UPTET Mock Test 2024: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is conducted at the state level for Primary and Upper Primary Levels to shortlist aspirants for the post of teacher in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. The UPTET exam contains two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is held for candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8. The key to success in the UPTET 2024 exam is practising sample papers and attempting mock tests. Q:   How many papers does one need to give to qualify the UPTET exam?

A:

Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 5 need to qualify UPTET Paper 1. Candidates planning to teach Classes 6 to 8 need to qualify for UPTET Paper 2. Candidates planning to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to qualify both papers. The candidates have to apply for the papers according to their eligibility set by the board. The educational qualification criteria has been given below for the candidates:

  • Paper 1 
    • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
    • Class 12 with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd)
  • Paper 2
    • Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Graduation with minimum 50 per cent marks and passed or appearing in one-year BEd.

Q:   What is the difference between UPTET and Super TET?

A:

UPTET stands for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test and Super TET stands for Super Teacher Eligibility Test. Both are teacher eligibility tests conducted in the state of Uttar Pradesh, but there are some key differences between the two.

Eligibility

  • UPTET: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or its equivalent to be eligible to apply for UPTET
  • Super TET: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, a B.Ed. degree or its equivalent, and have qualified UPTET or CTET to be eligible to apply for Super TET

Syllabus

  • UPTET: The UPTET syllabus is based on the curriculum of primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh
  • Super TET: The Super TET syllabus is more comprehensive than the UPTET syllabus and covers topics in pedagogy, child development, and subject knowledge

Difficulty Level

  • UPTET: UPTET is considered to be a moderate-level exam
  • Super TET: Super TET is considered to be a more difficult exam than UPTET

Purpose

  • UPTET: UPTET is a qualifying exam for teaching jobs in government schools in Uttar Pradesh
  • Super TET: Super TET is a competitive exam for teaching jobs in government schools in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who qualify Super TET are given priority in recruitment

Q:   Is it compulsory to attempt both papers in the UPTET exam?

A:
No, it is not mandatory to appear for both UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) Paper 1 and 2. Candidates can choose to appear for either Paper 1 or Paper 2, depending on their desired teaching level. The UPTET exam is conducted in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach classes I to V, while Paper 2 is for candidates who wish to teach classes VI to VIII. However, candidates who wish to teach classes I to VIII have to appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates can choose to appear for either Paper 1 or Paper 2 depending on their teaching preferences. How to Take UPTET Mock Test 2024?

Candidates can attempt the UPTET Paper 1 and 2 Mock Test by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Click on the UPTET Mock Test Link at the bottom of the page
  • Read the instructions and paper pattern carefully
  • Click on the Start Quiz button
  • Select the one correct option out of the given four options
  • Try to attempt all questions in the mock test within 150 minutes
  • Click on Submit
  • Check the total score and time taken to complete the test

In the UPTET exam, papers 1 and 2 contain 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) each. Paper 1 comprises 5 sections I. e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 comprises 4 sections with a choice in the fourth one I. e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, and Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. Q:   Is UPTET exam conducted twice a year?

No. The UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) exam is conducted once a year by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). The notification for the exam will be released a few months prior to the exam date. It is important to note that the UPTET exam is conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates who wish to become teachers for students in the age group of 6-11 years that is for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5) need to appear for Paper 1, while candidates who wish to become teachers for students in the age group of 11-14 years that is for Upper Primary Teachers (Classes 6-8) need to appear for Paper 2. Candidates who wish to become teachers for both age groups need to appear for both papers.

Q:   Is UPTET Certificate valid for a lifetime?

The UPTET certificate is now valid forever. Ramesh Pokhariyal, Indian Education Minister has announced that the validity of the TET certificate is extended for a lifetime. Earlier the validity of the certificates was 5 years. Candidates qualifying for the UPTET 2025 exam will be the first batch of candidates with a lifetime UPTET certificate. They can apply for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh schools at any point in time till they fulfil the eligibility criteria fixed by the respective recruiting agency.
