How to get DU Admissions Under Sports Quota 2023-24
Delhi University (DU) admission for the academic session 2023-24 is underway. Apart from candidates applying for admissions under the general as well as reserved categories, they are also given an opportunity to apply for admission under the Sports quota as well as Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota. The ECA and Sport allocations have been done on the basis of latest preferences given by the candidates at the time of generating the first UG ECA/Sports Quota Admission Lists 2023 on the DU Admission Portal. The upgrade in the further UG ECA/Sports Quota Admission Lists 2023 (if seats remain vacant) will also be done on the basis of the latest preferences of the candidate at the time of generating the further UG ECA/Sports Quota Admission Lists 2023 on the DU Admission Portal.
Under Sports and ECA quota, University of Delhi offers not more than 5% reservation. Further, Delhi University (DU) gives colleges the freedom to decide the actual number of seats that are to be filled under sports quota (not more than 5%). These seats are determined on the basis of facilities available, requirement of the College as well as other relevant factors. Delhi University Sports Quota Admission Important Dates
The schedule for DU admissions under Sports category is announced on the centralised admission portal of University of Delhi after the registration process. The University has released the schedule of sports trials for admissions to DU on the basis of sports in UG courses for the session 2023-24. The trials for different sports will be conducted as per the schedule at venues specified.
DU Sports Quota Application Process
In order to apply for admission under the sports quota, candidates need to fill the online application form released on the official website of Delhi University (DU). An applicant can apply in a maximum of three games/sports.

No, Delhi University offers a full-time LLM programme of two to three years duration at the PG level. This course is offered by Faculty of Law under DU. University of Delhi LLM admission is conducted in online mode and for final selection, candidates are required to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university. CUET PG exam is conducted by NTA and considered by DU for admission to LLM course. Candidates after completing graduation can apply for DU LLM programme.

Delhi University Sports Quota Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process
Candidates are offered admission in Delhi University as per two criteria under sports quota at Delhi University colleges. The two criteria under which DU admissions are offered in Sports Quota are:
a) Super Category: Direct Admission without Sports Trial
Students who have represented India at international sports events which are recognised and funded by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) will be given Direct Admission at DU colleges and such students would not have to undergo Sports Trial. However, a point to note here is that applicants would only be offered admission at those DU colleges which have put in a requirement for the Game/Sport that the candidate has taken part in. Q: Can I take admission in DU MBA without CAT?
No, aspirants wishing to apply for any of the MBA colleges under DU must pass CAT. DU colleges offering MBA provide maximum weightage to the CAT percentile. Check below the CAT weighate for admission at DU:

Delhi University MCom admission up until 2021 was offered in two categories: Direct Admission and Through Entrance Test. Also, along with the entrance exam, interview rounds were also conducted for admission to Delhi University PG programmes. There was no minimum age limit to take admission to the MSc programme offered by the university. However, DU PG admission 2022-23 was subject to a valid score in DUET as announced by the University.

b) Admission on the Basis of Sports Trials
Candidates would be allotted maximum 40 marks for Merit/Participation Sports Certificate.
- Criteria for Marking of Merit/Participation Sports Certificate displays the marks for different levels of Game/Sport Competitions.
- Sports Certificate of Invitational / Memorial / Open / Prize Money League / Ranking Competitions will not be considered.
- Applicants are required to upload Self-Attested copies of three Merit/Participation Sports Certificate. However, only the Highest Merit/ Participation Sports Certificate will be considered for marking.
- Merit/Participation Sports Certificate of preceding three years will be considered from May 1, 2016 to April 30, 2023.
- Level of competency of candidates is determined only for those who have achieved distinction only during the preceding three years in those Games/ Sport recognised by AIU / MYAS in which Inter-University Competitions are held and preferences are given by the constituent colleges.
DU Sports Trials
Candidates would be allotted maximum 60 marks for Sports Trials. These trials would include team games, individual sports as well as dual and combat sports.
Team Games: Ball Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Korfball, Netball, Softball and Volleyball.

