Department of Information Technology- VEC : One of the good campuses in Chennai.

Placements: When compared to the previous year, the placement for our batch went really well. More than 85% of the students got placed in the first and second slot. Some companies to mention are: CTS, Wipro, Accenture, Infosys, Zoho, Verizon, Athena health, etc. had visited and even core companies like TVS, Lister technologies had visited for recruitment.

Gurukul Velammal. Our home away from home.

Placements: Placements for our batch were very good. Almost 85% of the eligible students from our batch got placed and also we had 3 companies (CTS, Infosys, Wipro) visiting our college on the day 1 slot. Following that, we have got a lot more companies visiting continuously. Almost 109 companies visited our college in our batch right from August to May so that the students who were not eligible in the odd semester can clear their arrears in the even semester and take part in the campus. ...

Really good placements and opportunities.

Placements: Placements were almost 100% in our batch and almost the same percentage in the senior batch. The placements are great. The highest salary was about 6 LPA and the lowest was about 3 LPA. The average placements package was 4 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Atos, IBM, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, other big MNCs and a few start-ups also came for recruitment purposes. Students here mostly were offered tech support roles by big MNCs and start-ups came with development roles and coding roles. Internship...

Among them, only 50% of the students receive the call-letters from the company. 3. The highest salary is 12LPA and the lowest is around 3 LPA. 4. Less than 10% of the students get internships from the college.

I have mixed reviews for this college, even though campus placements and coursework is good, but there is not much of a campus life to cherish in the campus. It is all about studies and almost no extracurricular activities. Things such as sports are not much encouraged, not even 10% of importance is given to sports as given to tests and coursework. Teachers at times are not competent in explaining certain aspects of the course that may happen at times with everyone but the faculty members do not...

Fine and inspiring. The Management did their best. Infrastructure is good and the faculty is friendly and motivating. There is a healthy competition among different departments in sports and academics. Got a great bunch of good friends who helped each other in all forms of life.

The best part about the college is the crowd, people are very friendly. The professors are knowledgeable and the grading system is average. Placements are excellent. The worst part is the lack of a cultural identity. There are no proper cultural event that is painful and boring to every student. Management seemed disinterested in improving college facilities and concentrated on the school instead.

The good: placements The bad: the restrictions imposed on the students (like no mobile phones allowed, no taking to the opposite gender students etc.) The ugly: constant spying to impose the bad part! I have also had some bad experiences with a few members is the faculty. It turned out that a certain department has a feud with mine and hence they were treating is badly in general.

One of the finest college where you can gather work while you work play while you play aspect. If you are correct from your side no one will question you. The library, canteen and hostel facility is also decent. The placement record is also good in this area and you can spot many students with multiple offers. The lab facility is also more than enough and we may even get chances to work in R&D projects if you are worth enough. The major advantage is that you can have staffs who are more often y...

It is one of the worst colleges ever, they are just money minded. The best advice I can give is not to go for this college unless you don't have a choice. I didn't have any choice and thus joined this college. They would fool you by displaying all sorts of fake advertisement. Don't fall into trap.

The campus life is so fascinating with beauty of the nature and the college curriculum gives us more time to spend in the sports arena like cricket or football. Coming to the important aspect of coursework, I strongly feel they cut above the rest because the quality of teaching in terms of intricacies and nuance are impressive and the faculties are good but some are mostly involved only in politics lifestyle and nothing more. Teachers are strict and the learning is immense with more focus on stu...

First, my experience in college has given me a chance to sharpen my skills in my field of choice. There have been, and there will continue to be, many opportunities to learn more ways of improving my craft as a result of my time spent in college, which I am truly thankful for. My College gave me number of opportunities to hone my skills to make me stand where I am. I'm extremely indebted to my staff for bringing out the best in me.

My college has well-equipped labs, experienced faculty members, and placement guidance is also provided. The infrastructure of the campus is good, and college buses are available at all locations in Chennai. The hostel is well maintained, and the canteen food is also hygienic. Students also participate in sports. Gym facility is provided for both boys and girls. Campus placements have companies like CTS and Infosys, which widens the students' scope internationally.

Our college is only meant to study not to enjoy the campus life, it will not help much to bring out your hidden talents like in music, dance and so on. It will not create a good platform for your talent but it will assure you for a job in a good company. This is college is so good for CSE, IT, ECE but not for mechanical because they does not give importance to placements for this branch.

Velammal is best in providing placement. Every year placement count and % is increasing and it never reduces. Definitely typical middle class parents will want their children to study here. Because here they impart Discipline along with Education. This college also supports Sports activities, it is the zonal winner in inter college sports activities for many years. Very well disciplined college with great placements. Good hostel mess. Zero ragging (unless and until we mind our own business). Mob...

Velammal engineering college is top college in Tamil Nadu. It provides good placement opportunity for engineering graduates. It has produced many top university rank holders, but for MBA you don't find good placement opportunity. So I don't recommend this college doing MBA because marketing is compulsory and most companies come for recruitment only for sales position.
