Eligibility Criteria for CPGET Exam
Candidates interested to apply for the CPGET exam can refer the space below to know about the eligibility criteria for CPGET exam for different streams. CPGET entrance exams is held to provide various courses and thus, candidates are required to know about the eligibility criteria for each course. In order to appear for the exam, candidates need to have obtained a minimum of 40 per cent marks in the qualifying examination. However, there is no age criteria for the candidates in the exam. Candidates can refer the space below to know about the eligibility criteria for each courses for CPGET exam below:

The eligibility criteria for admission through CPGET are as follows:
- Candidates must pass their qualifying examination and meet the minimum required marks in the subject(s)/course(s) they are applying for.
- They must also pass the Common PG Entrance Test in the subject they wish to join.
- In some cases, the entrance test may be conducted before the results of the qualifying exam are released.
- However, passing the entrance test alone does not guarantee admission.
- Candidates must also pass the qualifying exam with the required marks before the admission process starts.
- During counselling, candidates need to submit the necessary documents listed in the instructions.
Faculty of Arts:
For all the Courses under Faculty of Arts the aspirants should have obtained the following % of marks or CGPA in their Qualifying Examination:
1. Aspirants should have passed in the Qualifying Examination with not less than 40% marks or equivalent CGPA. A pass in the Qualifying Examination is sufficient for SC/ST candidates.
2. The aspirants passing the examination compartmentally and securing required percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA are also eligible.
Faculty of Social Sciences:
For all the courses under the Faculty of Social Sciences the aspirants should have obtained the following % of marks or CGPA in their Qualifying Examination:
1. Aspirants should have passed in the Qualifying Examination with not less than 40% marks or equivalent CGPA. A pass in the Qualifying Examination is sufficient for SC/ST candidates.
2. The candidates passing the examination compartmentally and securing required percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA are also eligible.

Any Graduate can appear for the exam.
Faculty of Education:
For MEd: BEd Degree with 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST/BC candidates) or equivalent CGPA.
For MPEd: B.P.Ed. Degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/BC candidates).
Faculty of Science:
For all the Courses under Faculty of Science the Candidates must have secured the following % of marks or CGPA in their Qualifying Examination:
- Candidates should have passed in the Qualifying Examination with not less than 40% marks or equivalent CGPA. A pass in the Qualifying Examination is sufficient for SC/ST candidates.

For administrative reasons, the Convenor may, conduct the entrance test before the publication of the results of the
qualifying examination concerned. But qualifying at the Entrance Test alone does not confer any right of admission into
a course. In addition to being qualified at the Common Entrance Test, a candidate will be eligible for admission only if
he/she passes the qualifying examination before the commencement of admissions process and secure the prescribed
minimum marks in the subject (s) / course (s) concerned. He / She must submit the necessary documents listed under
item VII of these instructions at the time of counseling.
