DU Special Cutoff 2021: What is special cut-off?
Every year Delhi University releases a DU Special Cut-offs list. Know what it is and who all can apply in this article.
DU Admissions 2021: Delhi University Admissions 2021 are underway. The DU is planning to release five cut-off this year for merit-based admission to 70,000 seats in various undergraduate courses. The DU first cut-off 2021 list was announced on October 1, the second will be announced on October 9 and the third on October 16. The varsity said that the colleges this year will announce the special cut-offs after the third list, only if there are vacant seats. This will include cut-offs for courses that will be available at that time under each category for a college that would be admitting students under the special cut-off.
The Special cut-offs are released by Delhi University colleges for all those students who could not apply in the previous three lists despite being eligible. As per the schedule, the admission process under special cut off will begin on October 26, 2021, at 10 am and will end on October 27 at 11.59 pm. Colleges will approve the admission for the same on October 28 by 5 pm. The last day of payments will be October 29 by 5 pm.
Students must note that if even after the special cut-offs the seats remain vacant, then the fourth and fifth cut-offs and another special round cut-off list will be released by the DU. Last year, the Delhi University had released seven regular DU cut-off 2020 lists and three special drive cut-off lists.

Several experts believe that the Delhi University Cut off 2021 will be mostly higher than the DU Cutoff 2020. Rajdhani College principal Dr Rajesh Giri while speaking about the same said that this year, there will be a 2 per cent increase in the DU cut-offs in the college than the last year across all the courses.
DU University admission 2021 to sports and ECA category will be done on the basis of the certificates only. Owing to the COVID-19 restrictions, no trials for sports/Extracurricular activity quota will be conducted by the DU authorities. It must be noted that last year, too the admission under Sports/ ECA category was done on the basis of certificate only.

Admission into institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, FMS Delhi and many more is very competitive and academic marks are one of the many criteria in the selection process. However, both institutes consider a holistic approach in admissions and having average academic marks does not fully disqualify you. H
