CUET PG 2025 Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security etc., Syllabus

CUET PG Data Science Syllabus 2025 released by NTA on the official website for the candidates getting admissions to the Data Science course offered by the participating universities. CUET PG DATA Science syllabus includes the topics studied in UG of Data Science course. The UG course is very vast and contains topics like Algorithm, Operating System, Computer Network, Artficial Intellingence, Cyber Security and many more. The CUET PG Application Process 2025 began on January 2, 2025, and the end date for candidates to register themselves is February 1, 2025. The exam date for CUET PG 2025 Exam is scheduled between March 13, 2025, to March 31, 2025.

Aspirants preparing for the CUET PG MTech degree programme (Data Science, Cyber Security, etc.) should start their preparation according to the Data Science syllabus mentioned below. NTA declared the CUET PG 2025 syllabus. 

i. There will be one Question Paper which will have 75 questions.
ii. All questions will be compulsory.
iii. Part B will have 75 questions based on Subject-Specific Knowledge.

CUET PG 2025 Data Science (MTQP04) Syllabus

• Set Theory & Algebra: Sets; Relations; Functions; Compositions of functions and relations, Group; Partial Orders; Boolean Algebra.
• Theory of Computations: Finite Automata and Regular Expressions, on –determinism and NFA, Properties of Regular Sets, Context free grammar: Chomsky Normal Form (CNF), Griebach
  Normal Form (GNF), Push-down automata, Moore and mealy Machines, Turing machines.
•  Digital Logic: Number representations and computer arithmetic (Fixed and floating point), Logic functions, Minimizations, Design and synthesis of combinational and sequential circuits, A/D
  AND D/A CONVERTERS.
• Computer Organization and Architecture: Machine instructions and addressing modes, ALU and data –path, CPU control design, memory interface, I/O interface (Interrupt and DMA mode),
  Instruction pipelining, Cache and main memory, Secondary storage.
•  Microprocessors and interfacing: Instructions sets, Addressing modes, Memory interfacing, interfacing peripheral devices, Interrupts. Microprocessor architecture, Instructions set and
  Programming (8085), Microprocessor applications, DMA, Interrupt and Timer.
• Programming and Data Structures: Programming in C; Functions, Recursion, Parameter passing, and Definition of data structure. Arrays, Stacks, Queues linked lists, trees, priority queues and heaps, Binary search trees.
• Algorithm: Algorithm concepts, Analyzing and design, asymptotic notations and their properties, Worst and average case analysis; Design: Greedy approach, Dynamic programming, Divide and conquer; Tree and graph transversals, Spanning trees, Shortest paths: Hashing, Sorting Searching.
• Operating System: Main functions of operating systems, Processes, Threads, Interprocess communication, concurrency, Synchronization, Deadlock, CPU scheduling, I/O scheduling,
  Resource scheduling. Deadlock and scheduling algorithms, banker’s algorithm for deadlock handling. Memory management and virtual memory. File Systems, I/O systems, DOS, UNIX and
  Windows.
• Computer Networks: OSI Model, TCP/IP model, LAN technologies (Ethernet, Token ring), Transmission media – twisted pair, coaxial cables fibre–optic cables, Flow and error control
  techniques, Routing algorithms, Congestion control, IP (v4), Application layer protocols (icmp , dns, smtp, pop, ftp, http);Sliding window protocols; Internetworking: Switch /Hub, Bridge,
  Router, Gateways, Concatenated virtual circuits, Firewalls: Network Security; Cryptographypublic key, secret key. Domain Name System.

CUET PG 2025 Data Science: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can find the general minimal eligibility criteria for MSc Data Science course below. The university-specific criteria for the same may differ, therefore candidates are advised to check the information brochure for university-specific eligibility criteria before applying for MSc Data Science Course.

Age Limit

For appearing in the CUET (PG) 2025, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent examination or appearing in 2025 irrespective of their age can appear in master’s degree programmes in the Central Universities through CUET (PG) 2025 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfil the age criteria of the University to which they are desirous of taking admission.

Educational Qualification

• MEQ for Jawaharlal Nehru University: Master's degree in Computer Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Operational Research/any branch of Science /Master of Computer Applications (MCA)/Bachelor’s degree in any branch of
  Engineering/ Technology with 55% marks. (All OBC category (non creamy layer) candidates are eligible to 10% relaxation in the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination in relation to open category. The SC/ST and Person with Disability (PWD) candidates who have passed the qualifying examination irrespective of their percentage of marks are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination.)
• MEQ for SRM University AP: A minimum aggregate score of 60% or equivalent grade point in Standard / Class X, XII and applicable/relevant UG program. CSE (MTech in AI &
  ML, MTech in Data Science) -BE/BTech in CSE/IT/SWE (or) MSc (CSE/IT) or MCA.
• MEQ for Somaiya Vidyavihar Univerisity: BE/B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engg [Electrical and Power], Electrical Engg [Electronics and Power], Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engg, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Power Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Technology, Electrical, Electronics and computer engineering, Electronics and Power, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology / Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Application, Information Science and Engineering, Information Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Information and Communication technology, Information Technology and Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering. • MEQ for Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University: Candidate must have passed B.Tech (CSE) from any recognized University or AICTE recognized Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or 5.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST Category. Candidate must have passed MCA/M.Sc(CS)/MA(CA)/M.Sc.(IT)/M.Sc.(Electronics)/ B.Tech (EC) from any recognized University or AICTE recognized Institute/College with minimum aggregate marks of 50% or 5.5 CGPA for GEN/OBC and 45% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST Category.
