Factors affecting AIBE 2024 Cut Off

As per the past years' analysis, listed below are the reasons/factors affecting the AIBE 19 cut off marks:

  • Number of candidates reporting the discrepancies in the answer keys
  • Total discrepancies verified and rectified by BCI
  • Questions removed from result evaluation

Let us understand how each factor changes AIBE cut off marks, in the past years:

Factors affecting AIBE cut off

Details

Minimum passing criteria

The category-wise cutoff marks are:

  • General/ OBC category – 40% marks out of total marks
  • SC/ ST category – 35% marks out of total marks

Discrepancies in the AIBE answer keys

If any errors/ discrepancies are observed in the answer keys released by the BCI, the candidate may file objections.

  • The BCI will take into account such discrepancies/errors
  • If any question is dropped, then the AIBE cutoff would get affected.

For example, in AIBE 16 XVI, FIVE questions were dropped and the paper was evaluated out 95 marks. Consequently, the cutoff marks also got affected.

In AIBE 13, two questions were dropped and the paper was evaluated out 98 marks.

Total discrepancies rectified by BCI

BCI verifies the objections raised by candidates and if the objections are found valid it takes action accordingly

Total questions removed from final result evaluation

The cutoff marks are affected when the exam authority deletes errored questions from the final result evaluation.

For example, the AIBE 2021 FINAL answer key was released on Feb 23, and

  1. FIVE questions were dropped /deleted
  2. The marking is done out of 95 marks (instead of 100 marks)

Therefore, the cutoff marks were decided out of 95 marks as well.

Q:   How many chances are given to a candidate to clear the AIBE exam?

A:
The All India Bar Examination AIBE is conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to assess the capability of law graduates to practice law in India. There is no specific limit on the number of attempts a candidate can make to clear the AIBE exam. As long as a candidate meets the eligibility criteria for appearing in the AIBE exam, they can take the exam as many times as they need until they pass it. However, it is important to note that the AIBE is a professional exam and therefore, it is recommended that candidates put in their best efforts to clear the exam in the first attempt itself. The exam can be challenging and requires thorough preparation, so it is advisable to prepare well and attempt the exam with full dedication and focus.

To pass AIBE 19, a candidate must have at least 45% marks in case of being from the general or OBC category, and 40% in case of a candidate belonging to the SC/ST category. Considering you scored 43 marks, it seems that you failed to cross the pass mark.
