Xavier School of Economics (XSE) is a component under Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB), which was established in July 2017. Functioning from the picturesque campus of XUB (city campus), this institute is functioning from the city campus of XUB. XSE currently offers a UG programme in the field of Economics which enables critical thinking, logical analysis and deep understanding of national, international and global economic issues in the students.

This institute is located amidst greenery away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is gradually emerging as an important school for education in the field of Economics in India. The students of this college volunteer for various academic school events such as workshops, seminars and have availed summer internship opportunities from prestigious organisations such as Indian institutes such as Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)-Kolkata and Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS)-Hyderabad.

In addition to a peaceful environment, the institute offers its students a lively atmosphere inside the campus with its social events, cultural activities, sports and other recreation activities. Also, all the faculty members teaching at XSE have doctorate degrees from premier universities in India and abroad.

Xavier School of Economics Admission Process

At UG level, XSE offers a full-time BSc in Economics programme. A few details around its admission process are listed below:

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 to pursue this course
• Mathematics as a subject in Class 12 is desirable for admission but is not mandatory
• Final selection is based on a Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the institute
• Candidates seeking admission need to apply online on the official website of the university (www.xub.edu.in). The university recommends that students must apply via a computer with an active internet connection using a computer for application with Chrome, IE-V11 and Mozilla as best suited browsers.

Xavier School of Economics Courses

Xavier School of Economics offers a three-year full-time BSc (Hons) in Economics programme to the students at UG level. Complying with the UGC guidelines, this course is offered in a range of interdisciplinary courses such as Literature, Environmental Economics, Political Economy of India, History, Sociology and Computer Application. Started its operations in 2017, none of the batches of Xavier School of Economics for its BSc (Hons) in Economics course has passed out yet. Hence, there have been no final placements offered by the institute so far. However, the institute has mentioned on its official website that recently three students were selected for an internship at summer school of the London School of Economics in Computational Methods in Financial Mathematics in 2018 and multiple students have received internship opportunities from prestigious organisations such as Indian institutes such as Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)-Kolkata and Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS)-Hyderabad

Xavier School of Economics Scholarships 2021

Xavier School of Economics offers a number of scholarships to the students seeking admission to BSc (Hons) in economics via XUB. All the details regarding these scholarships offered are mentioned below:

• Students with 85% aggregate in Class 12 are offered 50% course/tuition fee waiver during admission. This offer is valid for the subsequent years as well if the student attains at least 8.0 CGPA in every year
• Meritorious scholarships are also offered to the topper of each university programme at the end of the year which leads to a course/tuition fee waiver of 50%
• Three students from SC/ ST/ economically backward/ minority categories get a 50% course/tuition fee waiver
