Q:   Are distance learning courses in Engineering good in India?

A:

Engaging in distance learning courses for engineering can be a viable choice for individuals facing obstacles like work obligations or geographical limitations that hinder them from participating in traditional on-campus programs. In India, numerous esteemed institutions provide distance education programs in engineering. Nevertheless, it is crucial to thoroughly investigate and select a programme acknowledged by pertinent professional and accreditation bodies to guarantee the education's quality and its recognition by employers. Moreover, since hands-on learning opportunities may be constrained in distance engineering courses, prospective students should explore ways to complement their education with practical experience.

Q:   What is the difference between regular B.Tech and distance B.Tech?

A:
Hello Kundan, In regular B.Tech, you have to go to college and maintain a certain attendance percentage to be eligible to appear for exams. In distance B.Tech, you have to go to college only to appear for exams. In B.Tech, not all subjects are easy. In most of the subjects, you would need some expert guidance to understand them. In Regular B.Tech, you can get such expert guidance from the faculty members. However, In Distance B.Tech, enough guidance won't be available. In regular B.Tech, regular laboratory sessions help to understand how the theoretical concepts in books apply in the real world. However, this option isn't available in Distance B.Tech. In distance B.Tech, there is no scope for on-campus placement. Most of the companies demand for Regular B.Tech with focus on internships and final year projects. So, Distance B.Tech loses quite a lot of placement options. Most of the well-known universities do not endorse Distance B.Tech. So, doing Distance B.Tech from a lesser known university screws the career. In short, I would recommend you to go for Regular B.Tech. Opt for Distance B.Tech only if you have financial issues and need a source of income to support yourself and your family. I hope I have been able to answer your queries. If so, kindly upvote this answer. If you have any further questions, feel free to revert.
