It offers one of the best student lives, as long as we are in Science or Arts.
Placements: The highest salary package from my senior batch was around 20 LPA at DeShaw, likely for an HR or Software Development role. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA-7 LPA. There are many recruiters, from L&T to Axis Bank. The placement cell is very active and helpful, although it is filled with stringent regulations.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch, old but classic, and durable. Labs are modern and well-equipped. Our college houses one of the oldest libraries in the zone, and it is very much worth visiting. One could easily find themselves lost in the library but don't worry, as there is always someone like-minded nearby to help or guide us.
Faculty: Faculty members are very professional. Semesters become more difficult as the course progresses, particularly from the second year onwards. The course curriculum is relevant, yet it feels a bit backdated at times. However, if we trust the process, everything falls into place with time. Students are industry-ready by the end of this course, though there could be more improvements in this area.
Other: There's always something going on—an event, seminar, or sports league. There's something for everyone here, with various clubs ranging from social work to sports and from business to public speaking. Fests are amazing, with a great lineup every year. It's located on Park Street, surrounded by limitless pubs and cafes, so the after-college vibe is lively. The best thing about this course is my peers, who are more excellent than me, creating a very competitive yet helpful environment.

Good experience in B.Sc. Stats hons. at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.
Placements: I don't think anyone got placed through the placement cell in our batch. Usually companies came to our college, and only those who signed up for placements would get to know. Big companies like Accenture did come. I feel that a lot of us went for higher studies as well as off-campus jobs, so that's it.
Infrastructure: The computer labs were top-notch. There was Wi-Fi in the campus and in the labs. The classroom was big and airy. We also had air conditioning. Overall, a great environment for studying. The quality of food in the hostel is great. There is also variety—sweets, pastries, junk, and healthy meals. The sports facility is great; there is also a dedicated basketball court as well as a football ground. The library is huge and has separate reading rooms.
Faculty: The teachers eagerly solve our doubts and resolve any questions we had. They were all qualified and knowledgeable. The curriculum is up to date. The R sessions really make us industry-ready since there is one in every subject. Exams are not very hard. Passing rate is 40%.
Other: Perfect blend of mathematics and data. The best thing is the way we are taught. If you are attentive, you don't need to go back and study everything again. Xavotsav is the biggest fest in town, and it's at Xavier's. The campus life is the best one can have with events throughout the year. There's also scholarship prize money for people who do well in academics.

Brief on St. Xavier's Kolkata 23-24.
Placements: More than 70 companies participated in campus recruitment for the academic year 2023-24. The CTC offers ranged from 4 lakhs to 24 lakhs. Notable recruiters include Accenture, D.E. Shaw, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Ernst and Young GDS, Deloitte USI, Deloitte India, McKinsey, Adobe, ICICI Bank, Digit Insurance, Novartis, Rebuscode, Corizo, Tata Consultancy Services, SBI, Axis Bank, ITC, Swiggy, Zomato, Tata Power, Myntra, Aakash Institute, Aditya Birla Group (including Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance), Bajaj Capitals, Cognizant, Federal Bank, Asian Paints, Godrej & Boyce, Godrej Properties, Kingfish Group, Verizon, Swiss Re, WTW, RSA, Nopany Associates, NEO Group, MGH, Chegg, Pragmatic Play, Zen Trades India, Grant Thornton, Visa Group, Ditto Insurance, Digit Insurance, and Wells Fargo, among others. This reflects a 25% increase over last year, which included premium companies like Zomato, Hyperpure, Amul, Dollar Garments, Paragon Finance, and Lakme.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi throughout the campus, and classrooms utilize both traditional and digital teaching methods. The library is decent, with a great availability of books. The hostel infrastructure is good, offering two main meals and a tiffin each day. The college also has a nice canteen that offers food at a very affordable price. There are two fields for various sports, including volleyball, football, and basketball.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely well-qualified and knowledgeable, and most of them try to connect with students personally. The course curriculum is relevant and popular, enhancing students in various aspects. The difficulty of semester examinations depends on how much students have studied and followed the classes.

