Qualifying exam

Candidates who have passed a three-year LLB or five-year LLB degree are eligible to appear for the AIBE exam. Therefore, the academic qualifying exam for AIBE candidates is 

  1. 3-year LLB degree, OR
  2. 5-year integrated LLB degree

Minimum marks in qualifying exam

The BCI mentions no minimum marks are required for appearing in the AIBE exam. However, a candidate must secure a minimum percentage or grades in their law degree as prescribed by universities for further education. 

Age limit for AIBE exam

There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the All India Bar Examination. 

State Bar Council Registration/Enrollment 

A candidate must be registered with their State Bar Councils as an Advocate. As State Bar Council enrollment is mandatory for AIBE eligibility. 

Candidates not enrolled as an advocate with the SBC, will not be able to apply for AIBE XIX 2024-25

Step 1: AIBE 20 Registration

Go the official website of AIBE - http://www.allindiabarexamination.com. Click on the Registration link. The AIBE registration page would have appeared as under:

Q:   What is the application fee for the form for AIBE 2025?

A: 

As per the application process of AIBE 2025, the application fee to be paid for General/ OBC category candidates is INR 3,500. However, candidates belonging to SC/ ST (including PWD candidates of the categories) have to pay INR 2,500 only as they are given concession. Candidates must note that if they are under PWD category, as well as General/ OBC category, then they will be allowed to claim concession only if they provide the proof of Physical Disability (40% or more).

If they failed to provide a Certificate of belonging to PwD category, then they have to pay the application fee INR 3,500 as applicable for General/ OBC category. Note: Since, the application fee for AIBE exam is to be paid in online mode, the bank will apply charges in addition to the applicable fee as processing charges. It completely depends on the mode of payment, and the charges may range from INR 60 to 150, which will be confirmed at the time of final payment process only.

Q:   What is the hall ticket for AIBE 2025?

A: 

The AIBE 2025 Hall ticket is the same as the admit card. It is the most important document required to appear in the AIBE 20 (XX) Exam 2025. Candidates have to carry it for entry into the examination hall without which they will not be allowed to appear in the exam.  Along with the admit card, candidates must carry any of the following photo Id proofs to the test centre:

  • Voter ID
  • Aadhaar Card/ Enrollment Slip
  • Passport
  • Driver's License
  • Advocate Enrollment ID with State Bar Council
