IIT Bombay has released the detailed statistics of the CEED 2023 exam in the form of a press release. As per the stats, a total of 4910 candidates appeared for CEED 2023, which was held in a centre-based mode on January 22, 2023.
A total of 1886 candidates managed to qualify CEED 2023. Of the qualified candidates, 755 were females. Ms. Khyati Rathor is the top-rank holder (AIR 1) in the Common Rank List (CRL), with 68.85 marks out of 100 marks.

CEED Merit Ranks
The merit rank secured by the candidate in the CEED 2025 exam will be mentioned in the CEED 2025 scorecard.
- All candidates who qualify Part-B of the exam only make it to the merit list
- The CEED merit list 2025 will have two parts - final drawing list and waiting list
- Candidates whose names appear in the final drawing list will be allocated seats through CEED counseling
- The remaining seats, if any will be filled through wait list candidates
In CEED scorecard and merit list, ranks are allotted to candidates in different categories. Check out the different types of CEED ranks that are allotted to candidates:
- Open Rank: Open rank is given to candidates whose total CEED score and marks in Part-A are equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks
- EWS Rank: This rank is given to General category candidates who belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the society. Such candidates are also given Open ranks as there is no separate cutoff for such candidates.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL Rank: This rank is given to candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories. However, the ranks of such candidates are retained only if they are able to produce original certificates issued by the relevant authority at the time of verification of documents. If any candidate fails to produce the relevant document, s/he is considered under Open category only.
- Open PwD Rank: This rank is valid for General category candidates who are physically disabled. However, similar to SC/ST/OBC-NCL rank, candidates can retain the Open Persons with Disability (PwD) rank only if they are able to produce relevant documents at the time of verification of documents.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL PwD Rank: This rank is valid for SC/ST/OBC category candidates who are physically disabled. If any candidate fails to produce the relevant document at the time of verification, s/he will be considered for admission as per their SC/ST/OBC rank or Open rank, as applicable.
