The application fee of NID DAT 2025 for the B. Des for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates is INR 3,000. SC, ST, PwD candidates only ned to pay INR 1,500. However note that the application fees for overseas candidates seeking admission to supernumerary seats is INR 5000. In case of the M.Des programme, the application fees for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates applying for one discipline is INR 3,000. If two disciplines are chosen, the application fee is INR 6000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, PwD candidate need to pay INR 1,500 for one discipline, and INR 3000 for two disciplines.

While filling out the NID application form, candidates have to enter their personal, academic, and personal information. They are also required to upload a photograph and signature, and caste Certificate if applicable. In case of candidates seeking admission under reserved categories, they also need to upload a category Certificate. PwD category candidates will also have to upload the relevant Certificate.
The category and PwD certificates should be in PDF format and max 2 MB.

NID 2025 Syllabus:
The NID syllabus is different for different stages of the exam. The National Institute of Design (NID) never publishes any particular syllabus for NID entrance exam. But Shiksha has listed some important and relevant topics to prepare for the exam.

The NID DAT 2025 application form will open sometime in October 2024.
To fill the form, the candidate has to follow these steps:
- Get registered - The candidate had to get registered using their email id and mobile number.
- Log-in and fill the form - Next fill in all the necessary sections in the form - academic, personal, and contact details. Also, select an exam centre of your choice.
- Upload documents - Follow the specified format and specification when uploading documents like photograph and signature.
- Pay the exam fee to complete the application process. The NID DAT 2025 fee is Rs. 3000 for open, and Rs. 1500 for reserved-category candidates. Note that the late fees is 50% more than the NID 2025 application fee.
Q: What happens if I use incorrect information when filling NID DAT 2025 application form?
It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to provide correct and verifiable information during the application process. If the candidate is found to be using incorrect or couterfeir information, his or her candidature could be cancelled at any stage of the admission process. Further, if the candidate tries to influence, either directly or indirectly, to influence the management or employees, then also the candidate could be disqualfiied.
Note that the NID DAT 2024 counseling will have a document verification process. During this stage, all the information and documents furnished by the candidate will be cross-checked.
Q: Can I change my date of birth when NID application form correction window opens?
No, the date of birth cannot be changed in the NID application correction window. The candidate will also not be able to edit their name, the programme applied for admission, registered email id, and phone number, in the application form. Note that these details are entered by the candidate at the time of registering for the NID DAT exam. Among the particulars that the candidate is allowed to edit in the NID DAT application form include the exam centre, address of communication, uploaded documents, category under which admission is sought, and any other details not covered in the paragraph above. The candidate needs to go through the list of items that can be edited and that can not be edited before filling out the NID DAT application form to avoid trouble afterwards. The application edit window for NID DAT will open within a few weeks of the closure of the application form.

The reporting time for the DAT Prelims exam will be mentioned on the NID DAT 2025 admit card. Reach the exam center as per the reporting time. Note that latecomers will not be allowed inside the NID DAT 2025 exam center.
The gates at the exam center will close half an hour before the exam.

No, unfilled seats in SC/ ST category will not be de-reserved. Meaning, such seats will not be transferred to the open category. The same applies to GEN-EWS category seats.
So, even if there are vacant seats left in SC, ST, and GEN-EWS category, such seats will lapse.

Yes, if there are unfilled seats in OBC-NCL, such seats will be de-reserved. Meaning, such seats will be transferred to the open category. Allotment of de-served seats will be same as open category.
The allotment will be based on NID DAT 2025 merit rank.

When filling out the form, the candidate needs to upload the relevant caste/ tribe certificate (in English/ Hindi).
The certificate should be :
- Issued in the name of the candidate.
- Should clearly mention the caste/ tribe the candidate belongs to

As per information given in the NID admission handbooks, overseas candidates cannot apply for admission to GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST seats. Such candidates can't also apply for age-relaxation, scribe, etc.
Also, the fee structure for overseas category is different.
