Established in 2006, the Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology (TIAT) is a private institution. Situated in Kandivali East, Mumbai, Maharashtra, the institute has been approved by both the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) of the Government of India, New Delhi. Thakur Institute of Aviation Technology offers the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) program, a B.Sc. program, and an industrial Science Diploma that are all accredited by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. To get admission to the AME course, candidates should meet the last educational qualification set by the institute. Aspirants should complete Class 12 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (PCM) or Diploma. The AME course is offered in three specialisations which are B1.1 (Heavy Aeroplane & Turbine Engine), B2 (Avionics) and B1.3 (Helicopter & Turbine Engine). The duration of the course is two years and it is a certificate course.
