It has uncooperative administration and no placements, but cultural societies are great.
Placements: It is a government institution established years back, but there are no placements in the college for any department. Students are basically left to fend for their own selves after graduation to go into the cooperate world. There are no placement camps, internship opportunities, or future career seminars to guide students into their respective fields. Hence, most of the students have to look out for their own opportunities outside while enjoying their college life. There are no companies affiliated or even come to college for recruitment purposes because it is an undergraduate college. However, the college has a great reputation and image in the market, hence having it on your CV definitely gives an edge when applying to companies and jobs. The name and reputation of the college improve the background and is definitely helpful.
Infrastructure: There is no specific Wi-Fi for college, but a government public Wi-Fi named Pink City only allows a maximum of 1 hour per day of usage. Workings of the college are done by LAN services of internet. Hence no particular Wi-Fi is available. There is a BCA lab in our department for computer classes with good enough equipment. Our college buildings are quite old and have an atmosphere of the 90s, which can be aesthetic and very ethnic. The campus is flourished with greenery and nature, which is very serene to sit and relax. I like the campus because of its well-maintained greenery, flowers, and plants. There is a similar old library with rusty doors, but there is a good book collection with a relatively quiet environment. The hostel has a lot to improve. The buildings here are also old, and the rooms are very small. The mess food is digestible, but at times, food served is either undercooked, overcooked, too oily, smelly, or sometimes faulty. Measurements are supposedly being taken to improve the quality, but I could not see visible results. There is a lot of dust, despite having workers working well. Monkeys often knock down the dustbins, and water clogging is common. At times, there is no water in the entire wings, so students have to go to other wings for basic facilities. The new recently built hostel building is quite good and comparatively way better. The hostel is a compromising stay house, but it is manageable if you have price restraints as the fee is affordable. If you can adjust with average food, below-average hygiene, small rooms, and rigid timings, then you can opt for the hostel at a very affordable price.
Faculty: Classes are barely conducted by the teachers of the commerce department. They are barely useful because most of the actual classes are just recitations of topics and things from different books. The syllabus is never covered completely by just a book, which leads to the requirements of purchasing several different books for a couple of topics each, which is quite unfeasible. Hence, most of the classes go in vain because it is only about the mere recitation of bookish things from different books. Both English medium and Hindi medium students are combined. Hence it becomes quite difficult and confusing for the other medium when the teacher is well-versed in one medium only. Mostly, teachers teach in Hindi terms. However, if you study on your own with your own research or outside coaching, then the scope of the syllabus is great. Topics like income tax and company law are well-adapted to help in further future courses which students might opt for. The paper pattern of exams is relatively good as it covers all important topics from each unit. In B.Com Hons, there are 10 questions, 2 questions from each unit with 20 marks per question. Students have to attempt one question from each unit, and there are 5 units. Questions are good enough, but the marking of Rajasthan University is quite strict. I have seen the highest scores in commerce to be between 75% to 80% at most, with 33% as passing marks. There are no backs in Hons, and students directly fail if they are unable to secure passing marks.
Other: Despite the lack of placements and other disadvantages of the college, I like the cultural societies of our college. There are 9 cultural societies in the college, and all of them make up for the below-average facilities for the college. Cultural societies have great skilled seniors and groups of like-minded people that conduct regular meetings. They strive to make the most of college life by enjoying and growing their skills. They go to state and national level competitions and win them while providing great exposure and a platform for the underlying talent and skills. Societies are very hardworking and the best part of the college. The annual cultural fest of the college named Veethika, managed by the societies, is a great platform to put your skills into action. I am a commerce student, but I couldn't get any fruitful theoretical subject knowledge in college. Societies provide me with the practical applications of all cooperate skills in events like planning, organising, managing, directing, coordinating, marketing, PR activities, leadership skills, time management, multi-tasking, etc. The administration is very supportive, not only to the students who are bringing glory to the college but also to the normal students. The basic administration task takes many days to get done as being a government college, the workings of it are very slow. Even for the most trivial of documentation, they make you run errands and keep on redirecting from one place to another. I would recommend the college only for the experience of the cultural societies as it is the only good thing in the college. I hope they get the respect they deserve for all their hard work and achievements.

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for BBA students at Maharani College?

A:
{Source: BBA students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, the success rate of the placement cell at Maharani College is moderate. Here's what they had to say:

* Around 10% of the students got placed, with salaries ranging from INR20,000 to INR40,000 per month.
* Some students reported that the placement cell is "very efficient" and helps secure jobs for students.
* However, others felt that the placement opportunities are limited, and top recruiting companies do not visit the campus.
* One student noted that the college does not provide direct internships, but some organizations come for campus recruitment.
* Another student mentioned that around 150 students got placed in their course, indicating that the placement cell is somewhat effective.

Overall, while the placement cell appears to be making efforts to secure jobs for students, the success rate could be improved. It seems that students need to rely on other means, such as seeking out job openings independently, to find employment after graduating.

Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Maharani College?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Programs at Maharani College

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Maharani College is:

* Limited: Most students agree that there is no dedicated placement cell specifically for B.A. students. The college does not provide on-campus placements, and students need to find internships and job opportunities on their own.
* Average: While the college does organize internships and provides career counseling, these efforts are not exclusive to B.A. students, and the outcome varies from student to student.
* No special treatment: According to some reviewers, there is no special treatment for B.A. students when it comes to placements. Students need to compete for opportunities along with students from other streams (BBA and BSc).

Here are some quotes from students and alumni that summarize their experience:

"The placement chances for our course are really less in any college. I don't know whether there is even a placement cell for arts students." - Student
"Our college does not provide placements for B.A students. Almost 70% of students get placed in our college, but it's only for BBA and BSc students." - Alumni
"I don't know whether there is even a placement cell for arts students in our college. We have to arrange internships and placements ourselves." - Student

Overall, while the college does provide some assistance with internships and career counseling, the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Maharani College is limited, and students need to take initiative to secure job opportunities themselves.
