AIBE 2024: Normalisation of AIBE Score

The Bar Council of India (BCI) does the normalisation process to ensure that students are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by the difficulty of exams. To adjust variations in difficulty level at different slots, normalisation process is done. As per the normalisation process, candidates have two types of marks.

Raw marks: The actual marks obtained by the candidates

Normalized marks:  These are the modified marks that have been offered to a candidate based on the relative difficulty of his slot compared to the difficulty of other slots of his discipline. In case, the BCI feels the slot of a candidate was relatively easier as compared to others, then the normalised marks will be less than his actual marks. Similarly, if the difficulty level was relatively more difficult than another slot, then his discipline then his normalized marks will be more than his actual marks.