Review of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.
Placements: Freshers have the opportunity to participate in placement cell events. They volunteer and learn when companies visit our campus for placementa. Freshers are not directly involved in interactions with the placement companies. Top recruiting companies like Deloitte, etc., visit our campus. Students in their third year of this course are allowed to work on different workshops and internships. Seminars, special lectures, and workshops are also held regularly. Seminars tend to be for higher levels, like a third-year or PG level.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite developed. Our classrooms are spacious and airy. The lab equipment is sophisticated and the departments have labs for various subjects in good working order. The quality of food is average. The canteen food can be better avoided. There are stalls inside and outside the college where students crowd for snacks and meals.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and approachable. The majority of them are highly qualified and have masters in their fields. They tend to listen to students and solve their problems. There are exceptions. The semester is divided into CIA, which is worth 10 marks, and end-of-semester, which is worth 60 marks, 30 marks for practicals, and 10 marks for viva performance and lab notebook. Semester exams are moderately tough.
Other: The college is well-connected to various modes of transportation, including bus routes and the metro. Situated on Park Street, the environment outside is busy. The college is crowded at the beginning of the dayshift at 10 a.m., otherwise, it's not that congested.

The college is good, with good facilities, awesome teachers and a good environment.
Placements: The placements were average. Many MNC and MSME companies came here. The highest package offered was 7.2 LPA, and the average package was around 4-5 LPA. A few students got low packages. Around 76% of students got internships, and a few got direct jobs from MNCs.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities were good, and the food was good too. Various sports facilities are available. There is also an emergency room for students. Overall, the facilities are good. Rooms are comfortable and quite good in size. There are courts for almost every sport.
Faculty: The teachers are good and kind, except for a few strict teachers. They are highly qualified, and their teaching method is simple. Some teachers are highly educated and super friendly. They taught the whole syllabus nicely and with every minute detail and explanation.
Other: I chose this course because very few students choose chemistry after there 12th board, and there are various opportunities in this field.

St. Xavier's has got a brand, with an AIR 4th, but it is like any normal private college.
Placements: In the multimedia industry, lots of companies offer jobs, but if you are an extraordinary student, then big MNCs like Google will hire you. The starting salary offered to freshers is not much good, it is around 20,000.
Infrastructure: In the multimedia department, there are 3 computer labs fully furnished with Apple IMac systems. Each student has his own working space, and the labs are fully air-conditioned. Other than this, we have 1 animation lab (AC) where we learn classical animation on light boards. The light board room is not so clean because it is a busy room. Other than this, we have lecture rooms (AC) and many small classrooms without AC, but they will be installed soon. The canteen is big and beautiful, and the quality of food is good, but there are less varieties available. We have an infirmary for medical assistance to the students. We have different societies. For sports, we have a sports department which takes selection for different games, especially for cricket, football, basketball etc. If you want to join sports in the college, don't wait for any notice on the college website. Just visit the college to get information for trials and selection because this department is very careless about this.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, and some of them are very popular in the world in their fields. They treat students like their friends, and this is the good part of it. Whatever problems you have, just go to them and tell them they will listen to you and help you for sure if they can. Multimedia consists of 3 main subjects, and they are animation, graphic design and film studies. The course is integrated, so we have 3 years of B.Sc. in multimedia and 2 years of specialisation in particular fields, animation, graphic design and film studies. This course is not theory-based, and it is fully practical and depends upon your skills. The better skills you have, the better you get marks. Passing is easy, but if you're in this course because of your passion, then you must work hard.
Other: I chose this course because I was confused about my studies, and I wanted to explore animation and graphic design, so I decided that this could be great for me to pursue. The best thing is that you can explore all three fields. First, you can get the basic knowledge of all the 3 and then choose whatever is the best for you. The first year is very boring because the speed of teaching is very poor. There is a famous event known as Xavotsav, and that is held every year.
