.
The application form for SMEAT 2025 is expected to open for Round I tentatively in the 2nd week of January 2025. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may apply.
SMEAT 2025 Syllabus for Test 1
Srishti Manipal Entrance & Aptitude Test 1 for UG, PG, Integrated Doctoral and Doctoral Programs includes one or more of the parameters mentioned below:t
- Analytical Reasoning: In questions on this topic, the candidate’s ability to review information and be able to analyse, reason, infer and predict are analysed.
- Exploration and Persistence: This topic analyses that whether a candidate has the ability to persist and explore the domain or not.
- Imagination and Visualisation: In questions on this topic, the candidate’s ability to imagine, visualise and represent an idea, using any of the given medium is analysed.
- Language and Expression: In questions on this topic, the candidate’s ability to comprehend, articulate and express in English is checked.
- Observation and Curiosity: In questions on this topic, the candidate’s ability to observe, explore and enquire; lay emphases on details and use multiple ways of seeing.
Q: Will the SMEAT exam be conducted offline or online?
The SMEAT 2025 exam will be conducted in an online mode at 10 cites across India. The exam will be conducted in multiple rounds.
The exam for Round I will be held around the 1st week of April 2025. The application form for the exam will commence somtime in January 2025.
The candidate can select their exam city when filling out the application form.

The results for the Round II of SMEAT 2025 entrance exam will be declared around the 2nd week of June 2025. The results will declared online at the admission portal of the institute. To check their results, candidates need to log in using their candidate credentials.

- Contextual Awareness: In questions on this topic, aspirants are evaluated on how well they are able tto reflect on the environmental, social, political, economics and cultural factor; and their implication on art and design.
- Critical Thinking: In questions on this topic, aspirants are evaluated basis ability to analyse, formulate and express a position or point of view, for a given context.
- Imagination and Visualisation: In questions on this topic, the candidate’s ability to imagine, visualise and represent an idea, using any of the given medium.
- Language and Expression: In questions on this topic, the candidate’s ability to comprehend, articulate and express in English.
- Viewpoint and Perspective: A candidate is judged on the basis of his/her view point on the given question or scenario.
Q: Is the SMEAT exam easy?
According to students, SMEAT exam is in the range of average, which is neither too easy and nor too tough. The candidate, however, has to know the syllabus and its core subjects thoroughly in order to score well.
Candidates appearing for SMEAT can also appear in other popular private entrance exams like MITID DAT, Pearl Academy, and FDDI AIST.
There are then the top-tier entrance exams like NIFT, NID, and UCEED.
