St. Joseph's College Irinjalakuda: A world of exploring.
Placements: My batch is 2024 to 2026, and I’m studying M.Sc. Biotechnology at St. Joseph's College Irinjalakuda and biotechnology is an excellent course. Zara Biotech provides internships for students, and students are getting opportunities as our college is providing placements and internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are excellent, with good teachers and other staff, and availability of Wi-Fi. Good lab infrastructure and the library is very useful for students. The college hostel food is very poor, and the behavior of the hostel staff is very bad.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers help us a lot, and they should take more effort to take classes. They are well-qualified teachers and have good knowledge of their subjects. The curriculum is very relevant, and the semester exam is not too tough. They provide two internal exams in one semester.
Other: I’m studying M.Sc. Biotechnology, and I chose this course for a good scope in the research field and high opportunities in the future, that help our country with development. The campus is good and eco-friendly.

World of values. Good faculty, good infrastructure, and high-tech laboratories.
Placements: I am here studying M.Sc. Biotechnology. Our college does provide placements. As biotech is a research-based program, the placement opportunities are somewhat less for our program. But there are placements. Zara Biotech company provides internships for students for about 2 months. Students will get excellent opportunities.
Infrastructure: We are provided with good infrastructure. Classrooms are equipped with projectors. The labs are very good, with all the facilities and necessary equipment. Our biotechnology lab is very neat and clean. Wi-Fi is also provided, and there is a good library. We now have AI to assist with doubts in the library and for the college map. Overall, very good infrastructure, and the hostel is also good. However, the food in the college hostel should be improved.
Faculty: For M.Sc. Biotechnology, we have 3 faculty members and the degree students have another set of faculty members. Our teachers are very helpful. They provide us with the basic ideas, and there is no spoon-feeding. They let us go to the library to create our own notes. The curriculum is relevant, and the semester exams are not too tough but need good revision. The college's pass percentage is overall good.
Other: I am studying M.Sc. Biotechnology. I chose this course as it has a good research life. The best thing about the course is that we can do experiments in the laboratory. There are cultural events and seminars also provided. Many activities are organized, and the college provides a free gym to students. It is also the best college for sports students, as the college is a big support for them.

Absolutely, I am satisfied because of the college campus.
Placements: Above 60% of students were recruited to our course. My course fee is 35,000, but I got a management seat, so I had to pay 50,000 with my donation fee. The top recruiting company is Veta Company. In our course, there are a limited number of internships provided by our college.
Infrastructure: In our college, we have Wi-Fi facilities, labs, a library, and classrooms. Our lab is big, and they provide lab facilities, but they are limited. Our college has many classrooms, but our classroom is small. I am in the hostel, and it is good. Many facilities are provided, but the food is average. However, our rooms are comfortable.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but sometimes they are not helpful. Overall, they are good. Our course curriculum is relevant, but it does not make students industry-ready. Our semester exams are very tough, and for me, it is very difficult to pass the exams and write them.
Other: I chose this course because I am very interested in lab and Biology-related subjects. Our course is related to future trends; biotechnology is the use of advances in molecular biology for applications in human and animal health, agriculture, the environment, and specialty biochemical manufacturing.

Best college for doing M.Sc.
Placements: Students in the fourth semester are eligible for placement. Companies like ZIFO and Bharat Biotech have visited the college lately. TCG Life Science visited the college, and five students were placed in our department. The minimum salary package is INR 3 to 4 lacs pa and the maximum is INR 7 lacs pa. If students are interested in further studies after their master's, i.e., Ph.D., then this college would be the best, but not for placements.
Infrastructure: In the hostel, there are many rooms, and in one room, three students live. Three single beds are provided to each student. The room condition is good. A study table is also provided to every student. The meal quality is very good. Food is ordered in the best quality, and the cooking of food is also done in a clean area. For this, we have to talk to the hostel warden. And Warden will provide you with all the information regarding the hostel. Hostel Fee: INR 7,000 per year.
Faculty: I had completed my bachelors in biotechnology and had decided to complete my masters degree in the same, as it has been a subject that has always fascinated me from the time it was introduced to me, and with the incredible faculty of Pillai College, the interest and the inquisitive nature have only grown over time. For the B.Sc., it is 60, and for the M.Sc., it is 40. The number of faculty members is 15 teaching and 4 non-teaching staff in the department, which makes it well balanced, and there have never been any delays in any of the activities, be they practical or theory lectures. The teachers have always been ready to offer any help and guidance when I have faced any hurdles, be it on the academic or emotional front. They have always been supportive. The teaching methods used were very interactive, videos regarding the topic were constantly utilized, and reference books were always made aware of opportunities available. All this always helped me score good marks in the exams. Class size;-58 The course costs INR 24000 per year.
