Review by a student on the environment of Francis college.

Placements: Many companies come for placement, but all of them are related to IT sector that means even if you are an EXTC engineer you have to join an IT sector, so that's a kind of drawback, and rest all is good. If you are attending placements, you cannot do anything else like giving external exams like GATE and others.

The placement is improving, discipline and attendance(min 75%) should be maintained.

Placements: The placement offered for the year 2016-17 was 97% overall. But for the current year, it has reached up to 99 %. The companies visited for the placement are Larsen and Turbo, Capgemini, TCS, Justdial and Accenture. The highest package offered was Rs. 5 LPA while the average package offered was Rs. 3.5 LPA. The college is offering no internship for 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year students.

The college faculty is good, the placements are better and the infrastructure facilities are okay.

Placements: The placements are good. Lots of companies are coming to my college for a variety of jobs. The offered packages vary from Rs. 2.5 lacs per annum to Rs. 6 lacs per annum. The faculty provides help during the placement. The college management also supports by providing extra classes for the students who miss the regular ones due to the placements. The college also supports the students who are planning to go abroad or pursue further studies by conducting seminars and workshops.

Overall, college is better compared to other engineering colleges in terms of fees and facilities

Placements: Actually, I am in the third year but I know about our senior batch placements. This year, the companies which came for placements were LTI, Capgemini and Drona HQ till now but there are other companies coming this month like Justdial, Tata Consultancy Services and much more. The companies average package is around 3-4 lakhs INR but depending on the extra qualification of students, companies had given some students up to 5 lakhs INR.

Good placements, really good infrastructure and facilities

Placements: In 2017, Capgemini recruited 23 students with a package of 3.4 lakhs whereas L&T recruited 130 students with a package of 3.1 lakhs. Drona also came with the package of 3.3 to 4.4 lakhs. Placements are good. According to past experiences, almost 80% students are placed every year. The placement committee of the college is also good and provides prior training.

A college which has a good placements but average infrastructure and faculty

Placements: The SFIT has a dedicated training and placement committee which has teachers who are experts when it comes to the corporate world. From semester 3 every week, there are 2 hours per week dedicated to training students for placements. The placement record of the college is above 60% and 5% were opting for higher studies. In the previous year(2016), almost 200 students were placed. TCS, Capgemini and Accenture are the usual recruiters. This year (2017), a team from Tech Mahindra is coming. The plac...

A very strict college which is very particular about students' attendance.

Placements: The placements are just about average. Many companies visited our college for campus placements. At St. Francis Institute of Technology, we even have a training and placement officer as well as a committee. Being a part of the committee, you get the first-hand experience about arranging campus placements.

Overall, a good college with good faculty, infrastructure and a below par canteen

Placements: The placement cell this time had companies from Capgemini to L&T and various other companies. The average package was around 3.3 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs per annum. Around 60 percent of students who sat for placement got placed this year. The placement committee has various workshops and seminars for students in an academic year.

A good bet for students with moderate score and geeks who like attending lectures.

Placements: The placement percentage is around 70-80% while there are students also who opt for higher studies abroad. The college has most of the IT companies like TCS, Infosys, etc. visiting for recruitment while many startups also visit for recruitment. Also, for students not willing for placements or higher studies, there is an entrepreneur cell which motivates the students for coming up with their own ideas and innovation.

Satisfied with the placements in the year 2014.

Placements: Placements were good and almost 70% students were placed. There were no companies for electronics and telecommunication. All the IT companies like Infosys, Capgemini and Accenture hire students regardless of their course. Companies like Infosys and Capgemini hire in bulk around 100 in one place which contributes to the majority of the students.

Good placements and great faculty.

Placements: Placements in SFIT were good for computer and IT people. Companies like Capgemini, Atos, TCS, etc. recruited the students. But for EXTC, there were very few companies. The main problem was they were all IT companies and it was open for each and every student, and these companies only used to take IT students. There were also startup firms like ARK Technosolutions which hired for BDM and RND roles. There was no dedicated cell for placements in SFIT. A placement cell should be driven by the stude...

Not satisfied with placement as EXTC students didn't even get the chance to appear for placements.

Placements: Placements were average. All the companies coming for the campus interview were IT-based and as I was an EXTC student and I did not want to go to the IT field-based job. Our TPO didn't call any core EXTC companies for the campus interview. So, it was really worrying for EXTC students who want to go for core companies. The companies which visited are TCS, L&T Infotech, Capgemini, Seclore, Endurance, Mindcraft etc. The average salary was 2.7 lacs.

SFIT - strict college, average placements and average infrastructure.

Placements: Placements in the college are just average. TPO is very rude and doesn't help students. All the company that comes are IT only. TPO said that he didn't call core EXTC company like Reliance Jio because they were offering lower salaries. Around 80% of all eligible students get placed. In EXTC, the percentage is even lower. The highest salary offered was around 4.5 lakhs and lowest was around 2.2 lakhs. TCS, Capgemini, LnT Infotech, Seclore, Mindcraft, Yapsody, Crimson Interactive, Endurance, etc w...

This is one of the engineering colleges whose name speaks for itself. It has a host of clubs and activities to choose from for all round development, depending on your interests. Robotics, Quizzing and debating are just a few of the many activities available. College hosts cultural fests, which itself are worth joining the campus. Of course, you can't miss too many classes, attendance is strict. Faculty members are good but not great. Students here are extremely friendly and try to enjoy their ...

SFIT has a good brand name. It is a catholic minority college. It is ranked in Top 10 colleges under MU. Good thing about this college is the faculties are very good. IT department is very strict. The location of the college is not that good. No places to hangout. Canteen is the worst thing about college. Campus is vast and beautiful with gymkhana, Badminton court, Volleyball court, Basketball court, Rink football ground. The cultural and tech fest are average. Placements is around 80%. If you a...

Placements: Up to 20 to 50% of the students were placed in my course and were offered a salary package of Rs.12k to 15k. Toyota, Mother dairy, Wipro, etc. are a few companies that came to offer placements to the students.
