Q: Â What is the validity of Kerala SET certificate?
The Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET) certificate is valid for a lifetime. Earlier, the certificate was valid for 3 years which was extended by the National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE). However, the candidates who have qualified for the Kerala SET exam earlier can also appear for the Kerala SET exam to get better results.

No, if you have completed a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree, you are not eligible to appear for Kerala SET exam. The basic Kerala SET eligibility criteria 2024 that candidates must fulfil include:
- Candidates should secure at least 55 per cent marks (without rounding off) in their post-graduation.
- Candidates awaiting final year results of their master’s degree exams are also eligible to apply.
- There is no upper age limit to apply for Kerala SET exam.
Kerala SET Syllabus 2024 for Paper 2
Kerala SET Paper 2 syllabus is based on the subject of specialisation of the candidate at the Post Graduate (PG) Level. Paper 2 is conducted in 31 different subjects and comprises 120 MCQs of 1 mark each, except for Mathematics and Statistics subjects that will contain 80 MCQs carrying 1.5 marks each. Yes you can definitely appear for the Kerala SET exam again If you did not clear it in the first attempt. The Kerala SET exam is conducted twice a year by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology for the selection of Assistant Professor in various Kerala Universities and Colleges.
There is no limit on the number o attempts that you can makefor the Kerala SET exam. However, you have to fulfill the eligibility criteria for the exam, which include having master's degree with at least 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for reserved categories) or equivalent from the UGC recognised University.

The Kerala SET exam is conducted by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of higher secondary school teachers and non-vocational teachers in VHSE.
