Q: Is a domicile Certificate required for admission to NITs?

A: For joining IIT/NIT/IIIT through JEE, candidates are not required to provide a domicile Certificate. It is only NIT where admission is offered against the Home State quota and it is not determined on the basis of the state to which you belong but on the basis of the state in which you appear for your 12th board exam. The domicile Certificate is not required during JoSAA counseling. The candidates are given admission based on their JEE score.
