    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Programs at Vivekananda College

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, the placement cell at Vivekananda College appears to be average and not particularly effective for B.A. programs. Here's what they have to say:

    * Limited placements: According to several reviewers, there are no placements for B.A. students, and companies rarely visit the campus for recruitment.
    * Low placement rates: One reviewer mentions that out of 65% of students, only a handful get placements, indicating a relatively low placement rate.
    * Average salary packages: Those who do manage to secure placements receive average salary packages ranging from INR1-2 Lacs per annum.
    * No internship opportunities: Reviewers mention that there are no internship opportunities available for B.A. students, making it challenging for them to gain practical experience and build their resumes.
    * Limited corporate connections: The college seems to lack strong corporate connections, which may contribute to the limited placement opportunities for B.A. students.

Overall, while Vivekananda College offers good infrastructure and facilities, its placement cell appears to be underdeveloped, limiting opportunities for B.A. students to secure employment upon graduation.

I am pursuing B.A. Programme from VNC. This is my 1st.
Placements: Number of students placed in my course is 50-60. The highest package is 20 LPA, the lowest is 4.50 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA. Google, Amazon, Accenture, and there are so many other companies recruiting our course. 40-60% students got the internship from my course. Mostly, they got selected in Amazon. Education administrators, authors, academic writers are the top roles offered in my course.
Infrastructure: My college provides free Wi-Fi, a library which provides so much knowledge regarding my course. Teachers create the application to clear students' doubts. The quality of the hostel is not bad, but I can't say it is good as I expected. But yes, the medical facilities and sports facilities are so good in my college. Like our college provides many sports opportunities. There is a kabaddi track, hockey track, and badminton court.
Faculty: The teaching quality is amazing. They are so friendly in nature and clear our doubts so patiently. Yes, we can say the course curriculum is relevant; it absolutely makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite difficult. I think the pass percentage is 49% in my course.
Other: I chose this course because it helped me open many career doors like authors, typists, and academic teachers. In every place, English is compulsory. This course helps me increase my confidence level in English. An event is held in my college after 3-4 months. There is not much campus crowd in my college. Extracurricular activities are also less in my course.

Good Campus, Moderate Academics, and Poor Placement.
Placements: Not many students get placed in our college as our college's placement cell is not that active. There are no internships being provided to the students, and even if they are, the college's placement cell does not promote much about it either. The passing-out batch usually goes for websites and apps like Indeed or LinkedIn to look for internships and jobs for themselves. The teachers are also not much involved in the placement process or providing placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very nice, though it could be better. It is, in fact, a very big campus with greenery all around and is very eco-friendly. The classrooms are big, but the furniture is very old, and the desks have writing all over them. Some of the doors to the classrooms are broken. Not all the systems or computers work in the computer labs. The washrooms are kept in poor condition, are not developed, and have no soap in the soap dispensers.
Faculty: The curriculum is nice for my course, which is Computer Science in the Bachelor of Arts program. We get to learn from the basics, like Python, to deeper levels like machine learning and more. We have additional subjects to broaden the horizons of the course and not narrow it down. The exams are held once every semester, with the usual internal examinations and external practicals.
Other: I chose this course as it provided a great combination of subjects and allowed me to learn on a larger level.

A glimpse of Vivekananda College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Last year the placement rate was 45% in the college. The top recruiter was Bank of America. The highest package was 4.2 Lacs per annum. Sales manager, customer relationship, and many more departments were available during the drive.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is okayish, not so good. The location of the college is good. There are many nearby cafes in Anand Vihar for students where they can chill. There is no college hostel available. Although you can opt for nearby PG, there are many available.
Faculty: The quality is just okayish because teachers are not student-friendly. There is a problem of attendance; you have to maintain 40 percent anyhow, otherwise you will not be allowed to give semester exams and the course curriculum is quite good; it's almost the subject of engineering or computer science.
Other: The area near the college is not safe for girls after 4 or 5 pm.

The thing that no support was given to the societies belonging to a society itself.
Placements: Students scoring 84% and above were given admission, but now CUET has come. There were no placement offers. No top recruiting companies as such. There is one recruitment cell, but it doesn't work, and everything over there is useless. There was no exposure .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was okay during my time. The garden of our college is amazing now, but slowly the college is improving. They are working on infrastructure nicely. There are no hostels other than this canteen, medical room, sports room, track, hockey track. Everything is excellent .
Faculty: Very supportive staff. Teachers are well qualified and helpful, but you know everywhere there are a few teachers who just waste the class. If I talk about the commerce department, they are amazing. So do the English, eco, and French teachers. They make everything easy by helping us out every day .
Other: My course was a B.A. programme in computer application and economics. This helped me a lot to get knowledge of both the subjects very well. I wish there was more support for the college societies as there is no help give. To them in terms of funds and room. The boring fest nobody is called from outside as such, no scholarship as such, NSS work diligently .

Dissatisfied because of a very small campus
Placements: As far as I've seen, the placements in my college are only from the placement cell of the college, and that's all, which is also not that good, so I would say the placement in this college is not something you should expect much from, especially for psychology. It is still okay for commerce students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is okay. The college campus is pretty small, so don't expect much from it, but it is still okay with the red walls and everything. However, it is still very small, and it is an off-campus college, so of course, there is no hostel. Students go for PG or flats.
Faculty: The faculty of my particular course is pretty nice as they are very qualified and knowledgeable, that's for sure. The psychology department of Vivekananda is pretty good, I would say. The curriculum and coursework are relevant and very practical. The exams are not that difficult; if you've studied enough, you'll pass easily.

Life at Delhi University girl's college.
Placements: In my college, the placements were good in 2023. Almost 35% of students were placed. The lowest package was 2 lacs, and the highest was 3.2 lacs in the computer science department. The companies were TCS and Amazon. I got an internship at Amazon for three months, so overall it was good.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is quite good for our department, as all labs are fully air-conditioned, including the library. The college has a lawn tennis ground, a marathon track, an open stage, and an auditorium. There is a nearby bus stand and an e-rickshaw stand that drops you off at the metro station.
Faculty: The college faculty is good and cooperative and helps with studies and personal problems. The college societies are quite active; I am in the dance society. The exams occur as class tests, not fixed internal exams with a schedule. The crowd is average, not so good.
