A:

B.Sc. at Vikram Deo Autonomous College: Is it a Good Choice?

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what emerges:

* Lack of Internship Opportunities: Unfortunately, none of the students in this programme have received an internship, which makes it challenging to gain practical work experience.
* No Company Recruitment: No companies have visited the college for recruitment, making it tough for students to land a job after graduation.
* Quality of Infrastructure: While the college has some decent infrastructure, such as smart classrooms and labs, the overall condition of the hostel (low quality) and lack of amenities (no Wi-Fi, limited medical facilities) might be a concern.
* Teaching Quality: Despite having well-qualified teachers, the students feel that the teachers are not supportive, and the course material may not beindustry-ready.
* Placements: Although some students from the course have secured jobs, the placement record is not impressive, and the average salary package is relatively low (Rs. 1.5 LPA).
* Campus Life: Student life seems to be quite restricted, with minimal cultural and recreational activities happening on campus.

However, some positives mentioned by students include:

* Good Teaching Qualifications: Faculty members are highly qualified, with many holding PhDs.
* Helpful Teachers: Some teachers are reported to be genuinely interested in helping students and guiding them in their studies.
* Small Batch Size: With a relatively small batch size (around 40-60 students), students might receive individual attention from professors.

Overall, while B.Sc. at Vikram Deo Autonomous College has its drawbacks, it might still be worth considering for those who prioritize quality education and are willing to put in extra effort to secure employment opportunities.

Place of education with good health, package, and friends.
Placements: 90 percent of students have been successfully passed with a good percentage. Offering CMA, CA, MBA with a good package of 4 LPA to 22 LPA. Top companies hiring include Genpact, Concentrix, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Cognizant, including the government sector as well, like Indian Oil, Nalco, and coal factories.
Infrastructure: Good hostel with Wi-Fi, library, and sports arena as well with good food at the hostel. The food was also good with a proper study atmosphere and healthy area. I suggest my friends stay at the hostel because you get the vibes of the college, and it is highly recommended.
Faculty: Good faculty with experienced teachers who were very friendly. The teaching was also good and helped me with every subject, providing proper practical and theoretical examples for better understanding and experience. Semester exams are not that difficult because we mostly get it from the lessons and the practicals we have done.
Other: Provision of scholarships and many more.

My memorable college life.
Placements: It's a government college. There are no placements offers compared to fees; there is no placement in this college as compared to others on the private campus; there are no top recruiting companies for this course; there are no top roles offered in my course on this college.
Infrastructure: Yes, they have facilities and infrastructure available for departments, e.g., wifi, labs, classrooms, library, etc. There are no quality facilities in my hostel, the quality of the food is okay; there are available mess, there are sports and games, medical facilities, etc.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant; yes, it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult because it's on the Odisha board; the pass percentage is 35% or above 35% percentage.

Pros and cons of my college.
Placements: Basically, our college isn't good enough to give the placement, and for the arts and science students, it's literally zero placements, but for commerce students, they still have some placements in the banking sector, but only 5-10% of students get placement. We also didn't get the chance for an internship too, but HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and some more offers to commerce students for internships.
Infrastructure: Now our college has become a university, so they started to renovate the infrastructure, and all the classes in the in the arts department become smart rooms with premium ceilings, premium benches, projectors, and some more facilities, but all over the college it isn't that good. The library looks premium, but it's small and doesn't have every book that we need to study, and the labs are good; we've got all the facilities in the labs. Others classrooms expect arts aren't that good, but it's fine. Our college doesn't have a canteen, but college is good for sports and games. Every year, our college conducts an annual sports meet.
Faculty: I want to assure you that some teachers are good and some are not that good in terms of behavior and also in terms of teaching quality. Not every teacher is highly qualified because in every department we've got guest faculty teachers. Some teachers are really good and highly qualified, and they help us in various ways. Philosophy is actually a good subject to learn in our college, and yes, it can help us get ready for the future. Semester exams are actually difficult, and the passing percentage is nearly around 60 percent.
Other: I wanted to go in the civil service field, so I chose this subject, and it's really helpful for us. In philosophy, we'll be able to learn about the old Vedic age and about the philosophy of Indians, Europeans, and Greeks too, so yes, it's really helpful and practical in daily life. I don't think any changes are needed for the course. We used to have seminars every week, and we also used to have philosophy festivals every 2-3 months. Campus crowd is also fine; I don't know much about Connecticut, but I can say it's decent; some students get scholarships also, and extracurricular activities are good, like our college used to hold a cultural fest 3 times a year and also competitions like drawing, essay writing, dancing, singing, and many more.

Not satisfied in this college. I suggest choosing their decision wisely.
Placements: There are 42 students pursuing this course in my batch this year. Till now, no students have gotten any internship. No companies are there for recruitment. There is no such facility offered, and no company has visited our college till now. No such role is offered.
Infrastructure: In our college, we have smart classrooms and the best teachers. We have a good adjustable Wi-Fi facility. We have labs with all specimens and spotting slides. I stay in Utkalmani Hostel, and it is of low quality with damaged washrooms, poor food, and arrogant seniors.
Faculty: Our teachers are great, well-qualified, but they are not supportive at all, although their teaching is excellent. No, this course is not helpful for students to achieve something in their life. Semester exams are easy, not too hard, not too moderate. If you study, then you can write.
Other: I chose this course to get preferred better education. Events and fests are not organized.

Safe environment and good infrastructure.
Placements: Placement is not guaranteed, as not many companies come for placement. Placement is difficult here but you can try outside the campus. Also, a very low percentage of students got placed in any company. In this course, you can try off-campus to get a job or internship.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure like Wi-Fi, a library and a computer lab are there, which is really helpful for the students and the classrooms are spacious and well maintained. There are different hostels for girls and boys. There are three boys hostels and five girls hostels. Hostel food is not that bad and you can have options for vegetarians and nonvegetarians.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and they take proper classes and complete the courses in due time. The course is curriculum-relevant and useful in the real world. Semester exams are in between easy and difficult but they come from the syllabus only so they are easy to prepare.

B.Sc. in Botany - Batch of 2025

Infrastructure is not good but facilities are good.
Placements: There are only 60 students pursuing B.Sc. in botany, and out of them, no one has got any kind of internship or placement support. No companies visit our campus. There is no package offered till now, so no idea of the package that how much everyone will get.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility and no auditorium in this campus. Hostel quality is good, but the food is not of good quality. Sports are being held on a regular basis as a playground is there. Medical facilities are not provided on the campus; there is a medical facility far from college.
Faculty: Our depth faculty members are well qualified, and they provide better education. Teachers are really very helpful towards us. Semester exam is of average level, and the pass rate is also good because the question is of basic level and the difficult level is less.
Other: I chose this course because in the future I wanna become a lecturer in botany. I think everything is fine in our depth course so no need of improvement. Events and fests are organized in our campus.
