Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of University Institute of Technology?

    A:
    {Source: B.Tech students & alumni]

The university has a relaxed dress code and allows outside movement for girls within restricted timings. However, there are limited sports facilities and additional expenses for books, paid compulsory courses, and eating out. The college has a hygienic mess and cooking arrangement, and attendance policies may result in penalties for incomplete attendance. The majority of students are from the home state, and there is no discrimination among students. The academic schedule is moderate with 5-15 lectures per week, and teaching methodologies include textbook-based lectures and case studies. The college has a well-stocked library and provides research and reading resources. Security measures include guards and CCTV cameras, but outsiders can enter the campus without permission. The college has a strict policy against ragging and requires authorization to leave the hostel premises. All modes of transportation are available from the campus.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of the college appears to be mixed. Some reviewers have mentioned that the infrastructure is good, with well-equipped laboratories, good classrooms, a wide range of study materials in the library and good hostel facilities. However, other reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of the infrastructure, such as the quality of food in the canteen, the availability of medical facilities and the condition of some hostels.

Summary: While the infrastructure of the college seems to be generally good, there are some areas that require improvement, such as the quality of food and medical facilities. Overall, the college appears to have a good set of facilities and resources for students.

    UIT, University of Burdwan Review.
Placements: 35 percent of students got placement. 25 lpa is the highest package, 3 lpa is the least package, and 6 lpa is the average package. Amazon, Wipro, and IBM are also present in many companies. About 10% of students have internships in different companies. And the top role in my subject is assistant engineer.
Infrastructure: The department has good facilities, including a wifi, lab, and class room, and the library has more than fifty thousand books. The hostel has good catering and canteen. For medical facilities, there are separate medical centers where everything is free. There is an auditorium and gymnasium for games.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified; all have PhDs and are working on various research projects. They are very helpful. In our curriculum, a student is well versed in every subject, which he can later go and work in the industry. We have the best chance of passing the semester exam, but on average, 75% of students succeed.
Other: I am very fond of physics and electrical engineering, so I chose the electrical engineering subject. This is a subject that is the mother branch of all subjects. Almost all subjects can be worked from electrical engineering subject. In our college, many extras have NCC. Also, public and private are not friends. Along with studies, there are two big festivals of the year. One is Technical Fest.

UIT Burdwan: Good or bad review?
Placements: Fifty percent of students were placed last year, with the highest package being 12 LPA, which was off-campus, and the lowest package was 2.8 LPA. The companies that come to our college are mainly from Kolkata. For the civil department, a few companies visit and offer jobs in the range of 4 to 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good enough, but unfortunately, it is not well maintained. Our hostel is average in terms of infrastructure. There is no Wi-Fi in the college, only Ethernet in the computer labs. The college doesn't have a basketball court, which is disappointing for sports enthusiasts.
Faculty: The faculty in the computer science department is good compared to other departments. Since this college is autonomous, students have less pressure regarding academics, but you need to study a little more to achieve good grades. The curriculum follows an old syllabus, so if you are targeting placement, you must dedicate extra time to learning from other sources.
Other: I chose this course as it seemed like a good option compared to other private colleges since it is an autonomous semi-government college. The fest at this college feels more like an annual function of a school.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Honestly speaking the placements are not good in my college. Last year only 50-60% students were placed with the highest package of 7.5 LPA and the lowest of 3.16 LPA. The average package is also not good and lucrative. Most of the companies visiting were mostly startup companies offering the role of software developer. As compared to the last year, around 80% students from the batch of 2023 were placed which was comparatively good with the highest package of 10 LPA and lowest of 2.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of my department is not good and at par. The classrooms are very old with desks being as old as you can imagine, forget wi-fi facilities and the labs. You can spot bird litter everywhere on the desks in the rooms. The hostels are the only good thing for the price charged by the college which includes facilities like clean bathrooms and a common room where you can play indoor games like carrom, Ludo, etc.
Faculty: Some faculty members are knowledgeable while the others are not. They are very helpful and qualified with at least an M.Tech degree. The curriculum depends on you, if you are passionate about a particular department then it would not be a bad deal. Every course here is designed for the students to become industry ready. The semester exams are of mid level, you can easily pass them by studying the previous year question papers. The passing percentage varies department to department with highest being that of IT Department.

Overall, you can enjoy the college experience if you have a good peer group.
Placements: College is decent for placements and provides opportunities to sit for interviews with different companies. The placement packages range from 2.5 Lacs to 6.5 Lacs. If you are dedicated and have the necessary skills, you will secure a placement.
Infrastructure: Hostel and mess facilities for boys, like at AJC, are well-maintained by student representatives. However, the labs and classrooms are not up to the mark. The AC is in good working condition, so you can use your own system comfortably.
Faculty: In terms of faculty, the CSE department is supportive. Teachers like SB Sir, SGP, and DD are especially good mentors regarding their behavior and knowledge. The course curriculum is balanced—not too heavy but not too light.
Other: Some events, such as fests, farewell, and freshers, are organized by students, except for the fest.

If you live near Burdwan and want to pursue a degree in B.Tech, this college is the best.
Placements: Placements are very good. But you have to study to get placed. If you don't study, then you won't get placed. So ace your semesters. The average package in CSE will be 5–6 lacs per annum. And the highest package this year is 14 lacs per annum. Your placement will be decided by your hard work.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure in my department are very good. Free Wi-Fi is available on the college campus. Classrooms and labs are well designed. You will also find a variety of books in the library regarding your studies. Hostel facilities are also available. The quality of food needs some improvement. And the infrastructure of medical facilities also needs some attention. That's it.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified; that's why they are teachers at a B.Tech. college. And about their behavior towards us, I will say they are very helpful and kind towards us. And about the semester exams, yes, they are tough if you don't study, but if you study, they will be easy for you .
Other: I chose my course because I didn't get CSE. Everything is better in my course. I don't wish to improve my course because I am not the one who will decide what the syllabus will be. Yes, fests and events are held here. Scholarships are also available .

UIT: The experience you should have at least once.
Placements: You see, I am from CSE. So have some CSE depth. Most the placements this year were not so good, but many of our seniors got placed in companies like TCS, Cloud Kaptan, etc. And they will take the entire HR round and you will get the PPO. The average salary was 4 LPA this year, and we hope that after some time the recession will decrease and the placements will increase.
Infrastructure: I would say the campus is small. There are not many things here. But yes, there are many computer labs and the library, and you can borrow any book at any time. The hostel is also good. The thing I love most about the hostel is the friends you will make, and the social atmosphere is good. There is also a canteen but take my word: don't eat there; the quality is not good. Yes, but the senior mess has good food. And one important part is that the first-year boys hostel is far from the campus so you have to take an autorickshaw to the campus.
Faculty: The faculty are good and very supportive; they will never let you down. There teaching method is also very good. I would say the course curriculum is rather outdated. The semester exams do not put much pressure on the students. Just listen to the faculty; all the things are taught in class itself. The passing marks are 40 out of 100 in semester exams.
