Is BE/BTech at University College of Engineering, Arni Worth the Investment?

Here's what current students and alumni have to say:

    Placement and Internships:
    * Almost 20% of students get placed directly, while around 40% secure off-campus placements.
    * Some notable companies that visited the campus include IBM, TCS, Infosys, HCL, and CTS.
    * The highest package offered was INR10 Lacs per annum, with an average salary ranging from INR2-INR5 Lacs per annum.

    Faculty and Curriculum:
    * Faculty members are knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated to student growth.
    * The curriculum is based on Anna University syllabus, which may require additional effort to stay competitive in the job market.
    * Practical exposure is limited, but students are encouraged to participate in projects and workshops outside of regular classes.

    Infrastructure and Facilities:
    * The college has modern computer labs, well-maintained classrooms, and a decent library.
    * Hostel facilities are good, with a capacity of 60 students per department.
    * Food in the mess hall is average, and some students prefer eating outside.

    Additional Information:
    * Cultural events and fests are regularly organized, providing opportunities for socializing and talent showcase.
    * The college offers scholarship options based on family income and CGPA.
    * Nearby hospitals and medical facilities are accessible, ensuring students' health and safety.

Based on these reviews, it appears that while the university has its strengths (knowledgeable faculty, modern infrastructure), there are areas where improvement is needed (placement rates, curriculum relevance). Students who value academic rigor and hands-on experience might find this institution suitable, but those seeking higher placement rates might want to consider alternative options.

I am satisfied with its faculty members.
Placements: Almost 20% of students got placed in this course. Around 40% of students got placed off-campus. Many students prepare for off-campus interviews. IBM offers internships in this course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available. In our department, staff members are very close to students. We can access the laboratory when we have a free lunch break. I am a day scholar but I stayed in the hostel for a weak. In our college, an NSO camp is also conducted. Classrooms are very neat as compared to other tiers 3 colleges.
Faculty: Faculty members are very friendly, and they always clarify our doubts. This college follows Anna University syllabus which is not enough for students to ready industrial-ready. Semester exams are not heavy and it is easy to score well if we study properly.

The college is not bad, but there is a need for improvement.
Placements: Nearly 20 to 30 percent of students get placed. The highest salary pack will be 10lk per annum. Here, they need to improve the placement and internships. Many faculty in this college are helping us to attend symposium, internships and placement. Maximum IT companies will visit our college for placement.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is free on the campus. All the labs and classrooms are well-developed. Food afforded in the mess hall is not so bad. There are both NSS and NSO. The camp activities will happen per year. The hostel facility is too good. They provide nonveg 2 times a week.
Faculty: The faculties help us and guide us in a good way. We can gain more knowledge and skills. The semester exams are not too difficult to crack. For 2 years, they take us for the industrial visit many companies and industries related to our discipline.
Other: There are many co-curricular activities held.

Absolutely satisfied because of placements and culture.
Placements: Almost 40 students were placed including all departments of my batch. The highest package is Rs 5 LPA and the lowest was Rs 2 LPA. Companies such as TCS, Infosys, CTS and HCL came for recruitment. The top roles offered were of developer and assistant system engineer Trainee.
Infrastructure: Well maintained campus with good lab facilities. Enough lab facilities with Wi-Fi. Classrooms are good and spacious. Library facilities are good enough. Mess and hostel facilities are average, don't expect much. Good play area for all kind of sports. Canteen is good.
Faculty: Knowledgeable faculty members for each subject with practical guidance. Course and curriculum is relevant to each other. It makes students ready for facing the IT industry. In semester exams, we need to work hard to get excellent marks.
Other: Cultural events and farewells are conducted annually. Scholarship facilities are available.

Our institution is good, and all resources are available. I suggest you to utilise them maximum.
Placements: The mechanical engineering department is not good regarding placements. Most of the students got placed through off-campus interviews with an average salary of Rs. 20,000 per month. Companies like Renault Nissan, Delhi, TVS, Caparo, IIT Madras Entrepreneurship, etc., visit here for placements. Most of the students focus on exams like GATE, RRB, etc. About 3 students out of 49 students got an internship in IIITDM Kancheepuram. One of my friends and I got admission in IIT through GATE exam to pursue M.Tech.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available on the campus. However, it is available in the hostel. The thermal lab is not good, and most of the machines do not work. However, other labs work properly. Classrooms are comfortable to sit, and many fans and lights are available in them. The library is good, and I think most of the technical and non-technical books are available with standards. So, students just need to do is they have to utilise them. The canteen is not good, and medical facilities are available immediately. Sports and games depend on students interest.
Faculty: Some of the mechanical department faculty members are well educated with PhD. They are very helpful to students, and all the things depend only on your interest. Faculty members focus on enthusiastic students. If you are not interested, none of them takes care of you.
Other: Initially, I don't have any intention to choose this department. However, after I joined it, I am very much excited about mechanical engineering. So, my best advice is you should do more research about your department to choose, and it is important.

I am satisfied to be a part of this college.
Placements: During our period, placements were not that good. We have to go to Anna University Chennai Guindy campus for placements. I was shortlisted for CTS, but I couldn't make it. Recruitments will be done directly from Anna University Guindy campus.
Infrastructure: Classrooms were good with good ventilation. The infrastructure of our college was pretty good, and the way it was designed is average. The library was also good with many books. A proper canteen was not available during our period, so we go out of the campus for snacks.
Faculty: It is a government college, but the teachers are good. They are not friendly, but they behave like as if it is a school. They are well-knowledgeable and helpful, and they mould us in a very good way. Their quality of teaching was also pretty good. Overall, the course curriculum is good.
Other: Events during our period were pretty average, but it could have been improved a bit. We were treated like school children. Fests and events were not given much importance. Fest enhances energy and gives relaxation to students, so I would suggest better to improve those event standards.

It offers a good environment for self-studies.
Placements: About 40% of the students got placed in the year 2019. In the year 2020, placement works are done in a full-fledged manner. The highest salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 3.37 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TCS and Infosys visit our campus for placements. Top roles, like software engineer and system engineer, are offered to the students. The highest salary package offered in our course is 3.37 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Students do an internship on their own, and the college gives the assistance.
Infrastructure: Computer labs are well equipped with good working systems and air-conditioned facility. Totally 3 labs are presently working, and each contains about 50 average systems. Classrooms are well ventilated, and it provides continuous staff availability. There is power interruptions do not occur. The library is provided with about 2,000 books for all departments, and students use it efficiently.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are highly knowledgeable. Staff members are tested every year on their performance, so everyone is qualified. Their teaching quality is based on the results our college produces every year. Our course curriculum is as per Anna University. It also encourages online courses to students to make them easily available to industries. Companies provide training for students on the basis of their performance only.
Other: I have chosen this course because I was in a constant mood of joining the IT field. My course is completely easy only when I am ready to accept all the ups and downs, and it makes me bold to attend the interview. Nothing should be improved in our course. Our college conducts events like a cultural event, farewell, and it supports students to join in neighbouring colleges events. Campus crowd is not that much appreciable as the intake every year is only 60 per department. Scholarships are available every year on family income and CGPA basis. It is located in a remote area near Arani, and things are quite developing day by day. It would surely be a great one soon.
