Amid the coronavirus lockdown, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started imparting education to the students through Gyan Vani and Gyandhara FM radio channels.

To avoid any academic loss of the students during this lockdown period, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)'s Communication Center has started using Gyan Vani 105.6 FM, to impart education to the students.

The broadcasting on both IGNOU's Gyan Vani and Gyandhara is held from 8 am to 8 pm every day.

IGNOU's Gyan Vani (GV) FM Radio was formulated in 2001 as a network of education FM radio channels, which operates from various cities around the country. Gyandhara FM radio is a web audio counseling service given by IGNOU to the students.

The broadcast is available at http: //www.ignouonline.ac.in/gyandhara.

Students can listen to an education programme through the broadcast and can ask their queries through a chat. They can also give their suggestions through the chat as well.

Students can also ask their questions through the phone at toll-free 1800112347, 01129533103, 29533581, IGNOU said in a statement.

During this 12-hour program conducted by Gyan Vani, teachers give lectures through phone-in from 11 am to 1 pm. Students can also interact directly with the teachers during this time.
"A special awareness program on coronavirus is also organized from 4 pm to 5 pm during which the listeners can also ask questions to the expert. This awareness program will continue until April 16," said Manoj Kumar Singh, Station Manager, Gyan Vani, Delhi.
