Tie Breaking Guidelines for GCET/Goa BE Admission 2025 Result/Merit List

If two or more candidates have secured the same JEE Main 2025 rank then the listed guidelines will be followed (in the given order) to resolve the tie:

  • Candidates who score better in mathematics will be given a higher rank.
  • In case the marks of the two candidates are the same in Mathematics, then a better score in Chemistry is used to break the tie.
  • If there is still a tie, then the candidate with more aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be given a higher rank.
  • If all the above steps do not break the tie, then the candidate with more marks in the 12th standard qualifying examination Mathematics will be allotted a higher rank.
  • If the tie still remains, then the candidate who is older in age will be allotted a higher rank on the merit list.

Q:   How will the GCET/Goa BE admission merit list be prepared?

A:

GCET/Goa BE admission merit list will be prepared by the authorities for the counselling and admission process. To prepare the merit list of GCET/Goa BE admission, the authorities will check the JEE Main scores/ranks of the candidates. All candidates need to have a valid JEE Main score/rank to be eligible for the Goa BE admission process. The allotted merit ranks are important since it will be considered for the GCET/Goa BE admission seat allotment. No entrance examination will be held by DTE Goa for BE admissions.

Q:   What are the tie-breaking guidelines for GCET/Goa BE admission process?

In case two or more candidates have secured the same rank, then the authorities will follow the tie-breaking guidelines to prepare the GCET/Goa BE admission merit list. Firstly, the candidates who secured more scores in the Mathematics section will be allotted a higher rank. If the tie still remains, then the candidates who have secure more marks in the Chemistry section will be given a higher rank. If the tie still remains, then the candidates with a higher aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be allotted a higher rank. Next, the Mathematics scores secured in the 12th standard qualifying exam will be considered. Finally, if the tie still persists, then the candidate who is older in age will be allotted a higher rank.

GCET/Goa BE Admission 2025 Counselling

Candidates who are listed in the merit list will be able to participate in the GCET/Goa BE admission 2025 counselling process. During the counselling process, the candidates will have to select their choice of colleges and courses in the order of preference. This has to be carefully done since it will be considered during the allotment process. The authorities will conduct the GCET/Goa BE admission 2025 seat allotment result at the centres. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's JEE Main rank, preferences and seat availability. All of the allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission before the final date, otherwise, their allotment will be cancelled.
