PUMDET 2025 Application Form: It is expected that WBJEEB will release the application form for PUMDET 2025 towards the end of April 2025. Aspiring Presidency University students can apply on the official PUMDET website of WBJEEB. Applicants also have to pay an application fee while filling out the form. It is advised that the applicants go through the eligibility criteria prescribed by the exam body before filling out the PUMDET application form. Applicants must provide personal details, contact details, and academic details and upload specified documents while filling out the PUMDET application form 2025. The exam body also provides the facility to correct application forms within a certain window. Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for admission in OPEN quota (Non-PU quota) seats through PUMDET?

A:

The eligibility criteria for admission in OPEN quota (Non-PU quota) seats through PUMDET is as follows:

  • The candidate must have passed (not before 2024) or appeared in B.A. (Hons/ Major)/ B.Sc. (Hons/ Major) examination in 2024 from any recognised University.
  • Candidates, who have appeared for their B.A. (Hons/ Major)/B.Sc. (Hons/ Major) examination and have their final results at the time of counselling will have to mandatorily produce all original mark sheets/ grade cards of all semester/ annual examinations passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such candidates must fulfill the academic eligibility norms for their applied courses tabled below for admission.
  • Candidates, who have appeared for their final B.A. (Hons/ Major)/ B.Sc. (Hons/ Major) examination, but do not have their final results at the time of counselling, will be given provisional admission, on the basis of production of their mark sheets/ grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level.
  • However, they must submit their final mark sheet by the mentioned date, demonstrating that they fulfil the minimum conditions of eligibility tabled below, failing which their admission will stand cancelled. Therefore, the candidate must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/ CGPA in Hons/ Major subject as per the following table in his/ her B.A. (Hons/ Major)/ B.Sc. (Hons/ Major) examination for final and confirmed admission.

How to fill PUMDET 2025 Application form?

In order to fill out the application form for PUMDET 2025, follow the steps mentioned below. 

Step 1: Register for PUMDET 2025

Go to the WBJEEB official website and click on the ‘Application Form’ link. Aspirants need to provide the following registration details:

Gender

Father’s name

Identification Type

Mother’s name

Mobile Number

Date of Birth

Category

Email ID 

Aspirants need to ensure that all the information provided by them is correct. No edits can be made at this stage. Also, at this stage candidates are asked to select a password and security question/ answer.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

Once candidates submit their registration details, an application number is generated which will be sent to candidates through an email/ SMS to their registered email address/ mobile number. Using the application number and password, candidates need to log on to the official website of PUMDET and provide the following details.

After filling in all these details candidates are advised to review the information furnished by them. At this stage, candidates can edit and make changes in the details filled by them and once they are certain that all the details provided by them are correct they need to click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 3: Uploading of Images

Candidates are required to upload scanned images of their passport-sized photographs and signatures. The specifications for the same are provided in the table below.

Essential features of photographs

  • The photograph must be recently taken which can match the candidate’s physical features.
  • Low-quality images (taken by a mobile phone) will be rejected.
  • The background must be white.
  • The face of the candidate should occupy at least 50 per cent of the entire space while looking at the camera.
  • Candidates are advised to get enough printouts of the photographs as the pictures will be needed at the exam centre, during counselling admission and registration with the university.

Q:   When is PUMDET conducted?

A:

PUMDET is generally conducted in the months of June-July. The entrance exam dates are informed in advance for students to prepare well for the test. PUMDET 2024 was held on July 7, 2024. Applications for the same opened in April and ended in the first week of May. After the exam, PUMDET result is declared on the official website of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) in the form of rank cards.

Candidates were supposed to appear and clear PUMDET in order to get admission to the PG course interested in. However, 5% relaxation is given in the cut-off for students of Presidency University. Q:   How to pay PUMDET application fee?

A:

Payment of Examination Fees can be done as follows:

  • The Examination Fees can be paid by Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/UPI only.
  • Application fees for PUMDET is INR 500 (Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges, if any.
  • The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.

Q:   How to make correction in the PUMDET application form?

A:

Correction of PUMDET application form details are mentioned below.

  • It is impossible to correct any primary registration data i.e., Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s name, gender, domicile, and Date of birth.
  • If any candidate intends to correct/modify any other information in his/her application, he/she can do so after logging in during the given “correction period”. The Board will not entertain any request for any correction/modification under any circumstances beyond the “correction period”. Also, the Board will not make any correction/modification on behalf of any candidate.

Q:   How to get the confirmation page generated for PUMDET?

A:

After the payment of the PUMDET application fee and completion of all the steps mentioned related to application form filling and application fee sumbission, the candidate shall be directed to download the ‘Confirmation Page’ which means that the application is complete. Application is incomplete until the confirmation page is generated for the PUMDET exam. Candidates can also check the process to pay the PUMDET application fee here.

PUMDET 2025 Application Confirmation Page

Once the candidate has successfully filled in the application form, the applicant can press the submit button, which will lead the aspirant to a confirmation page, which means that the application form is complete. Application is not complete until the ‘confirmation page’ is granted. The candidates are advised to take a print-out of the confirmation page and should preserve the same till the completion of the admission process.

Note: If the candidate loses their respective confirmation page, a duplicate can be provided by the board, however, the candidate will have to apply to the board and pay a processing fee of INR 500 by a bank draft in the name of “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board”, which is payable in Kolkata.

PUMDET 2025 Admit Card

PUMDET 2025 Admit Card will be released by the exam conducting body at least a week or two before the exam date. Only those candidates who fill and submit the application form successfully will be issued PUMDET admit cards. The admit card is an important document that mentions important information like the exam centre address, exam timings, reporting time, etc. Those who fail to produce the admit card at the exam centres will not be allowed to take the exam. 

Steps to download PUMDET Admit card 2025

Step 1: The candidate will have to visit the WBJEEB exam website.

Step 2: Select the ‘PUMDET’ link in the banner which will have other entrance exams present as well.

Step 3: On clicking the ‘PUMDET’ link, the candidate will be directed to the PUBDET page and in bold, the candidates will have to log in.

Step 4: Candidates will then have to fill in the following to download their respective admit cards:

Step 5: On entering the details, the PUMDET admit card will be displayed. Candidates are advised to verify the details.

Step 6: Download the admit card and take a printout of the admit card. Candidates are advised to take two print-outs of the PUMDET admit card and carry them to the PUMDET exam centre.

No, the exam body does not publish a merit list. The PUMDET results are announced in the form of a rank card for each examinee separately. They are required to log in by entering their application numbers and dates of birth to access their rank cards.

One thing is certain that since PUMDET is an entrance exam for postgraduate courses, the difficulty level of the exam will be fairly high. Aspirants must start their preparations as soon as possible.