Delhi University colleges conduct Sports Trial only for the game or sport that is identified by Delhi University Sports Council (DUSC). The college conducting the sports trial would videograph the entire trial and preserve the recording till the admission process is complete.
The applicant needs to secure minimum 30 marks in the Sports Trial in order to be eligible for DU admission 2023 under Sports quota.
Tie-Break
In a scenario wherein two or more candidates secure the same marks in the same Game or Sport and are eligible to secure admission in the same course in the DU college then tie-break is done by the Sports Admission Committee of the college as per the below mentioned criteria:
(a) Applicant securing higher marks in Sports Trials will be given higher preference.
(b) If the Tie still persists then all the applicants will be offered admission.
Sports Category Certificates

The list of applicants selected for admission under Sports Quota (that is, marks of the Sports Certificates and Sports Trials) along with the course allotted for admission shall be displayed on the official website and Notice Board of the college for three days. Candidates can raise grievances, if they have any, during this three day wait. The Grievance Committee of the DU College needs to resolve all the grievances within these three working days, that is, before admission is offered to candidates.
The list (soft as well as hard copy) containing names of candidates shortlisted for admission basis Sports Trials is sent to Delhi University Sports Council (DUSC) within seven days from the last date of admission of the University by the constituent Colleges.
Instructions for Physical Trials for ECA Admission 2023-24
1. The ECA category-wise lists of centers that the candidates shall have to report to for physical trials are as mentioned in Annexure 1. The outstation candidates are advised
to plan their place of stay accordingly.
2. No TA/DA/any other allowance shall be paid by the University for any candidate undertaking these trials.
3. No boarding and lodging arrangement/expenses shall be provided by the University for undertaking these trials.
4. The date-wise and time slot-wise detailed list of candidates for each ECA category’s trials shall be notified in due course of time. The candidates are advised to keep checking the UoD admission website for details.
5. The candidates have to get their own equipment/ mats/ writing material, etc., as per their requirement. No request for borrowing/sharing of the materials required shall be
entertained at the trial center.
6. The candidates are advised to have their music/instruments/ any other required prop set up earlier than their specified slot of trial.
7. Please note that there are no “syllabi” for any of the ECA category trials. These trials are aimed at judging a candidate’s proficiency in the given ECA category and shall be
based accordingly.
8. The candidates are themselves responsible for their physical and other health related issues and perform as per their individual capabilities. The University shall not bear
any responsibility for any injury caused to any candidate during the trial process. No special consideration by the jury shall be granted to any candidate who is afflicted in
any way at the time of trials.
9. In the award of scores for performance in physical trials, the discretion of the assessment committee will be final and binding and no grievance shall be entertained
on this ground. No second chance shall also be given to any candidate under any circumstances.
10. The candidates are advised to wear ECA category-specific clothes/costumes, suitable to the performance.
11. At the time of performance/trial, no one else besides the candidate and permitted accompanist shall be allowed before the assessment committee.
12. Disciplinary action shall be taken against any candidate who misbehaves in any manner with any university official, experts or judges at any time during the trial process.
13. Recording/ filming of the trials by the candidates/ accompanists is not allowed.
14. Sufficient thoughts and care should be implemented while presentation of item i.e. it should not be injurious to personal or religious sentiments of any individual, community
or nationality.
15. For the categories where physical outcome has been achieved, the University will have all rights for the use of these, as and when they deem fit.
16. Since these are in-person trials, the given time slots may sometimes vary due to unavoidable circumstances. The candidates are therefore advised to make suitable
arrangements for food, water, any medicine, etc., for a longer than stipulated time period.
17. Use of any gadget (besides those mentioned under some ECA categories)/ other unfair means may lead to cancellation of the candidature under ECA quota. This especially
holds for literary categories, like creative writing, debate, quiz, etc., where the candidate is likely to use the internet for ideas/answers. Use of only those gadgets is allowed as
applicable under some ECA categories.
