Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET or JHTET) is conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of primary school teachers and upper primary school teachers in Jharkhand. Candidates need to appear for the JTET exam to obtain the eligibility certificate. Those who clear the exam are awarded the JTET certificate using which they can apply for teacher recruitment in the state.

The JTET application form 2024 was available from July 23 to August 26, 2024 and from August 29 to 30. The JAC provided a month for candidates to apply online for the Jharkhand TET 2024 exam. Candidates could carry out the JTET registration 2024 and fill out the online application form using the steps given below:

• Visit the official website of JTET- https://www.jactetportal.com/ 
• Click on the 'Register Now' link.
• Accept the declaration and click on submit.
• Fill out the JTET registration form and submit it.
• Login to the registered account using the 'Login' link.
• Fill out the JTET application form.
• Upload scanned images of photo and signature in the JPG/JPEG format.
• Pay the JTET application fee.

JTET Eligibility 2024 Paper 1: Age Limit & Qualification

Jharkhand TET Paper 1 Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 18 years and there is no upper age limit.

Candidates need to meet any one of the given criteria to meet the JTET eligibility for Paper 1:

• Class 12 pass and two-year DEd in Special Education in any category of disability
• Class 12 pass and one-year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any category of disability
• Certificate/ diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with a 6-month Certificate in Education of Children with Special Needs
• Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with a 6-month Certificate in Education of Children with Special Needs
• Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with a 6-month Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs
• Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf
• Primary-level Teacher Training course in Visual Impairment
• Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation-Mental Retardation (DVR-MR) or Diploma in Vocational Training and Employment-Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR) with a 6-month Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs
• Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with a 6-month Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs.

JTET Eligibility 2024 Paper 2: Age Limit & Qualification

Jharkhand TET Paper 2 Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 21 years and there is no upper age limit.

JTET Educational Qualification 2024: Paper 2

Candidates need to meet any one of the given criteria to meet the JTET eligibility for Paper 2:

• Graduate or equivalent and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• Graduate or Postgraduate with at least 50 per cent marks and one-year Bachelor of Education (BEd)
• Graduate or equivalent or Postgraduate with at least 45 per cent marks and one-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) obtained as per the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms and Procedures) Regulations issued from time to time
• Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and a four-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (BElEd)
• Higher Secondary or equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and a four-year BA/ BScEd/ BAEd/ BScEd
• Graduate or equivalent with at least 50 per cent marks and BEd (Special Education)
• Postgraduate with at least 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and a three-year integrated BEd-MEd

JTET selection process 2024 includes the following steps:

• JTET application form: The JTET application form is released on the official website of JAC. Candidates have to fill out the application form online only. JTET application fee is INR 1,300 for one paper and INR 1,500 for both papers.
• JTET admit card: Jharkhand Academic Council releases JTET admit card on its official website. Candidates can download the JTET admit card using their registration number and password.
• JTET exam: The JTET exam is conducted offline at different test centres across the state. The exam is conducted for two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is conducted for candidates who wish to pursue primary-level school teaching and Paper 2 is held for candidates who wish to do upper primary level school teaching.
• JTET answer key: The Council releases the official JTET answer key a few days after the exam is conducted. The JTET answer key contains correct answers for all questions asked in the exam. Candidates can refer to the answer key to predict the JTET score that they can secure in the exam.
• JTET result: JAC releases JTET result based on the final answer keys for the exam. The result is released in the form of a merit list containing details of all the candidates qualifying the exam.

The JTET syllabus 2024 includes topics from which questions are asked in the exam. The JTET 2024 syllabus differs for Paper 1 and Paper 2.
