The CEED 2025 application form is currently open for admission to M.Des and PhD courses. CEED 2025 exam will be conducted on January 19. Check all key updates about CEED 2025 admission here.

CEED Admission 2025 - IIT Bombay has started the admission process for CEED 2025. The CEED 2025 application form is open with regular fees from October 1-31; with late fees, the last date to register is November 8, 2024.

The application form is for admission to the M.Des and PhD courses offered by participating colleges.

The CEED 2025 exam will be conducted on January 19, 2025.

The exam will have two parts - 1) computer-based Part A, and 2) offline-based Part B.

CEED Admission 2025 - Important Dates

The important dates for CEED 2025 are given on the IIT Bombay admission portal. The candidates can also check the dates in the CEED 2025 information brochure. 

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria I need to meet to apply for UCEED 2025?

A:

To apply for UCEED 2025, candidate must the following THREE criteria:

Criterion 1 – Age limit: The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Criterion 2 – Number of attempts: The candidate is allowed to attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years.

Note that the UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.

Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or
equivalent) in 2024 or should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2025. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.

Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2025.

Q:   How many students appear for CEED exam?

A:
A total of 6037 candidates registered for CEED 2023, out of which 4,910 candidates appeared, and 1,886 candidates qualified in the exam. By comparison, in 2020, 5,564 students took CEED exam and 1,724 qualified the exam. Common Entrance Examination for Design was given by 5,491 in 2019 and out of this number, 1,179 candidates qualified the design entrance test. Along with national-level exams like NID that and NIFT, CEED is among the most popular PG entrance exams in the country. The application form for CEED 2024 will open tentatively in the last week of September 2023.

Q:   Will I be allocated a CEED 2025 merit rank if I do not qualify Part A?

A:

IIT Bombay will release the Part A cut-off marks for CEED 2025 on February 6, 2025.

The Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meet Part A cut-off, or in other words qualifies Part A. If the candidate fails to qualify Part A, his Part B answer booklet will not be evaluated.

Consequently, he will not be allocated a merit rank, total score, and Part B marks. 

So, if you want to be assigned a merit rank, you need to meet the cut-off score for Part A and get shortlisted. IIT Bombay will release the cut-off marks for Part A before the declaration of CEED 2025 results. 

Note that if you are not allocated a merit rank, you will not be eligible to participate in CEED 2025 counseling and seat-allotment process.

CEED Application Form 2025 

The application form for CEED 2025 is open from October 1-31; with late fees, applications will be accepted till November 8, 2025.

The application form can be submitted online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The step-wise process to fill out the application form for CEED 2025 is given below.

How to fill CEED 2025 application form

  1. Register online - The first step is online registration. Enter details like name, email ID, and mobile number. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
  2. Fill in the form - Log in to the candidate portal and fill in personal, academic, and personal details. 
  3. Select test center - Next, select THREE test centers in order of priority. The details of the CEED 2025 exam center allocated to the candidate can be checked in the CEED 2025 admit card.
  4. Upload documents - Documents, including photograph, signature, educational, and category certificates, have to be uploaded in the given format.
  5. Pay the application fee - The candidate has to pay the application fee online using net banking, debit, or credit cards.

CEED Registration 2025 - Document Checklist

The candidate will need the following documents to register for the CEED 2025 exam:

  • Recent color photograph (.jpg file). 
  • Scanned copy of your signature (.jpg file).
  • Scanned copy of degree/diploma certificate (.pdf file), if the course is completed. If you do not have the final degree certificate, upload a copy of the final year mark list or the provisional certificate. If the course is not completed, upload a certificate from the Principal of your college/Head of the department in the format given in Appendix 1 (.pdf file). 
  • Candidates applying under the EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL category must produce valid category certificates (.pdf file) issued by appropriate authorities. EWS/OBC-NCL certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2024. If selected for admissions, the candidates must produce a category certificate valid during the following year, i.e., issued on or after April 1, 2025. The format of the OBC-NCL certificate is given in Appendix 2. The format of the SC/ST certificates is given in Appendix 3. The format of the EWS certificate is given in Appendix 4.
  • Candidates applying under the physical disability (PwD) category must produce a valid UDID (Unique Disability ID) card/certificate. If this has yet to be availed, a valid medical certificate (.pdf file) issued by the appropriate authority (see Appendices 5 to 8) must be produced. The certificate must clearly state that the disability is at least 40%, to avail the reservation. Dyslexic candidates are required to additionally obtain a certificate from the Principal/Head of their College/Institution as per Appendix 9 (.pdf file). For Dyslexic candidates, the certificate must clearly state that the nature of disability is SEVERE and PERMANENT.
  • PwD candidates requiring the services of a scribe and/or compensatory time during the exam must upload a request letter as per Appendix 10 (.pdf file).
  • Candidates whose name is not the same as the name on the degree/diploma certificate must produce a gazette notification, or a marriage certificate or scanned pages of the passport reflecting the change of name (.pdf file).

