Is Sunderdeep Dental College and Research Institute good for BDS?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the strengths and weaknesses:

Strengths:

* Good teaching quality: Many reviewers praised the teaching staff, saying they were helpful, qualified, and went beyond to clarify doubts.
* Industry-ready infrastructure: The college has modern infrastructure, including air-conditioned classrooms and labs, making students industry-ready.
* Placements: Although the college doesn't provide direct placements, many students reported getting internships and job offers from dental clinics and hospitals.
* Experienced faculty: Faculty members are well-experienced and knowledgeable, having completed their graduations, postgraduations, and doctorates from renowned institutions.

Weaknesses:

* No placements guaranteed: Unlike other colleges, Sunderdeep Dental College does not guarantee placements, leaving students to find employment on their own.
* Limited campus facilities: Some reviewers mentioned that the college lacks sports facilities and playgrounds.
* Mess food could improve: While the canteen is decent, some students felt that the food could be improved.

Overall Assessment: Sunderdeep Dental College and Research Institute seems to be a good option for BDS aspirants, especially those looking for a strong foundation in theoretical and practical knowledge. However, it's essential to remember that the college doesn't guarantee placements, and students may need to take initiative to secure internships and job offers. Despite this limitation, the college's good reputation, experienced faculty, and industry-ready infrastructure make it a viable choice for aspiring dentists.

Q:   How does the placement cell for BDS at Surendera Dental College and Research Institute assist students in getting placed?

A:
{Source: BDS students & alumni}

Placement Cell for BDS at Surendra Dental College and Research Institute

Unfortunately, according to student reviews, the placement cell at Surendra Dental College and Research Institute does not provide significant assistance in placing BDS students in jobs. Here's why:

* No placement provided: As stated by several students, "the placements are not provided to us" and the college doesn't offer an adequate stipend either.
* Limited opportunities: Private dental colleges rarely provide placements, and students are expected to open their own clinics or pursue higher studies (MS) to secure employment.
* Industry readiness: While the college claims to make its students industry-ready, this largely depends on individual effort and dedication, rather than any structured placement program.

It appears that the focus lies more on academic preparation and clinical skills development, leaving students to find their own opportunities outside of the college's placement efforts.

Absolutely satisfied to take admission in this college .

It is a DCI and NAAC-approved college.
Placements: Placement is good when you go to other states. And you can get a job practicing in other clinics and hospitals, where you can gain experience and either do MS or setup your own clinic. As well, you can go abroad for better experience in a country like Canada.
Infrastructure: Accommodation is excellent, with provisions for good food. But colleges have provisions for only vegetarian cuisines. They provide separate accommodations for boys and girls. Hostels are generally secured with CCTV cameras and security guards. Hostel meets the expectations of most candidates.
Faculty: Faculty is another important factor that influences the quality of any medical college. This college has faculty who have completed their graduation, postgraduate, and doctoral programs at the most reputed campuses in the country or abroad. They are highly qualified.
Other: The lives of students at these campuses are great and memorable. Medical colleges have one of the best campuses in India. Students find their lives on these campuses memorable. With a mosaic of cultures covering these campuses and a great deal of freedom, they are more than just great.

Satisfied with faculty and methods of teaching and also patient flow.
Placements: No campus placement is offered. After completion of the course, one needs to do any job on their own. One can set up their own clinic or work with other dentists for experience or can also prepare for their Masters. Internship is given by state and central government on the basis of caste.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. Many labs are present for separate departments, and also a separate LT is present for every batch. A well-furnished library is present with more than 500 seating capacity and more than 10,000 books by different writers for different subjects. Also, the library has a lot of journals. E-library facilities are also present. Many events are organized in the college, like Freshers' party, Ganpati celebration, and Sports weeks. Football, basketball, volleyball, and many indoor games have separate areas to play. The Rotaract club is also present, which helps students to do out-of-the-box activities. Each student has their own ERP ID, which helps in accessing e-books and also provides many other facilities.
Faculty: All the faculty members are very qualified, especially the HODs of all departments. Professors are good at their subject and have good experience in teaching, and all have completed their MS from their respective departments. The campus is very big, and mostly all areas are air-conditioned. Patient flow is too good. Plenty of patients visit daily, and it gives the students good experience in handling patients. Exams are basically of two types: first is internals, which are taken at the college level three times per year, and second is the university exam, conducted once per year. The difficulty level of exams is moderate; one who studies regularly can easily clear the exams.
Other: Patient flow is good, so experience in dealing with patients is well developed, and also treatment experience is developed. Freshers' is organized every year, as well as Ganpati celebrations and sports week. Various clubs, like the Rotary club, are present, so if one wants to do anything out of the box, they can do it.

Good flow of patient and at low fee also really good clinics.
Placements: As this college is private so, placement for dentist is negligible. None of the private dental colleges provide the placement. You need to open your own clinic or can do your MS after passing from here. Once you are passed out you become a dentist and can do your own practice.
Infrastructure: If talking about the college campus, it is very good and well developed. Labs and hospital or clinics also have updated infrastructure. Classrooms are equipped with smart class equipment. Library is opened from 9 am to 9 pm and have more than 500 sitting capacity. Hostel is provided with two or three beds. Only demerit is neither college nor hostel is provided with free Wi-Fi.
Faculty: Teachers are well experienced and qualified in both clinical as well as theory. Completion of syllabus is done as per the time provided by the university. Courses are sufficient to became dentist. College examination is also done here at interval of 3-4 months and once in a year there is a university examination. Level of difficulty is 8 out of 10 on scale. If you are a good student then I don't think this course is hard for you.
Other: This is 4+1 year course ( 4 years of study followed by 1 year of internship). At regular intervals of time, event is organized in the campus. Events are not so big but sufficient to chill. Sports week and all is also organized here. For SC and ST students government also provides the scholarship.

It is not so good college but it is good academics wise.
Placements: It is a medical College, hence, it doesn't provide placement but it gives us an opportunity to do internship. It all depends on your practical work and your academic curriculum which will shape your future career. We do get patients in our college in every department .
Infrastructure: We have a library, where all the necessary books are available. We have separate mess with good hygiene maintenance. Lifts are present and classrooms are good with air conditioning. We have one sports ground and a canteen in the campus. Wi-Fi is not provided.
Faculty: Faculty is good, and teachers are well qualified. We have exams every 3months, we have 2 internal exams and an University exam. We have 50% passing criteria and good practical practice is there too. Exams are not difficult, it all depends on how much you study.

Absolutely satisfied as the infrastructure and teaching faculty are good.
Placements: 65% of students got placed. The highest package offered is 2.3 LPA, and the lowest package is 1.2 LPA. From this course, we can get placed easily in any hospital, either government or private. Most of the students complete their internships from the same college. Roles such as dentist, dental assistant and lab assistant are offered.
Infrastructure: There are lecture theatres with AC facilities. Lecture halls are provided with projectors for better understanding of topics, and cameras are also installed. Labs have complete equipment. The library has the latest edition books. A canteen, mess, hostel, everything is perfect.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful as they help us solve our doubts. The teaching quality is above average, and the method they use to teach us is good. The level of semester exams matches the level of university exams. Exams are moderate. The passing percentage is 50%.
Other: I want Dr. as a prefix. I chose this course because I have an interest in teeth and its anatomy. The best thing about this course is that we can get to know about several diseases related to mouth and oral tissue. I think it would be better if lecturers used more models to explain the topics.
