A college where you can enjoy when your take IT or CSC not for civil and mechanical students.

Placements: If you are from IT or CSC, then I can say this is the best placement offering college without a second thought with an average gross around 4 LPA. For civil, mechanical it's difficult to get into the core, but you can easily get placed in top service IT companies. The core companies will be taking an only small number, so you need luck as well as some good knowledge.

Extraordinary teachers and their methods were fabulous. Many offers motivate students.

Placements: The placements were quite good but not enough. The highest salary offered was 12 lacs per annum and the lowest salary offered were 3.5 lacs per annum. The most of the product companies which has B.Ed visited our campus and offered internship. The placement cell is very useful. We can gather the information which is related to the placements without any delay.

It is really a good college to study.

Placements: The college has good networking with IT companies and some core companies too. As a result, any student without arrear will get an offer guaranteed. Even after passing out from the college with one offer, the placement committee keeps in touch with you and provide better offers which happened in my case. Average salary around 4 LPA in 2015 is provided and must probably have increased.

I am absolutely satisfied with its distance.

Placements: The placement in Chennai is too tough to get. Even if we got placed in a company, we wouldn't get the call letter. TVS, Sundaram-Clayton, Amazon, Zoho. etc., are the companies that visit the college. There is a placement cell as well in the college. They train the students effectively with a good communicative English.

It is one of the top colleges in Chennai.

Placements: Around 90% of the eligible students got placed in my batch. The highest package is around Rs. 6.50 LPA, and the average package is about Rs. 3.5 LPA, while the lowest package is around Rs. 3 LPA. The companies like TCS, Wipro, UST global, Infosys, Zoho Corporation, Capgemini, Scope International came to the campus for placements. Programmer, technical member staff, software engineer, graduate engineer trainee were some of the roles offered to the students.

The college for the students is good to start for gaining the good knowledge.

Placements: The placements are mostly of IT consulting services, and fewer core companies visit the campus. The maximum salary offered as of now was 5.5 lakhs per annum, and the lowest was 2.5 lakhs per annum. The placement is high for CSE compared to the other departments. The second highly placed department is ECE followed by EEE and the other departments.

I felt that there are good placement and good teaching in the college.

Placements: The placements are good. I feel, it has very good placements after getting placed through campus because it is very hard to get jobs outside the campus and I would even recommend the college to bring the core companies which are suitable for the particular student, and he is satisfied.

A review of Velammal Engineering College, Chennai.

Placements: They are bringing good companies on the campus and are making their best in the placements. As a student, I can assure it. But there is one disappointment, they only target how many are placed, and they doens't matter what the company, how is it everthing. The good companies like Amazon, Zoho, Sirius, JUSPAY, a lot more product companies and service companies like CTS, Wipro, Infosys, etc., are coming to the campus to hire the students.

Unsatisfactory placements in 2017, average faculty, and good infrastructure and facilities

Placements: The placements for our senior batch weren't satisfactory. TVS Motors was the only established and the only core company to offer jobs. Only 1 student out of the entire batch got selected this year in TVS. The package offered was 4.5 LPA. Some startup companies too visited our campus, their packages ranging from 2.5 to 4 LPA. From the mechanical department, 20 students got selected for Infosys with a package of 3.5 LPA and 1 for Wipro for the same package. The students aren't offered internship f...

Overall, moderate staff, good placement and infrastructure.

Placements: IT companies like CTS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Zoho etc. visited the college. There's a good intake in IT companies but is low when compared to the previous year intake. Core companies like Delphi TVS, RLE International, Turbo Energy Ltd recruit the students in Automobile. The college does not provide internships. The mechanical course had some other offers additionally to the automobile.

Good placements (mostly service companies) in 2016

Placements: Almost all service companies came for placements in 2016. CTS, Wipro and Infosys came for placements on day 1 and the average salary offered by them was about 3 lacs per annum and they recruited around 55% of the students. Companies like Zoho and Mu Sigma came for placements before the main placements begun. The highest salary offered was by Amazon at about 7.5 lacs per annum. No core companies came as far as ECE was concerned. Almost all students who were interested in placements got placed but...

A good college if you really have nerves of steel

Placements: Let's face the truth here. No college in this country can "guarantee" you placements in global companies. The days of mass recruitment are long gone. In this day and age, placements are purely based on one's knowledge, skills, extracurricular and social activities. Note that I haven't included CGPA and grades. Companies (especially MNCs) do not hire with just. A few reputed companies visit V.E.C. for recruitment, but most of them are service-based companies (e.g. TCS, Wipro, etc.) and only a few...

A good choice for a good career development.

Placements: The placements went very well for our as well as our senior's batches. Almost 90% of the students who were eligible got placed. The placement will mostly be targeted on product and core companies. Some companies that visit our campus will provide internship to students even before completion of their curriculum. The package will range from 2.5 lakhs/annum till 8-9lakhs/annum. Students will be trained very well for the placements. And the college has a lot of tie ups with many companies regardin...

Great faculty members and good placements.

Placements: Placements in my batch were very good with around 92% placed. The highest salary package offered was 12 lakh per annum and the average was 6 lakh per annum I guess. The management team arranged a lot of companies to visit the campus so that the maximum number of students would get placed. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Aricent, Accenture, Deloitte, Oracle and lots more. For engineers, roles offered were that of a project engineer or software engineer.

A nightmare for an engineer.

Placements: Whatever ambition you have in life and whatever specialisation you study, you will be taught C, C++, Java and will be brainwashed to get placed in an IT Software Service company, only to satisfy the placements records of the college. The students get internships on their own and the college doesn;t support the students. The students aren't hired through domain specific interviews. A three-day slot occurs where bulk recruitment takes place.

Trend and scenario of Velammal -2017.

Placements: I am a core person, but got placed in an IT company. In Tamil Nadu, the scenario of core companies looking for on-campus placement drive is minimal when compared with the previous year. But we will even get some companies in forthcoming months. The average salary offered is around Rs. 4.5 lpa.

It is okay to join but the faculty doesn't teach with proper examples.

Placements: The placements are good, but they provide placements only in IT sectors. So it's fair but according to our aim, it is not good. So the college has to take responsibility about this query of the students. But if they provide for non-IT sectors, the placement will be very good.

Good college and worst hostel with great faculty and very good placement. Recommended.

Placements: The placement was very nice and about 70% people might have got placed. The highest salary is 6.5 lakhs, the lowest is 2.7 lakhs and the average is 3 lakhs. TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Zoho, Athena Health and 70 more companies visited the campus. The roles offered were mixed, and about 1% students got the internship offer.

Medium grade college to study.

Placements: In our college, there are good placements for the IT sectors. But the core companies visit rarely. But in IT, they recruit in large numbers. The companies are Infosys, Wipro, CTS, etc. The highest salary is 3.8 LPA. Only a few students had done their internship because in our college they won't give permission to all, as the internship duration is too much.

Review about my college: Velammal Engineering College.

Placements: 80% students got placed in the day one slot. CTS, Wipro and Infosys came for the day one placements. Other companies like TVS, Zoho, Aricent and Soloris also came, and more than 90% students got placed in our batch with an average salary of 3.6 lakhs per annum. More than 100 companies visited our college, but the core companies are less in numbers. The college is also having a separate placement training cell.
