IIM Kozhikode holds Start-Up Saturday for budding entrepreneurs

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM K) organized the first Start-Up Saturday at its campus for budding entrepreneurs. The theme of the first edition of this Saturday was ‘Validating Your Startup Idea’.

IIM K has introduced the Start-Up Saturday to bring aspiring and successful entrepreneur together on a single platform.

Start-up Saturday is one of India's most popular start-up events, organized across the country at several locations by Headstart Network Foundation.

IIM K's first Start-Up Saturday was supported by its business incubator and entrepreneurship development centre, Laboratory for Innovation, Venturing and Entrepreneurship (IIMK LIVE).

Speaking at the event, Keyoor Purani, Professor at IIM Kozhikode and Executive Director of IIMK LIVE said “Northern Kerala is fast changing in terms of its outlook to economic activities and this is the most appropriate moment to create start-up ecosystem in the city.  IIMK LIVE at IIM Kozhikode is committed to promote entrepreneurship among the community on campus and the greater community and would be open to associate with those committed to similar mission”.

Meher Moosa, Center Coordinator, Kerala Start-up Mission Kozhikode, and Headstart Calicut Chapter, said: “With this event, Headstart’s Calicut Chapter commences its activities towards building a start-up ecosystem in the city. We received an overwhelming response in less than a week’s time of its announcement.”

Over 300 start-up enthusiasts participated in the event which gave them an opportunity to share and discuss start-up ideas with each other.

For the 2025-27 batch, IIM Kozhikode has set the following minimum cutoffs for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP):

  • Overall CAT Score: 85th percentile
  • Sectional CAT Score: 75th percentile

The college has great faculty and placement opportunities for the students. Placements: At IIMK, all the courses offered students placement opportunities.