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates applying for admission to the M.Des program must meet the following eligibility criteria for CEED 2025.

  • Academic qualification - The candidate must have passed a graduate degree/diploma/postgraduate degree program of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2 level) or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2025, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma program (10+5 level) by July 2025.
  • Age limit - There is no age limit for CEED 2025. Also, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times.

Note: The eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from those for appearing for CEED. The candidate is, therefore, recommended to go through the eligibility criteria of the specific institute they are applying for admission.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 entrance exam?

A:

To appear in the CEED 2025 exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED. The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED have been explained below. Qualifying exam - The candidate must have completed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate programme of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2). Or, Appearing for the final exam of such a programme by July 2025 or, Must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5) level by July 2024. Age limit - No upper age limit. Number of Attempts - The CEED exam can be attempted any number of times. It is incumbent on the candidate to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling out the CEED application form. It is because if the candidate doesn't meet any of the criteria, then he or she can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.

Q:   How many exam centres can I select when applying for CEED 2025?

A:

The application form for CEED 2025 will OPEN soon.

When filling out the form, the candidate should compulsorily choose THREE cities in the order of preference. 

Please note that there is no option to select an exam centre when filling out the form; the candidate can only select an exam city. The allotment of exam centre, in this case, will be based on a number of factors like city option selected by the candidate, address, and seat intake available across various exam centres.

Also, an exam city will have one or more exam centres.

Q:   Is it mandatory to clear both Part A and B of CEED exam?

A:

Yes, it is mandatory to clear both parts of CEED exam. Part B answer booklets are evaluated only for candidates who qualify Part A. Some of the important points that candidates must keep in mind regarding CEED exam pattern include: All questions of CEED Part-A and -B will be displayed on a computer. While candidates have to enter the answers for Part-A in the computer, the answers for Part-B have to be written in the provided answer booklet. To answer each question asked in NAT section of CEED Part-A, candidates need to use a virtual keyboard. No choices for correct answer are shown in this section. Each MSQ contains four choices, out of which one or more answers are correct Each MCQ contains four choices, out of which only one answer is correct Scribble pads will be provided by invigilator for rough work for Part-A of the exam. The pads have to be returned after the exam is over. Each question in Part-B of CEED exam is mandatory In Part-B, candidates are allowed to use items such as colour pencils, crayons and sketch pens unless otherwise specified in a question.

Q:   What happens if I apply for CEED 2025 but do not meet the eligibility criteria?

A:

The eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2025 exam is prescribed by IIT Bombay. The criteria are outlined in the information brochure. The candidate needs to carefully go through the criteria and only apply for admission if they meet the requirements.

Note that if the candidate fails to meet the CEED 2025 eligibility criteria, he or she could be disquafied at any stage of the admission process. Also, the participating colleges will have a document verification session, where all documents will be cross-checked.

CEED 2025 Exam Cities

IIT Bombay will conduct the CEED 2025 exam in 27 cities. The candidate has to select three exam cities in order of priority when filling out the CEED 2025 application form.

The name and address of the CEED 2025 exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned on the admit card.

CEED Answer Key 2025

IIT Bombay will release answer keys only for Part A. No answer leys will be released for the subjective-based Part B.

The CEED 2025 answer key (draft) will be available for download on January 21, 2025. Candidates who have any objections against the answer key can submit objections till January 23, 2025.

Objections will have to be submitted through the candidate portal only.

The answer key can be used by the candidate to check the correctness of their responses and to calculate probable scores.

The final answer key of CEED 2025 will be released on January 29, 2025.

CEED Result 2025

IIT Bombay will declare the results of CEED 2025 on March 5, 2025.

The results will be declared for all candidates who appear in the entrance exam.

However, total score and merit rank will be issued to candidates only if they meet Part A cut-off.

The cut-off marks for Part A will be released on February 6, 2025.

To check their results, the candidate needs to log in to the result portal using their registered email ID and password.

The result will also include the qualifying status of the candidate. Shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in the CEED counseling process.

CEED Counseling 2025

IIT Bombay will not conduct centralized counseling for CEED 2025; note that IIT Bombay conducts centralized counseling for UCEED 2025. 

The counseling for CEED 2025 will be conducted at an institute level by the CEED 2025 participating colleges.

Candidates who have qualified in the CEED 2025 exam are eligible to participate in the counseling process.

The participating colleges will open the CEED 2025 counseling registration form soon after the results are declared.

Note that the participating colleges may conduct additional admission rounds.
