CPGET 2024 exam schedule has been released by the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE). CPGET 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on July 5, 2024. CPGET 2024 application form submission deadline without late fee is June 17, 2024. As the application process for CPGET 2024 is underway, the exam authority has released the important guidelines related to CPGET 2024 exam.   • Candidates who have still not filled the application process are advised to go refer the relevant instructions and Demo Application form available at the TS CPGET official website https://cpget.tsche.ac.in.
  • As per the exam conducting authority the eligibility of the aspirants is not verified during the application form filling at the time of the entrance exam.
  • Notably, the verification of candidates will be done only during the admissions. Therefore, candidates are suggested to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the course they are applying for.

CPGET 2024 Official Website Guidelines: 

  • Candidates are advised that the CPGET Admit Card and CPGET Score Cards are to be downloaded from the official websites of the exam. Notably, candidates will be informed about the schedules for exercising web based options, certificate verification and other exam related information only through the official websites of CPGET. Candidates will not be informed about these details through personal intimation either by post or by mail.

CPGET 2024 Exam Rules

  • Candidates will be required to bear the expenses to appear for the CPGET entrance test as well as for certificate verification.
  • Candidates who will be appearing for the CPGET exam, will be able to download the syllabus for TS CPGET- 2024: The syllabus for Common Post Graduate Entrance Tests - 2024 from the official website of TS CPGET i.e., cpget.tsche.ac.in.

CPGET 2024 Pattern Guidelines

  • In the CPGET exam, the entrance tests of all subjects, (including M.P.Ed) will have 100 multiple choice objective type questions of total 100 marks.
  • CPGET 2024 exam pattern for admission into M.Sc. Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Genetics and Microbiology is as follows. Candidates have to appear for a common entrance test, namely BCESFSG&M comprising of Part-A (Chemistry for 40 Marks) and Part-B (One of the optional studied at B.Sc. level among the optional subjects: Physics, Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Microbiology and Biochemistry) for 60 Marks.
  • Meanwhile, exam pattern of CPGET for Admissions into M.Sc. Bio-Technology comprising of Part-A (Chemistry for 40 marks) and part-B (Bio Technology for 60 Marks).
  • It is to be noted that if candidates are found practicing any type of malpractice (photo morphing, impersonation, copying, etc.) in the CPGET entrance exam will be punished under the criminal laws.

CPGET 2024 Admission and Reservation

  • CPGET admissions are held through a process of web based counselling. Candidates who qualifies the exam, will be required to exercise options through web in the order of their preference. The exact schedule for online certificate verification is yet to be announced.
  • In the CPGET exam, there is a provision of National Integration Quota (NIQ). As per the NIQ, 20% supernumerary seats in each programme in campus and constituent colleges of Universities to the students of the states other than Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Aspirants who have completed their School & College Education is from other than Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States are also considered eligible only for NIQ Quota.

Q:   When will CPGET exam be held?

A:

Osmania University has not annnounced the CPGET 2025 schedule yet. However, based on the past dates, it can be guessed that the exam will be conducted in the first two weeks of July 2025. 

Q:   What are the exam centres for CPGET 2024?

A:

The exam centres for CPGET 2024 exam will be announced at the official website of the exam soon. Meanwhile, candidates can check the previous years' CPGET exam centres below: 

  • Hyderabad West - Kukatpally, Patancheru and surrounding areas
  • Hyderabad North - Medchel, Gandimaisamma, Old Alwal and surrounding areas

A:

The reservation policy for SC, ST and BC candidates in CPGET exam are as follows: 
Of the total number of seats available in each subject/course, following is the schedule of reservation of seats for these categories.
Schedules Caste- 15 percent
Scheduled Tribe- 10 percent

  • It is to be mentioned here that candidates who have completed degree with single subject in open/distance mode of education are not considered eligible for Postgraduate courses.
  • Candidates who will qualify TS CPGET-2024 or CPGET 2024 are considered eligible for admissions into Campus, Constituent and Affiliated colleges of Osmania, Kakatiya, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru, Satavahana, Telangana Mahila Viswavidyalayam and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities.
  • Candidates with bachelor degree other than B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. qualification like B.E., B. Tech., B. Pharmacy, LLB (5 yrs), B.C.A., etc. are suggested to refer the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.
  • Candidates with B. Pharm. / B.Sc.(MLT) / B.Sc. (Nursing) / B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Tech. / B.E. Graduates are not considered eligible to pursue M.Sc. Courses. However, candidates with B.E./B.Tech. degree is considered eligible for M.Sc. (Geo-Informatics) and Food Science & Technology. Meanwhile, candidates with B.Sc. (MLT) degree are eligible for M.Sc. Biochemistry & M.Sc. Microbilogy.
  • Candidates with B.E., & B.Tech degree are not considered eligible for M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. Mathematics and M.Sc. Electronics
  • Notably, any disputes related to CPGET 2024 or TS CPGET-2024 shall fall within the court’s jurisdiction of Hyderabad only.
  • Any reservation in admission for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category candidates will be done as per the relevant orders from the Govt. of Telangana.

Q:   What are the important documents required to be carried at CPGET exam centre?

A:

Candidates appearing in the CPGET exam are required to visit the exam centre along with the following documents with themselves:

  • CPGET 2024 admit card
  • Valid ID proof (Aadhar card/Passport/ Pan card/ Driving licence)

Q:   What is the reservation policy for local and non local candidates in CPGET exam?

A:

The reservation policy for local and non-local candidates in CPGET are as follows:
i) Admission to 85% of the available seats in every course shall be reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to the local area in respect of Telangana. subject to community and other reservations in force.
ii) The remaining 15% of the seats which are open to local and non -locals shall be filled up subject to similar reservation as applicable to 85% local candidates

Q:   What is the reservation policy for backward class and EWS candidates in CPGET exam?

A:

The reservation policy for backward class and EWS candidates in CPGET exam are as follows:
Backward Class
Group A- 7 percent
Group B- 10 percent
Group C- 1 percent
Group D- 7 percent
Group E- 4 percent (subject to court decision)
EWS- As per the government orders of Telangana Government.

Q:   What is the reservation policy for women candidates in CPGET exam?

A:

Wherever applicable, a minimum of 33.33% of the available seats in each course will be allotted to women candidates from each category, i.e. Open, S.C., S.T. and in all the groups in BC category taking a subject in each college as a unit. This rule is not applicable (i) if women candidates selected on merit in each category form 33.33 % or more of the seats therein; and (ii) for seats under various special categories. In the absence of suitable women candidates in the respective categories, these seats shall be filled in with men candidates of the same category. 

Q:   What color pen do I need to carry to CPGET exam centre?

A:

Candidates can carry any ball point pen for signing their attendance for CPGET. However, they do not have to answer using pens since CPGET is a computer-based entrance test.

For General and OBC category candidates, the CPGET counselling registration fee is INR 200 while SC, ST and PH candidates have to pay INR 150.
